It might be a way to extend the life of shows that only have one thing wrong with them, whether you keep or donate them. Also, be careful with those plastic sheets in your boots. Best to put a couple of rubber bands on them first, otherwise they can stretch out your boots after a while and they might not fit your leg as well anymore.
