Tree forts are a thing of the past. Tree nets only take some climbing rope and a TON of paracord and a TON of time! Please don't fall out of trees! I buy my paracord at amzn.to/2yk164V

I'm almost 50...my Dad brought home about 2000 sq feet of cargo net from a play ground his company was re-doing when I was 12. My brother and I strung it through an enormous Sycamore and Pecan tree that were growing in our yard. Our friends would come over and we would play tag in the trees and across the roof of the barn that was under some of the limbs. The rule was that you could not touch ground...5 or 6 of us could play at the time. Some of the best times of my life.

That is an incredible amount of work and material. If I heard correctly he estimated that one tree contained 100,000 ft of paracord. At $75 per 1000 ft spool that is $7,500 just for the paracord!

Thanks so much for making these amazing videos! I'm gonna build one in my yard. I ordered some paracord. What kind of rope should we use for the perimeter? Nylon? Polyester? Looks like you all use retired climbing ropes... I don't think we have access to that many so we need to order something inexpensive but safe. Thoughts?
@chrismuntean
@chrismuntean 4 года назад
really any climbing rope you can find. If your putting one up pretty high with limited branches you might want to make sure you buy a legit CE rated rope and shit like that so you clip into it. Personally I wanted a legit rope so I bought this 100ft static rope for my perimeter: amzn.to/2SfL8PJ

@50StichesSteel 4 года назад
@@CaleyEichenlaub That's kind of what I was trying to get people to avoid...The Walmart "paracord"..Fine for non weight bearing tasks, but if you go through all the trouble of weaving a tree net, I would want it to last...Wasn't even a specific thing about the video..Sometimes you have to watch getting 550 cord online that's all I meant..Take care

That’s gonna be a huge mess for whoever has to cut down that tree. Enjoy it while it lasts. You’d be better off learning some tree climbing techniques and removing it yourself. Any arborist is gonna charge a fortune to remove that. Buy a pair of spurs and a cheap harness with side rings and send it
@lyellw571
@lyellw571 2 года назад
If someone needed a net like that removed… That would be so much fun! Such a satisfying challenge. Not that I would want to see anything like that removed, just saying as a climbing arborist who loves pruning, I disagree
