I only came across your channel yesterday. Have been back and watched clippets of what you've done over the past 12 Months or so. As you stated in one of your 1st videos, there aren't many channels that dedicate to N Gauge and when space is an issue, its brilliant to see. Fantastic modelling and keep up the excellent videos
Hi Geoff, yet again another enjoyable video of your beautiful model railway. Just love the hedgerows, grass and tree scenic areas mate. I have just realised that the bridge in the background of where the level crossing is is exactly the bridge for my layout that I am looking for. Gotta go back through your videos to find it now lol. Oh it was 17 times I saw the two Fred's together. Regards Chris
Hi Geoff, great layout overview. Can't believe how much Pride Parkway has come on since you started it. I know sometimes it feels like we've bitten off more than we can chew but remember it's a hobby and there's no race to finish. Things will plod along as and when time and finances allow. No social distancing going off with the two Freds during the 17 times that I saw them, lol. Stay safe and well kiddo, catch you soon, regards Bobby 'T'.
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed the tour. Absolutely and if 2020 hadn't been the way it has, i certainly wouldnt of got this far with it. Dont worry the two Fred's are in a bubble lol. Best of luck in the draw. Cheers Geoff
I'ii guess the two Fred's appeared 17 times. Thanks for the layout tour. I do like the idea of a heritage centre. A run round weaving its way through the Power station complex sounds good too. Happy modelling.
Well that was a very enjoyable 30 mins indeed:) I'm glad you've done a video like this as ive been hoping to see a good panning shot of the layout with the tour to see where everything is. Lovely running shots too, excellent stock-17 times for me I saw the freds:) I'm especially looking forward to the station bud and viaduct, you have a genuine talent for scenery and this is a brilliant layout. You've given me some inspiration too and I may do a layout tour of my own soon as its always good to do for new followers, all the best, Dan.
Hi Dan, thanks so much, i'm glad you enjoyed the video and the tour. Looking forward to catching up with your layout tour at the weekend when i get some time online. Best of luck in the draw! Cheers Geoff
Lovely update Geoff. Great running shots with some superb views and angles. Well done on building the channel so quickly. Your layout is a credit to N Gauge. (17 times for the figures). Cheers Euan
Awesome work Geoff as ever! 17 times I spotted to he Fred's! Really like the idea of the return loop on the power station will give it a proper 'Merry Go Round' feel!
Hi Geoff. Just watched the video. Really made me smile as it reminded me of the hunt for the squirrels that they have at the Isle of Wight model village
Thanks for an enjoyable challenge. I spotted 17 Fred's! 🤞🚂 Especially enjoyed the lights in the buildings and the car park - both on the to do list for my layout.
Hi Geoff, always look forward to your videos. Congratulations on your subscriber numbers, well deserved. There were some great running shots on a great layout. The 'loop' in the power station is a fantastic idea and I'm sure you'll make a half decent job of it!! Naaa... only joking.... it'll be BRILLIANT!! (as Paul Whitehouse used to say on the fast show). By my reckoning, there were 17 'Freds', but I failed my maths exam... twice!!! so what do I know!! Eager to see how you finish the 'country station'. I've got a few ideas for my n gauge layout, (yet to build baseboards), from watching your videos, so thanks for sharing and the inspiration. Cheers, Neil.
Really enjoyed this video as I’m a new subscriber, have a few videos to catch up on. I have been creating my layout for about 18 months from a lot of 00 stock I’ve had stored away and it has been a very interesting journey, especially with the current environment. Someone asked me early on when I thought the layout would be finished. I replied “never “. I think that’s the truth for all modellers. It is a journey without a destination. Well done and I counted 17 Freds.
Hi Roy, welcome to the channel and thank you for your kind words. Please forgive me forthe sound issues in some of my earlier videos especially if you are using headphones (it can get a bit loud) but hopefully you'll enjoy the content. I completly agree with your comment, theres always something you want to change or 'improve'. Best of luck in the draw! All the best, Geoff
Excellent video as usual. I made it 17 Freds! Your idea for a return loop in the power station is much more prototypical. It allows you to run MGR style trains! Keep up the good work.
Congratulations Geoff on all the new subscribers, well on your way to 2K! Thanks for the layout refresher tour. My local station is a small country station with frequent steam tours during the year, so your plans have a good precedent! Love the idea of the return loop at the power station. Lots of scope for merry go round operations? To avoid obscuring trains and platform detailing you could opt for individual station canopies rather than an overall roof. Looking forward to the next video! And before I forget I counted the two Fred's 17 times.
Hi Karl, thank you so much. Yes i did think about individual canopies but I just love those big overall roofs at Newcastle and Darlington, i just need to scale down my original plans a little lol. You're in the draw, best of luck! Geoff
Found your video on RU-vid last night and whilst watching this video subscribed. What can I say other than what you are creating is absolutely spectacular. You should be very proud of what you have achieved so far. I am looking forward to future update but also going back and looking at your earlier videos charting your progress to date I saw the 2 Fred's 17 times
Always enjoy seeing your videos Geoff, hate that I can’t get the time to sit and enjoy them properly and sometimes end up playing catch up... though there’s something to be said for binging!! I counted 17 sightings of the two Freds. Keep up the good work and stay safe! 😊
Hi Geoff, Great update and I loved the layout tour, so nice to see it in it's entirety. I know you love your HST's and while trawling through N-gauge stuff, I found this from Rails of Sheffield and thought instantly of you. Class 43 LNER HST Twin Pack - 43238 "NRM 40" 40th Anniversary LNER Power Car & 43302 “World Speed Record - HST" LNER Trailer Car, looks like it's Dapol with next18 decoders. Anyway big congrats On the subscriber count! Next time you hit a landmark could you do another layout tour so we can see how much it has progressed once again :-) On the Fred's I counted 17, All the best and stay safe Tony.
Hi Tony, thanks so much and yes, absolutely I will do that, assuming the channel keeps growing, otherwise I will do one just for you lol. Haha you know me too well, I preordered that train pack the day Rails of Sheffield announced it, i've already got the decoders (thanks to the Dapol collectors club sale) and four coaches to go with it so far... I know I have a serious issue when it comes to HST's. It also means I can keep my Virgin livery set as Virgin as this set is LNER. Oh and good luck in the draw :)
Well done mate Fred was 18 times on your layout very impressed with what you done i included Fred in the count as well when you held him up at the end cheers from Australia Ron
Hi Geoff, thanks very much, half of your comment seems to be missing just wanted to let you know in case you had made a guess for the competition? Cheers Geoff
Hi Geoff. Really enjoyed the video. Great layout and I very much enjoy following the channel. High quality modelling and well produced videos. I counted 17 views of the two Fred’s. 🤞
Hi Geoff, great video, very enjoyable. I wouldn't worry about the camp site being close to the railway. Just north of Berwick-Upon-Tweed there is a caravan site within 5m of the Up Line.
Hi Geoff Great video and really good running session. I think the guys appeared 19 times. I have to say the farm corner is already looking good. Looking forward to seeing that going forward. Looking forward to seeing the next edition in a few weeks time. Take care Best regards Jeff
congrats on the subs man :) believe it or not but the welcome in Dawlish warren is more or less on the tracks, admittedly the tracks are higher up and out the way but they still come almost as close as yours :) if you wanted to go a step further you could do like brunnel camping coaches also in dawlish warren, in some old mk1s sat line side in a old old siding thats know disconnected from the mainline, if you also search up the ribblehead viaduct im pretty sure that is a mainline that becomes a preserved on weekends, i counted 17 little dudes :)
Great video, Geoff (as usual). The ‘Two Fred’s’ appear in 17 of your clips (not including appearances in the intro). Keep up the good work - wish I had the confidence to video and story tell my progress on my layout. All the best, Martin
Thank you very much Martin, best of luck in the draw! You should video your layout, the first couple of times its hard to listen to yourself back but you soon get use to it and 99% of people are supportive, if not, i just hide them from the channel and focus on the kind supportive subscribers :)
Wow, Geoff. That was a stunning video - thank you for sharing, and a massive, massive congratulations on your 1650 subscribers - they are truly deserved. It was a treat to see your layout in its entirety. I think the way it is split into sections with scenic breaks is inspired, and the "complete" end withe the TMD and DMU maintenance area looks superb. I've already enthused over all of the other parts, but I particularly like the viaduct and the disused line coming off near the curve. The reverse loop in the power station is a great idea if you are sure you can fit it in. It can be as tight as possible if it is off scene. I have to say there's something I quite like about your "frosted" station. If you re-did the roof, it would look just like a badly-rendered building from the 1950s or so. Until you mentioned it was "wrong", I was thinking of asking you what texture you'd used, as I quite liked it - a bit like pebble-dash. Better suited to a small bungalow than a grand station though maybe. The running session at the end - loved it! Superb angles of Pride and its environs. It reminded me of the end of a documentary about life on the railways - the stirring music as the sun goes down and the trains run off through the dusk into night. Anyway, I saw the two Freds 17 times in total. I was disappointed that they didn't go rushing past on the flatbeds with the Transit vans at one point, so you lose a point for that. The shot of the GNER train speeding through the station, seen just as a peek through the station entrance - inspired! As was the helicopter shot a little later on when the HST passed the Class 91. Anyway, I've enthused enough, you will think I've been at the whisky again. Keep it up! -- Michael.
Thanks so much Michael, if you're ever in Sussex you're very welcome to swing by and see the layout. As always thank you for your kind words, really appreciate it. I'm pretty sure that I can get either R2 or possibly even R3 curves in the power station and I would use set track to avoid any problems. Yes the station texture is the Scalescenes Dressed Stone, pebbledashed in the Humbrol Matt Varnish from hell lol, feel free to try it. All the best, Geoff (Good luck in the draw)
@@PrideParkway Geoff, if the Humbrol Matt spray is anything like their brush-on stuff, the varnish soaks into the paper and leaves the white matting agent behind like happened on your station. Get some GLOSS enamel varnish and brush it on. Two coats. The matting agent will get re-dissolved and will disappear leaving the underlying texture visible. THEN do the matt varnish and you’ll be right. I used this technique to rescue part of my viaduct once and it worked really well. I always do gloss before matt now. May be worth a try if you don’t want to chuck your hard work out.
Hi Geoff congratulations on you 1650 subscribers it’s well deserved you have the making of a fantastic layout 👍 as for the competition I’ve spotted them 17 times in your running clips. All the best and stay safe Andy
The return loop around the power station, is a great idea thats how the coal train in the 80's had the nickname merry-go-rounds. If you use google maps/earth for a place called Ferrybridge you can get a feel for the loop as it goes round the coal field.
Thanks very much Gerry. Funnily enough thats where I got the idea, i came accross some Ferrybridge videos on RU-vid and that's was what got me thinking. All the best, Geoff
Hi great video and great running shots as always. I believe I saw the 'Two Freds' 17 times in total. Looking forward to the next video. Your layout is progressing well - something you should be incredibly proud of. :) TTFN
G'day Geoff well done on1.67K subs and a great video as always I think that you have the Fred's popping up 17 times the layout is coming along fine I wish my modelling skills are as good as yours again well done looks great keep safe regards Eric. 👍👍👍
Amazing layout. Just subscribed! Heard you mention your concern about gluing the DMU depot down because of track cleaning in an older video. I see your Gaugemaster track cleaner. Might I suggest getting a Sharge track cleaner to go with it if you haven't already. It's basically a CMX at half the price, think I paid £60 for mine, that rubs track cleaning fluid on to the rails and would be ideal for backing in the depot to give it a quick clean. It's also great for cleaning your rolling stock wheels if you turn it up a notch and let another train chase it. Ideal for your HST's with the working lights! ~Mike. Edit: Regarding the country station / weekend heritage station. Jacobite on the West Highland Line. Realistic! 👍
Hi Mike, thank you for your kind words and welcome to the channel! I've just taken a look at the Sharge track cleaner and it looks very good, I was put off the CMX due to the cost of it but this is much more affordable and great that it simply uses IPA. Thanks again and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year, Geoff
Another fantastic video Geoff! The layout is coming along so well... Great musuc at the end as well. I think the two geezers were in 17 clips in total. Looking forward to seeingvyour next vid.. Stay safe & well..
Have really enjoyed following your layout as it grows, you're definitely progressing at a faster rate of knots than me! Your videos are very good and certainly informative. Cheers for your time making them. I counted that the Freds made 17 appearances btw.
Hi Geoff big congrats on passing 1000 subscribers you are building a really beautiful layout and i am really enjoying seeing it develop. cheers and all the best. Nicholas.
Thank you for showing the whole layout, and it really is such a brilliant one mate. Love everything you've done and wait with bated breath for what is to come ;-) Take care Geoff. Oh! & 17 Fred's made their appearance. Keep up your cracking work. All the best. Iain
Hi Geoff, great look at the entire layout and yes, lots to do, but you do it so well. Great running and I counted the two Fred’s 17 times. Cheers, Chris
New subscriber Geoff & layout is looking really good even though as you say you still have plenty to do. Started watching vids from the start and always good to see a layout built from scratch. Station definitely better without a canopy but your layout so do as you please. Interested to know your thoughts on the real life HST in Pullman livery, personally I love it. PS gotta have a deltic for your heritage section. Spent many a cold day at Newcastle train spotting & travelling all over the Uk as a teenager. Keep up the good work 👍
Hello and welcome to the channel. thanks so much for your kind words, very much apreciated. I'm completly on the fence with that Pullman liveried HST, I don't dislike it, but as I have no emotional connection to it i'm just a bit Meh with it lol. Now a deltic is an absolute addition. All the best, Cheers Geoff
Brand new subscriber. Just finished boarding my loft and planning a very similar n gauge layout with scenes like yours so it's great to have discovered you! Oh, 17 Fred's.
Hi Geoff, layout is a credit to you. I counted 17 times Fred's appeared in the running session. Looking forward to the next video.Stay safe regards Lee.
