Dude, nick robertson is going to be a top goal scorer in the nhl, he’s very much a good option for top 6. He’s got a chip on his shoulder, determined, and still has a lot more to give and it was evident he was getting comfortable in finding his game at end of season and playoffs. He puts up goals with very limited ice time, the only way to learn and grow is by playing, if you don’t give him the chance , he’s not going to improve.

JAKE DEBRUSK, Younger, cheaper, similar numbers to Bertuzzi anyway and were gaining an excellent player overall and taking one leaf killer away from Boston. Boston could be another team we face next season, so why not take one of their big guns away right?
mixed feelings on Bertuzzi, didnt produce in the playoffs like people were expecting. Get Debrusk and Montour . Any additions taken away from Bruins/Panthers is a double win

@johnsummerhill8323 They had slow starts, and were integral 1st liners with Matthews Probably the 2 best leafs come playoffs. Marner ain't going nowhere, so keeping them on the 1st line is a must.
Could the Leafs get around the salary cap by signing guys like Bertuzzi to long deals like 3x12 years instead of 6x6years and then just ship him off to robidas island for years 7-12? Player gets their bag, team saves cap space. Win/win
Bertuzzi is grittier, tenacious in the corners and in front of the goalie.Debrusk is more skiled and seems to be a playoof stud. Tough call. Sign them both. Marner is on the way out as well as others. We'll have cap space.
Dream world here, bare with me. If the Leafs can get Domi, Debrusk & Dakota Joshua all for under $12m in total. That seriously upgrades the toughness and production. Hopefully flip Marner for a Starting goalie & top 4 D-Man. Could still theoretically have $6m in cap after that to pursue another top 4 D
