I see some of the comments saying that she should be happy with a 3.9 or how your parents don’t reward you for it. To each their own but Karli set a goal for herself, she wants to maintain a 4.0 throughout high school so instead of telling her it’s not a big deal how about help her out with some tips
Same I thought of the same thing because she actually wants to do good like be I m good with a b because that’s my set of goal since I can’t reach an A but I try not to get a C
If she wants to get into Columbia, she HAS to take honors and AP classes and still get A's in those or do really good on the SAT/ACT. If they see you have good grade but in regular classes, it won't impress them. Also, do lots of clubs and community services because that looks really good for college. Great job on your grades though!
every time I go out for dinner with my friends.. we all put our phones on the table first phone to get a notification pays for dinner. Best idea ever! we all had the best time not being on our phones
we do that too but not the paying for dinner thing. that’s ridiculous because you can’t control your notifications and like someone else said i go out with my 7 friends all the time and most meals are anywhere from 7-20 dollars so that would be way too expensive
I’m the EXACT same way as Karli! I am so particular with my grades and my GPA! I push myself so hard with academics just like her and I do the same thing with calculating my grades! I’m not one to do bad on test or quizzes, but I didn’t do so hot on my Honors English exam either! Not horrible, but definitely not what I wanted! I know you will get your GPA back up to what you want Karli...you are a very smart girl! Just keep pushing! I currently have a 4.3 GPA and I completely understand how stressful it is to try to keep your desired GPA! You got this girl!!! I love you guys! 💕
I definitely didn’t get straight A’s this year and it’s also my freshman year. But, I’m planning for 2nd semester. I will because now I know what to exspect😂
Karli if you want to do better in English you got to read more, get the main idea, know what inference is, expand your vocabulary and utilize context clues!!! English isn’t hard but like math you can study for it. If you want that 4.0 you got to read like you want it too
Karli, a 4.0 is not needed. Sure it’s easier to get in middle school but in high school it can be unrealistic. If your friends have 4.0’s but take easier classes you shouldn’t compare your self to them. A 3.8 or 3.9 is still really good, and the fact that you are taking honors classes proves it. Colleges don’t care if you have a straight 4.0, they look to see if you were taking challenging courses while maintaining A’s and B’s.
it is not unrealistic to have a 4.0 in high school, I graduated with a 4.5 gpa with high honors. Sure a 3.8 or a 3.9 isn’t bad, but if she wants a 4.0+ she can do it! She has to take those honors and AP courses, for those classes bump up your gpa!!
raeanne yes some people are capable of doing it, but others aren’t able to. For me personally I work a lot so finding time to do homework and study is hard. Obviously I still strive to get good grades but I don’t beat my self up over a B+. As for Karli she seems to be busy often with RU-vid and other projects, for which takes time away from studying. If she wants a 4.0 that’s up to her, just commenting that In some situations it’s not always attainable.
bo johnson I completely understand that, but I still don’t think you should say it’s unrealistic. I 100% think Karli is capable of achieving a 4.0+ because she has a great work ethic (from what I see on RU-vid). Believe me, I struggled all throughout high school because of a learning disability I have. The average person could take 2 hours to finish their homework, but it would take me 2x longer. There’s a lot more I struggled with due to my situation, but I still did it! Not trying to start drama or invalidate you or your grades but I’m just saying!
I went to a magnet school for high school and lost my 4.0 the first semester of freshman year and i was DEVASTATED. I ended up graduating with a 3.78 and still got into some amazing schools and received a lot of really good scholarships! a 4.0 isn’t everything in high school! as long as you do your best, you’ll end up wherever you’re supposed to be!!
it’s hard to keep a 4.0 in high school. freshman year i had a 4.0 and graduated with a 3.0 so do stress about it because honestly it isn’t worth it and almost feel like colleges don’t look at that very much. i got excepted to 3 colleges do not sure because of my gpa but mostly because i did extra curriculums in school as well.
A tip for Karli for English is, if they read novels, definitely read the novel, and not look it up on Spark Notes (I'm sure she reads the books anyway, but just putting emphasis on it). Also, you can get small sticky notes, and put some or one on a page that has important information for future assignments/tests, etc. Just a sticky to remember where it is, and then she can color-code them if she likes. As for science, drawing out the mechanisms, and looking up youtube videos, helps out a lot! Congrats to Karli, and I wish her the best of luck. Very smart girl!
Karli, it’s really easy to get such high grades when you take all non-honors/AP classes. That doesn’t make you stand out at all to colleges. If you want to get into Columbia you need to push yourself and take hard classes, then try to keep the grades up.
Lauren Huffstetler dude chill with the overly feminist vibe, girls just get more attention in general especially since she is the only girl in house full of boys
I don’t understand why the comments are always complaining about how the kids are spoiled? Like so what candy likes to spoil her kinda let them live. My parents spoil us but we still have standards and expectations that we have to meet. And that seems like what they do for what they’re children. But people need to understand that everyone raises their children differently. You parents might raise you differently than others so stop trying to make candy raise her kids like your parents raised you. It’s just dumb
Congratulations on your 4.0 GPA Karli Reese on your first year in high school and the answer to the question of the day is Olive Garden I like eating the salad and bread sticks and the chicken Alfredo with lemon water.
Good job to Karli for keeping her grades up and keeping a goal. I remember when i had a 3.0+ in my freshman year, that didn't last long , but fk it i graduated. QOTD: Any good mexican place here or the Taco truck down the street, chipotle is laughable.
Karli, you shouldn’t worry about it too much, junior year probably would’ve screwed up your GPA anyway😂 speaking as an exhausted junior dying of stress✌🏻😂
I have a 4.0 gpa too..I feel as if I blew it on my English exam too bc I have a really hard strict teacher. Being in high school and trying to have a 4.0 gpa on top of all other stresses is really hard
where I live an A- is still considered an A and worth the same amount of points in your gpa so I was so confused when she thought she lost her 4.0 cuz here that still is one. so anything from a 89.5 to a 100+ is an A lol
I had a 4.0 but then my history teacher put all the work in for the semester and I’m sitting at an 89% and I’m hoping she will bump it so I get that 4.0
J. Alexander's is a chain. The one close to me has changed to a Redlands Grill, but I think it is still owned by the same company. I used to eat there fairly regularly, but I have not been since it has changed.
My favourite place isa Mexican restaurant if you ever come back to Vegas (I’m from Vegas) you should try it it’s called el burrito you should try if you like Mexican food even a little.
Hi guys, theres a glitch again. I am subscribed to get notifications and I was waiting only to find out this video was uploaded an hour ago and I never got a notification.
that’s not very fair to tell chase “that’s what you get when you get straight A” some ppl aren’t capable. my family treats me differently than my sister. i don’t get the best grades (passing still lol) and my sister gets A’s my parents know to not put AS MUCH pressure on me as my sister who gets straight A’s. bc i have ADHD and it’s hard to get A’s. no matter how hard i try. as long as they see i’m not slacking, and i’m passing my classes, they will reward me for trying.
Faded Gamer - Adults are rewarded with raises in their paychecks because they do a good job and do it right. They are expected to do their job good and right. With your theory........They shouldn't get those raises because they are expected to do a good job anyway. Think about it, giving out raises and rewards not only gives adults and children incentives but gives them a sense of appreciation and drive.
based on the level of karlis classes even having a 4.0 doesn’t do much because she doesn’t take advanced level classes it’s better to take harder classes and get a 3.75, be in after school clubs, and sports as well! I really think Karli should think about starting a dance team at her high school because it would show that on her transcript that she is a great leader and is really passionate about dance!! PS I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND PLEASE TELL KARLI THIS BC I THINK IT COULD REALLY HELP
Good job Karli. I hope you appreciate it and thanking your parents and giving them a hugs. I always orders chicken tenders no matter what any restaurants I go.
