and they need to put there ego away thinking they know whats best for us its time for that era to come to a end and remind them the customer is always right rule because at the end of the day we know what we want and we alone know what we want and that will never change but they keep foolishly letting there ego get in the way of common sense and wisdom and to be honest i shed no tears for them learning the hard way if that is what it has to take before they learn to humble themselves then i say why we waiting lets get this idea going the sooner the better
The problem with businesses today is their so focused on pushing their own agenda-driven products down their customers throats. And when that customer ends up complaining, which we do, we are then labeled as the bad guy and they wonder why we're no longer interested in what they're selling. There used to be a time when games that were made and sold were fun and brought a rum of escapism to our lives, but now that seems to have disappeared and they are trying to cram reality down our throat
Most outrageous one is “If you hate the new Doctor Who your raciest” even though the complaints, that I have seen, not nothing to do with The Doctor being black
I think it's a pretty big issue that these huge companies keeps acquiring a lot of the smaller studios. The quality and creativity of these acquired studios have just been going downhill and they just end up being completely shut down. It's just sad.
Right. And the smaller studios are hungry and driven to create bangers to climb the ranks and usually took much more care and time into releasing better titles.
What's even worse, are the studios that have their people fired, those people start a new studio, and then they make a new contract with the studio that fired them. Like a workaround to appease the stock holders, since stock holders only know one thing: MAKE PROFIT ALL THE TIME! I'm all for investing, but long-term outlooks have to account for economic conditions and potential bad periods. Common sense would say you're investing in companies because you believe in the companies, not just to make a short term gain, and indefinite gains under the market and economic conditions we have today are impossible to maintain over time. We'd need a completely different system that is inherently more stable if you want at least continued profits without need for growth.
Don't trust the reports on pre order sales on games like ACShadows - Suicide Squad TKTJL was reported and shown as top sellers on Playstation and look where it is now.
Also they dont want to make different stuff, they want to milk microtransactions, so they abandon games that can be single player or genres that dont qualify for micreotransactions
Sony is getting too directly involved with pushing woke agenda on exclusive games. They end up not selling as well or have massive fan backlash that negatively effects the future of their company and future products. Look at the examples of Final Fantasy 7 remake with Tifa, HellDivers, Stellar Blade costumes, etc... This is all because both companies are so woke that, as a parent of 6, I just ended up buying computers for everyone. Why give money to Xbox or Playstation when they actively hate you as a customer? I welcome them going out of business.
I agree, but there seem to be exceptions. I recently came across Synduality Noir, after watching the anime related to it, which is certainly not compliant with current Western mainstream values.
@NoidoDev theirs aren't mainstream Western values! They are values held by a hypocrite elite living in total disconnection with the rest of us. They have a fringe of very loud lunatics backing them up and a few emotionally challenged useful idiots who actually believe their crap.
Playstation was for playing obscure japanese rpgs and strategy games. They stopped existing/were bullied out by Sony. Why would anyone even get a console at this point?
Don't for get japanese hack & slash, beat-em ups, and some cartoony games that were NOT third nor first person SHOOTERS. Basically raunchy games that are more diverse like Nintendo, but more adult like Xbox.
The AAA market has an abusive relationship with it's customers. And much like most abusive relationships you got the abuser saying they had to do it and the victim defending them.
This might be something of a hot take, but.... I actually think that the female shinobi being a playable character is FAR worse than Yasuke being a playable character. If they wanted to use Yasuke AND follow history, the other player should be a male shinobi. And, if they wanted to follow history, Yasuke probably WAS some kind of warrior, but he was not a JAPANESE warrior. He was only in Japan for 3 years, and he was already trained when he showed up. So he shouldn't be using Japanese weapons and DEFINITELY shouldn't be using Japanese martial arts. But they COULD have used him in the game! But a female shinobi....??? That's just another kick in the nuts to Japanese males. Female shinobi would have used friendship, sex, and poisons. They would NOT have been climbing around and stabbing and punching.
hmm...isn't the entire point of a ninja to be unexpected and able to vanish? who would expect a woman to be an assassin at that point in time? iirc they often posed as peasants in the countryside to blend into the crowd. Moving unrecognized seems a lot harder for the 2m black dude in feudal japan...
@@ndchunter5516 That's what they did. Women were used to get close to opponents. They were far more valuable as information gatherers and counter-informants. The women would not have been involved in combat. And Yasuke could be written in as a warrior or assassin from his OWN tribe or sect from outside of Japan. But if you want ACTION ESPIONAGE in your AC game, you need a MALE shinobi.
@@lostsoul7345 Yeah, probably. A good writer could probably find a way to write in a woman of action. But throughout history, women didn't fight. It's just a fact. True, some women of Samurai station were trained to use a spear, but that was purely for defense of their land while the men were away.
I recently joined the nobility. I can say the pc communities are more united and willing to fight with their wallet against these corporations. Unlike console gamers...As a former console gamer it saddest me. However, I agree with your statement.
Lol, got a comedian here. Funnier than dave Chapelle. They do say ignorance is bliss. But yes, will enjoy crappy ports with the max settings, unlimited frames, communities with epic modders, and a group that's united instead of being divided. Thanks for the laughs, buddy.
Companies like Shift Up will thrive. Stellar Blade sold over a million copies in the first 24 hours. Here's hoping that they've learned their lesson and will abandon KuSony for Stellar Blade 2.0!
It will collapse for money grubbers and business heads, we the gamers and game developers will move on forwards without them making a much better industry.
I think the main reason why the industry is collapsing is because the people who understood 10 years ago how their product worked and what made people buy it have been replaced by people who don't.
About time. We're in a 1983 configuration. Video game krach happened because too many game systems were released at the same time, they were all look-alike, uninventive, overpriced, and nobody considered the reality of the market. Customers turned their heads towards other entertainment forms, and it nearly disappeared. Would have if Japan hadn't taken over. Here, we have an overabundance of bad products, because they feel unpolished or unfinished, or just because the gameplay is unimaginative and bland, and the story unappealing. They cost an arm and a leg, corporate greed knows no bounds, and they're sold in pieces (DLC's). Just like the old 2nd gen consoles that were packed with useless gadgets that no-one bought, like voice packs (and they cost nigh as much as the gaming system). Also, there are too many confusing options, a game is just not released, there is version X, Y, Z, ZZ', and the customer is lost, because it's trying to trick you. The final nail in the coffin in 1983 had been the ET game noone wanted. Back then the industry ignored all signs as well as the reality of the market, and they blew up mid-flight. It's doing the same again, ignoring the warnings of the customer base, ignoring bad results. Daddy Black Rock's money will stop flowing one day, when they realize noone gives a shit about their forced propaganda and noone buys.
Gaming was dead since it started being mainstream, remember when we used to get marginalized for being "gamers" ? Those were the golden days of gaming. The first sign of the end were DLC's, people were complaining about it because "expansions" should be in the base game already, now it's normal in order to have the full experience of a game we need to get 1 or 2 season passes for 1 game, now the next step is this, 3 days early access with 120€/$, thank the normies and casuals for ruinning this industry, even some developpers who went in the industry expecting a corporate / money environment and forgetting about the creativity, art and passion that are required to make a good game. Coding/programming is only a small part of what makes a good game.
current state of the gaming industry: - AAA games are trash - Indie games are rising on steam - Retro games still can be played on PC thats why i do this: - buy indie and AA games exclusively on steam - collect retro games on GOG - emulate games that lost to time - and only buy microtransactions in DRM free games
I think we are about 1-2 years away from a total woke collapse of gaming. Once it collapses then companies can start fresh and listen to what people want.
Pretty stupid when a lot of the people who say things like "let people do what they want with their money" are the same people who complain about pay to win mechanics.
1:42 Interesting…I can’t recall how many years back this was, but I recall being told by a Walmart employee that they were working not only on a PS4, but also a PS5 and even a PS6.
The 2000's was definitely the best era of gaming, not saying there's no good games out now, but the entire gaming space back then was way more fun and companies took risks and experimented. Everything is so streamlined now that there's no more room for innovation or experimentation in the pursuit of the cold hard dollar. And as much hate (rightfully so) as Nintendo gets for all their legal bullshit, they seem to be the only ones making games to be fun.
I agree with your take on the new assassins creed. First and foremost for me, how is a man supposed to blend in and be incognito when he's the only black dude in the whole country? Walking through town, he would be spotted and made out instantaneously by any guards or hostiles, unless he has a hood on actively turning his face away from anyone's view. And at that point you just look sketchy enough to question. It does seem as if minimal thought was put into this before the corporate money mongering shitbags said "Send it!" to the developers. I guess if they had used a Japanese man, it would be an exact rip-off of Ghost of Tsushima. Maybe they just shouldn't have gone with Japan this time around.
Only the AAA industry, the anti-consumer corporations with propaganda, paid cheats and pay-to-win, are collapsing. All pro-consumer companies, from solo developers to mid-sized, are having excellent sales if their games have decent quality. That is a reckoning that is to be welcomed.
Exclusives aren't "necessary" for a console to sell well. Uncensored games, well-supported games, consumer-friendly games that customers can "OWN" are what makes a console sell well. What's killing consoles now is the business approach they are doing by applying the same thing the AAA industry is doing to PC games onto the console-first games. Bigger, larger, huge bloated budget and employee count (out of catering to the requirements of ESG-DIE investments), or just outright buying studios because the main company is no longer capable of making their own good software, all of these are what's killing consoles. If you go back to the PS1, PS2, you can see that a ton of games for those consoles aren't even close to AAA or AA quality. And yet there's A LOT of them. This is because the game devs were supported or at least allowed to stretch their legs in making their games in the way they want to, limited only by the console hardware and software. If you look at Sony's Vita, they basically killed the handheld by stifling the game developers who are the ones who make the games that extend the console's lifespan. And we all know how that ended up compared to the PSP.
Console player for decades before I made the switch to PC and I will never go back to console When it comes to games I will only buy games new that doesn’t have some stupid message built into it and if it does then they better sell it below £10 before I look for mods that can be used to fix the game before I will consider it
ghost of sushimas size is fine but tie alot of those places into game systems. 100% ghost of sushima is a bit of a slog at village 65+ though I admit that
Yeah they should have kept selling consoles at a loss, I mean, look at the low population to sell exclusive games nowadays. If the console was cheaper, more people would buy it and people would have the choice to buy their exclusive games. Most people hates sony nowadays anyway, even between those who buys the console, because sony just keeps censoring everything, and in doing so, giving a lower product to their customers.
The only one exclusives titles are good for are the companies selling the consoles while the ones who suffer from it are gamers in general. So if you are not part of the company like Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo it is plain stupid to support exclusives using twisted logic.
It's crazy It's almost as if GAMERS just want to enjoy GAMES without activists inserting theirselves and ideologies into an entertainment medium. How weird huh?
you're forgetting one other point that is going on: Too many games i have about 20 games right NOW that i have yet to finish playing and there are more coming out still. and this doesn't even get into the fact that there are countless retro games to take people time. There's jsut too many games in today's market . oh yeah it's gonna crash. You don't stick an elphant on a pin head and expect it to work out.
i still have my old ultra slim ps3, wich i hacked and put tons of game iso inside by changing the hard drive . . tons of game for free, profit . fuck sony with their exclusivity bullshiet, and overpriced console, at the same prince can alsmot make a good starter computer. Also what's wrong with AMD APU, they make good graphic cards, equivalent or even better than nvideo sometime . .
What's important to understand that they don't look at the rejection of their bs as a loss, but rather a long-term investment. If they just keep brute-forcing these tactics, then latter gen-z and gen-alpha will only know it as the standard, and they'll willingly accept it.
Best move for gamers to make is to start supporting small indie studios as they are making real games, not this slop major studios shovel to their sheeple. By supporting small indie studios, it gives the studio a chance to stay private so these major studios can't buy them and then shut them down...unless they know a way to keep the IPs for their games and just make a new studio that uses those IPs
Meanwhile I have an absolutely massive backlog keeping me preoccupied. Anytime I see a new release I’m interested in, it goes to the back of the queue and I’ll buy it when I get there. Usually, it’s a fraction of the price by then too.
I am really disappointed with my PS5. I was one of the first to get it, and I thought I was lucky. But now, all I have (with very few exceptions) is PS4 games that look a bit better.
Keep in mind that the people publishing the pre-order sales are the people who are selling the game and announced by the biased gaming websites. Don't trust the Bang. Wait for the Echo. It will be the same game a month after it releases.
I don’t see that the people who are trashing Ubisoft for not honoring Japanese history and culture are even worrying about the price of the game. Why? Because THEY WILL NOT BUY IT!! Why would you care about the price of the game if you are not going to buy it?
What isn't being said is that Bethesda is the company who caused all those other companies to collapse. Their mismanagement is legendary, and no explanation is needed.
Consoles should sell because people like them and not because of Exclusives. We are past the age of exclusives. We are in the cross platform age and they can adapt or die financially.
I appreciate the Switch and its current 9 year life cycle. Looks like the Switch will run 10 years before the release of Switch 2. As a guy that plays lots of indies and smaller games, I am all over a console like that.
Yeah, AAA and top end of the industry got too focused on making All the money instead of just making fun and creative experiences while making huge money. Chasing profits pushed them to run off their creative talent for cheap workers and chase tested trends. That all comes from fundamentally not understanding the game market or what the customers want. You can't innovate a creative process by trying to turn it into an assembly line factory where you charge your customer for every part and virtue signal them for not liking it.
Thank god we have PS4, developers still need to optimize their games for PS4 if they need to sell there. And almost every game which sells on PS4 have good optimization
I think I've been seeing videos of the collapse of gaming industry since the last leg of the PS3/360 Gen. Yet here we are, still saying that the sky is falling. I mean, as this point these are no better than the crazy guy carrying "The End is Nigh" sign.
i think we don't require huge buget high graphics game a game should be fun and innovative. Yesterday i completed the game sleeping dogs, hella fun. I was totally invested. Tbh a game requires relatable villains, edgy/likable mcs, out of the world story, which can be waky too. But the point is that they should lower the budget choose people with actual brains. Unless the future is grim. I don't miss the old days, I miss the way the games represented the culture around us and defined a generation of people the fun of playing such games. BTW I don't condemn buying latest games if you wanna play. Get it from somewhere else, for we must not waste money on slotmachines.
If exclusives are necessary for consoles to sell well, then consoles don't deserve to exist. Consumers are basically paying for the games twice on exclusives and considering the ridiculously high prices and piss poor content currently, I'd rather burn my apartment to the ground than pay for a console. It just seems better for both my wallet and mental health.
For me it was God of War Ragnarok. I bought it on PS4, but knew it would be a barometer of what to expect for the PS5. If it was good, i was going to buy a PS5. But i hated it. I RACED home to play God of War 2018 when it was out. I couldn't wait to progress. Then Ghost of Tsushima, and Sekiro and more. Ragnarok came out and i was SO excited. Playing that game made Sonys vision for the PS5 so clearr to me and i don't want anything to do with it. Im not paying 600 bucks to watch woke movies.
it'll only be the AAA industry collapsing. and that is ok. we'll still have sufficient games of indie/aa games. what they'd expect when making current games that have less features, less polish, worse stories, more garbage self insert characters. while at the same time they keep increasing the prices while giving us increasingly worse products. then more and more AAA studio's coming out with the nonsense that games are no longer made for gamers. well OK then we have even less reason to buy their garbage.
Hi Percy, do not agree with game companies the people that make the consoles shouldn’t be allowed to buy game studios.. they make the machines and the studios should stay independent and open so they can put their game on any device. It’s up to us which device does better…
What's the difference between Western AAA slop and East Asian mobile games? The East Asian mobile games give you good looking characters while Western AAA slop gives you gay black Samurais. The monetization is practically the same.
They are not buying studios, they are buying the people that created A great game. then those people leave, Then it's not the company they bought anymore.
