Can you just imagine a ‘Church Sunday’ with carts and buggies all pulled in under the shade of the big trees whilst everyone enjoyed a big meal and talk 💖🇦🇺🦘
Just watching the land come to life is so satisfying. Between you and Aaron working on the old farm's gets me excited on what treasures you might uncover. I miss seeing you guys together.
I know that you miss Aaron being there with you helping you out with the overgrowth of the privet and the wisteria vines I miss seeing him on there but I’ve watched Aaron on his channel and he is really staying busy in North Carolina at Papa Hughes and Lala’s farm I do wish him the best of luck up there in North Carolina and I wish you the best of luck there on The Old Byrd Farm
Making good headway. Need to get you a good pair of loppers to cut the vines growing up in the trees you want to save. Raccoon tree looks like some vines large enough for chain saw. When I was clearing the Wisteria from the land I am on, I cut all the massive vines going up the large trees. Within about 18 months, the vines were breaking apart and started to fall out of the trees. If the sap flow is cut now, no new spring growth up in the trees.
Two months ago when I made a comment that the home looked like a pig sty, you admonished my comment in your video the very next day. But as I said at the time, once you clear up the place, you will feel so much better about the work you are doing. You have worked very hard since that time and what a difference it has been. I know it can all be very overwhelming, but once you start, the work speaks for itself. Nice job Robert. I'm impressed.
Look how far you have come I have have watched you from the beginning amazing what you have done with the help of friend such a old wish soul you surround yourself with like minded people and your hard work and dedication shows dear one such an inspiration to watch to see start from small beginning and to grow to what you and your friends have accomplished the people that watch you l know they feel the same Robert we love you and all you do and please tell the other Robert and the rest thanks we love you all what an amazing group of people that care sooo much about life and work together for a greater goal amen God bless you all take care such wonderful person
I really enjoy your tractor work. Good job. Relaxing for me to watch as generation of my family worked on dozers, loaders or any equipment to clear land to build or to make beautiful lakes. This also includes farming. Thank you Steve. 🙏💙
Robert, your doing an excellent job at clearing the privet and wisteria! I enjoy watching your tractor pop the privet out of the ground and seeing the wisteria disappear at the same time. I like it when you can do one thing and it helps another problem out.👌🏻👏😀
I’m super excited to see the land restored to its natural state. Between the house and the land it will be wonderful by the time you are finished! Thanks for sharing this with us Robert!😊
Would be cool if one of these You Tube outfits that do brush control could come and mulch that for you. I love watching Upstate Brush Control, they would knock this out in no time but I am sure they are expensive.
You certainly have cleared a large area - putting that Kubota to work for sure! I guess the Kubota suffered a "Privet Pivet!" Beautiful and quiet, such a homey feeling on the OBF. 🤗👍👍
Bit by bit it keeps looking better. I can see the next big job: cutting the wisteria so that it dies and falls out of the trees you want to keep. The fire looks great at night.
It's really coming together. It's looking good. It's a good thing your young. Your work is cut out for you. Your grandma would be so proud of your work.
Robert, great to see you, and another nice brush fire. Glad the baby raccoons are not in that tree, but thinking they are better off more towards the back of the property, or at some point caught by wildlife and moved to a more protected area, like a state park or protected forest preserve. Love the burn and seeing so much cleared out with pushing over all those privets.. awesome at so much you have now been able to do since getting your orange Kubota! look forward to the next video..
I'm slowly getting my bearings. I always thought the servants quarters was closer to the 'campground'. I wish you'd sketch out a map with landmarks I'm familiar with...the house, the barn, the chicken house, the campground, the pasture, the creek, the boat. I do real well with maps!
That wisteria - talk about a trip hazard! When you get rid of it, it will be a pleasure to walk around the property. Not that it isn't now, just easier. 🚶🏻♀
We got to get you a drone so we can get that good arial shot. The place looks great, Robert. I did not realize your land was so steep in some areas. You on a tractor is like me with a pair of garden shears in my hands. It is so addictive I just keep going and going. Think I am done and then I see something else that needs clipping.
Robert you answered the question that I was going to ask about getting the Wisteria from the ground!! Yipee!!! What a day...and so much accomplished. It looks better and better!
As bad as wisteria is, you don’t have kudzu!!! Kudzilla is sorta a tractor North Carolina County Extension came up with. You are doing so much at the right time when wisteria is dormant! Yay!!
You are kicking butt! I remember it well what it looked like before. It’s looking amazing at what you can see now. I feel what your feeling n I see your vision too. It gives you warm fuzzy feeling inside , doesn’t it? Your almost there to that clearing. Beautiful fire at end of video. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😊👍🌟🌟🐶
What an awesome transformation. You've really opened up the property. You should be very Proud! Your dream is finally becoming a reality 🙌 one step at a time🔥.👍💗🍻
Just goes to show that with a little persistence that uncontrolled wisteria can't withstand a controlled burn. Another great job. Your friend in Nixa, MO.
That was almost like when the N9 use to break down. Can't wait to see the aftermath of this one! That will be such a nice short cut through to the campground area; the chickens and guineas will be in 7th heaven when they see all that open land now. How you going to keep them down on the farm? 🙂
You need some drone shots to be able to show the progress of the clearing. Because it's bit and pieces here and there and arms going off in different directions I reckon some good drone footage would look really good.
The OCD part of me wants to pull all the vines down off the trees and out of the ground before I move on to the next piece. But I understand clearing the larger area takes precedent and will make future work easier.
I could smell the fire and feel the warmth of its glow. There's a certain satisfaction, in clearing land and bringing back the beauty that once was. You're doing a great just Robert. It's always nice to take a break from one project. Clearing has a therapeutic way to give strength to the more daunting.
You've had quite a productive year! The roof done, clearing of more land, house clearing and new wall built! Things are really coming together and I can't wait to see what you do this next year x
Yes I remember how it looked on your very first video Robert you have made great strides mate and I can see your vision understand that the house usually requires at least 2 ppl at times too having built our house with my husband
Awesome work 👏❤️👏mowing around the house please thank you..giggles before it’s too cold 💁🏻♀️👍❤️👍🎄🤭It Sooo Awesome 👏 what’s going on with your farm buddy 👏👍👏
Have you seen any more rattlesnakes as you've been clearing? I'm guessing that you haven't as they sense the tractor nearby and decide to leave the premises! It is rewarding to see the progress you're making clearing out the unwanted brush - especially the privet bushes and the dreaded vine that shall not be mentioned by name!
After you repositioned the camera around 20+ minutes, the sound was muffled when you talked. When you had the camera with you on the tractor, in the 34 minute range, I saw black on the back of the bucket. Either it was soot from pushing into the fire, or hydraulic oil spraying there, and getting dirt stuck to it. Or possibly just a shadow. Hopefully it was that or soot from the fire. Anyway, good to see all the progress. I had one question. When you first bought the property, or even earlier than that, do you know of actual planted privet shrubs in front of the house? There must have been some, but I don't remember seeing them in any videos. Just curious.
