I never saw you actually using the winch on the video. I saw you setting it up and then tge Sago was out of the ground lying on its side. I wanted to see the pulling the most.
I would use a mini ex if it was available and you have room for the machine. Not much on resale unless you're able to market them and deliver/ install.
My huge sago palm has extremely sharp needles. You couldn't pick up the palm fronds with your hand like he's doing. Mine have to be handled individually and very carefully!

As long as there aren't any small "pups" left growing around the area, you should be good. Pups are the baby plants that might be growing connected to or near the mother plant.
