I have high hopes for this game. Pilstedt knows what's up. He's not just reversing changes for the sake of it, he's having talks and figuring out what led them to make those mistakes in the first place. That shows a commitment to understanding, rather than simply reacting, and says a lot about how things are gonna be going from now on

Ok, but some of those 'mistakes' weren't mistakes. Some are, such as the Eruptor change not being ideal. The crossbow change could have been better without the splash nerf (since this change compounded ire of the other nerfs). They were also pretty far off on their starting point of some weapons, as some needed 50% DPS buffs. Like the railgun deserved the giant nerf bat. It perhaps should've gotten buffed maybe a patch sooner, and also needs another small buff. But that is just nitpicks.

They're realizing now that they were, and they're discussing what led them to make those mistakes in the first place. I see this as an even better outcome than if they simply took feedback and implemented whatever people said to do. They're taking time to analyze and think it through, so that they can do better going forward. It's a good sign, and will potentially do more good than just changing a few things right now ever could

Me and my partner are barely making it through level 5 missions as a duo. Don't have any room to goof around cause one death causes an endless reinforcement loop. I'm looking forward to the fun being less difficult to find again

@@ten-xlegacy4033 What was leading the game in the wrong direction? Railgun nerf didn't lead the game down a wrong path. Quasar nerf didn't lead the game down a wrong path. Breaker only lost 3 rounds in the magazine and got more recoil, and it was nerf during a time when the meta was beyond toxic. Only thing I see as the wrong direction is that they have done too many nerfs in short succession and have thus got the community expecting everything to get nerfed. Albeit two of those weren't meant to be nerfs. Eruptor wasn't meant as a nerf but a low effort fix of the shrapnel problem; but they messed that up horribly. And the crossbow wasn't meant as a nerf, but a sidegrade, but they should have avoided the splash damage decrease so people didn't add it to the nerf list. Negativity bias is an extremely strong effect and the devs didn't account for it. They can add as many buffs as they like, but those merely become the new baseline; meanwhile every nerf creates an uproar. The biggest mistakes the devs made recently wasn't in weapon balance, but in the patrol spawn rate being increased for single and duo play. Didn't increase weapon variety. And wasn't necessary, as solo and duos already had enough patrols to deal with.

The devs need to remember that this is a PVE game. They have been buffing/nerfing stuff more than CoD has done in 24 months which makes absolutely no sense. Update from below after people lost it: I stand by what I wrote. Adjusting the difficulty of a game like Helldivers 2 can be done in mutiple ways that are far less controversial than adjusting the weapons. For example by changing the stats of the enemies (damage/speed/health) or the frequency/count they spawn etc. It would be way easier to fine-tune it that way, especially on a mission by mission level and it even opens up for A/B-testing. Changing the weapons all the time makes no sense what so ever, unless there are some things that are broken. Look for example at breaches/bot drops. You could easily tweak the count/type/cooldown, you name it. There are so many parameters in this game that could be tweaked instead of just making erratic changes to the weapons.

Because they expected 20k players max. Then they got half a mil concurrent with over 10 million copies sold. They had to immediately rethink the whole balance of the game, including planet liberation, spawn rates etc to account for the sheer amount of players. The game needs to be fun yet challenging and I imagine they had to start rethinking their whole approach when player count went through the roof.

The only things they’ve really done to need weapons has been reduced magazines for practically infinite ammo rifles and balanced the rail gun. It was op af. Same with the quasar. It made other weapons obsolete. It still does even with an increased cooldown. The one rifle Eruptor mess was an attempted fix. Womp womp. Other than, there hasn’t been anything meaningful nerf wise. The rail gun nerf was actually positive because the player base had to grow and learn not to rely on the rail gun crutch. They’ve made a couple of missteps, but the nerfs were not bad and there have been loads of buffs. It’s disheartening to see the communities poor reactions to many things.

Slower but higher quality releases is the way to go, balance/bug fix patches every 2-4 weeks and content patches every 4-6 weeks would be better if they are more sustainable for the developers

well i would argue that 2-4 weeks is better than the latter. We can see this in overwatch 2, which is renonwned for how bad playing tanks and certain heroes are, due to patches coming in so slow. Patches that come in 2-4 weeks would make it so that players wldnt have to wait too long for patches, while allowing the players to adjust and make proper critiques on it

Higher quaility might mean more expensive warbonds aswell. makes sense to me that warbonds would cost 2k super credits if they are released with double the time in between. Or that you find half the amount of SC in mission. Same outcome in terms of economy balance.

A little mech workshop on the ship would be awesome. Let players attach different weapons to each arm like double flamethrowers if they wanna burn some bugs or double auto cannon to shred bots, could even have ballistic shield arms to give teammates mobile cover. As long as Joel can keep the enemies in a nice spot so that an major changes/buffs don't trivialize the pve the possibilities are endless.

Funny enough there is a section on the ship labeled for mechs. If you stand on the lift and turn around there on the right side are two additional sections of the ship one is labeled mechs and the other is labeled vehicles. So those might open in the future it’s just when the devs want to open it is the problem.

If you look under the "Known Issues" section for this latest patch, they've practically announced they're going to buff the Tenderizer as it is doing "too little damage" and is not in the state they are intending.

Biggest problem with the game. Every single weapon in the game that has come from a Warbond is either borderline useless or is fun... Then gets nerfed into paste. What's the point in buying any of these Warbonds if the weapons just turn crap or already are crap? Both Deomcractic Detonation and the newest Bond aren't worth buying now.

I've managed to play with pre nerfed eruptor for just 1 week, a crossbow for 3 missions. Now I regret purchasing previous warbond, because all weapons got heavily nerfed.

​@sadghfajdslhgsadklgk it really isn't. The damage is alright, but the fire rate isn't great, and the recoil is to significant to full auto at long range, making your dps pretty awful unless they're close up.

I hadn't unlocked the crossbow by the time it was nerfed. For this reason I chose not to immediately buy the new war bond. I want to wait 2-3 weeks and see how they change them before spending real money on them.

Also meta-cringe reddit brains will exist, and kick you, regardless of the quality of the weapons you use. In fact, if all the weapons are weaker than they are now, the probability increases as the meta weapons would be "the ones that actually work" if all weapons are viable it'll take longer for reddit brains to ruin the fun

I hope the game's stability gets better with this patch. Nothing is more frustrating than being 30 minutes into a hard fought mission with a decent chunk of samples and then you disconnect right before the mission ends

Eternal load screens I encounter all the time. I could probably play an extra 3-4 missions a day at 40 minutes each just by cutting those down.

Yeah. I just uninstalled the game after 15 min of endless battle on main objective. And it is not first time. Freaking spawnfest out of nowhere straight in to your face. Game become too frustrating to play right now. I need to take a mental break. I have maxed out everything, i've keep played because i enjoyed the game but now its just a nerf fest with broken spawn system.

Please also understand that a lot players got tired of playing it day after day for weeks. A lot players might play something else as a break. And then all drama with PSN linking and balance issue also doesn't help. But I have already noticed players drop before all current the issues we're discussed. And I also took break for 2 weeks and played other games.

Yeah the devs been through a lot of stress after PSN and there trying to stand up and get on track, the reason why the game skyrocketed because of videos, TikTok, and the memes, but after awhile the hype died down. And after the fallout show people definitely switched over to there games. The players were going to drop anyways because that’s every live service games. Goes the same with FN, apex, overwatch, among us, etc. But even then, still enjoy the quality of the game compared to other live service games

Honestly i think people who played for 500+ hours (!) are just burnt out. They think it's not fun because devs messed up something but in reality game just doesn't feel fresh to them anymore and they're tired. Too bad they are the ones that shape community consensus.

I hit 250 hours and I was playing for over a week daily with all upgrades, warbonds complete, samples/medals/req. capped just for the fun of it right up until the April 29th nerf patch. 3 of my 4 load out items got hit and it became more of a grind than fun. Add in the Sony nonsense as the cherry on top. I am currently account suspended for TOS violations after closing my PSN account this past Saturday just as an extra FU from Sony.

I still tried to play a couple solos a night during my lunchbreak but the increased spawn rate + all my favorite weapons being broken or shite + I hate SMG/AR/Shotgun gameplay means I "burnt out". I wasn't having fun. I'm still not having fun.

People talk of "burn out" when in fact it's the objective fact the game has had all the fun nerfed out of it. Even the CEO acknowledges "as soon as someone finds something fun, we remove the fun". It's not burn out, it's refusing to play a game that has changed so much that the fun no longer exists - or is so infrequent it doesn't warrant playing.

Did you not watch the rest of the video? The dev team is absolutely burnt out. They expects to have 10k peak players and they are the fastest selling playstation game of all time. They are literally struggling on multiple fronts. And all you can do is sit and moan. Just crack on anyway, have some dignity instead of whining. They'll get to it as they are doing and have been doing.

6:26 This is what infuriates me to no end with this game. They want you to be super accurate yet the recoil, flinch, sway and handling all work against you and on top of that, they want to rain enemies down on you. Couple that with the constant weapon nerfs that makes dealing with them a chore and it gets very unfun very fast.

@@rupertbear4447 Don't trigger so many patrols then? Fight what you've got and try your damn best not to bring in everything else. Most randos just keep running around, stand your ground and fight! Remember you've got a bag of tricks a mile wide to use; grenades, smokes, stuns, flames of all sorts, lightning bolts, turrets and cannon shells raining down from the sky with absolute impunity. Every single diver is a one man army. Too many little bugs? Bring some wide area attacks to swat them, team not listening? Walk. The. Hell. Away. Big bugs? They can EAT this and smoke off. TLDR? Don't trigger a mess when you can be smarter about how you engage. Big swarms are a result of bad trigger discipline or bad target priorities. Chargers, and Bile titans are not the most dangerous shit out there, those little scavenger bastards are, cause they keep calling more in.

@@KillFrenzy96 If you're accurate with your shots the DR CS is king at the moment due to one shotting devastators to the head. Take the redeemer and switch to semi to handle the smaller infantry and strategems for the heavies.

I really hope they can get it right, this game has absolutely incredible potential! Spawns of patrols in particular (even at 4 players) is a huge one as well as weapon balancing.

It’s does make sense to balance weapons in a way that will make players mix and match and not just stick with meta loadouts, but in a way that makes those weapons un-usable is completely absurd. There has to be “balance” in a sense were the tweaking is not to much buts just right, and finding that medium ground is a bit of work. Props for them listening to the community and actually considering so major changes

Wish they would stop trying to “balance” every gun I would rather they made every gun viable and fun to use and instead drastically reduced the amount of reinforcements at higher difficulty. People already at those difficulties are so good at the game, reducing reinforcements will make the game more about survival and working together that it won’t matter if the gun is overpowered. One wrong strategic mistake should set your team back, not the gun you’re using.

The problem is they see a large part of the player base using a specific weapon or two or three and nerf them trying to bring up the usage of the others, but the reason that meta appeared in the first place was that the others were so bad as to not be effective. They're balancing the wrong end.

IMO they need to buff things sure, but also need to evaluate some functionalities/interactions, I`m going to give a few examples. -Have it so the ammo backpack can refill turret strategems. -Have it so you can call in ammo box for the Mech, so it can be repaired and re-armed. -Adjust the CD on strategems, some of the CD makes zero sense, why the 380mm has the same CD as the 120mm? -Add variations instead of punishments for planets traits, like, the AA that makes you lose 1 strategem? Yes but also you get (-50% CD on turret stratems, has an example). Or you can`t use Eagle Strikes, but all other strategems are dropped faster and the barrages have double the ammo. Strategems takes longer to deploy but now you can carry 5 instead of 4. -Make it so the Heavy Machine Gun can pierce Bots armor, any bot armor, except the Factory Strider, also it should pen chargers and Bile Titans. Improve existing stragems, like Eagle Rocket, make it so it attacks twice instead of just once, this can be an upgrade that uses samples.

They nerfed the damage, destruction capability and the stagger. Now the first 2 nerfs i can consider but nerfing its stagger which was it's sole ability was not justified and had nothing to do with it "being a sniper" it's nerf made no sense to the reason

Did anyone else miss everything he said at the beginning because of the hilariously distracting gameplay? Uses all impact grenades, misses the fabricator vents with all of them. Gets a bot drop on his head, and is forced to bail out. Throws an eagle as a parting gift (middle finger). Tries to take on a hulk with laser cannon. Hulk doesnt notice as the guy is dolphin diving like its going out of style because we all know that Liber-Tea is extremely flammable when exposed to a hulks flame thrower. Him jumping in the water was totally diliberate and you know it. He survives that circus only to be confronted by a heavy devastator, whose shield doesn't care how cool your laser cannon looks and who received next-gen aiming code from his cyborg ancestors. I'm not trolling this guy, because we've all been there, and that's what makes it funny.

Funny, the devs use to make fun of the community for complaining about weapon nerfs, now that player count is dropping, they're finally listening (I'm aware of the 180 countries with no access that's affecting player count too). Hopefully it's not too late to save the game

I just want the more of the warbond weapons to be more viable, and the strategems to be geared for handling the more armored enemies to a better degree. They don’t want us to use the same strategy, but if they nerf everything we’re ONLY going to use what works. I still love the game, but that needs to change fr, so I’m glad they’re at least meeting about it.

I want to be able to set presets at the screen where you choose stratagems. Like 3 or 4 presets where I can set my primary/secondary weapon and armor; and maybe even set stratagems to be pre-loaded in the select screen. I hate hitting R to drop into a random game only to find I have a bug loadout and I'm fighting bots, or vice versa. I'd also like to be able to click 1 button and load a set of stratagems I frequently use together.

It didn't take them weeks to remove the fun from every weapon, this delay on making weapons fun to use again is just going to lose them more players in order to satisfy the lead balance dev's pride at being a know-it-all that is never wrong. His attitude ruined one game in the past and its well on the way for Helldivers as well.

The balances issue is weird because most of this things were sort out in Helldivers 1, most of the weapons felt good and powerful, mechs were amazing and you had a small window to exit the vehicle before it exploded etc.

At the very least, all ARs need a dmg buff of 5-10 and a magazine capacity increase of 15-30 rounds based upon the role it should be fulfilling. The main reason for just these two stats increases is that your trigger time vs what you effectively kill is currently awful, (it's why the Sickle feels good despite obvious trouble with healthier targets). For example... The Tenderizer: +5 dmg, +30 rounds... It's role is to clear up small targets with its light armor pen. You'll still dump a considerable amount of ammo into a brood commander but you'll kill it within a full mag. It's a waste of ammo but you can do it and not feel hopeless. The Adjudicator: +10 dmg, +15 rounds... It's role is the heavier targets in the group, so you should be able to put them down quickly and not feel like you are mag dumping to kill just 1 or 2. You can killing the smaller bugs but like above, it would be a waste of ammo. ARs also just lack variety or characteristics that set them apart and create reasons to pick one over there other, imo you either take the Sickle or the Adjudicator as there is no reason to pick any of the other ARs. The Shotguns on the other hand have a lot more varied characteristics that separates them. There is a reason and scenario why you would pick 1 particular shotgun over the other but each have legitimate use as they each perform their role well. To prove this look at the Arc Blitzer, the Slugger(FFS bring the stagger back), and Plasma Punisher, each have a dmg of 250 but each fill a role well and are effective against certain enemies. Slugger is a great general use for both bugs and bots with Med armor pen, the blitzer is fantastic against the close encounters with ammo eating bugs, and the plasma punisher is extremely effective at killing and staggering all bots except the Hulk. Adding some characteristics to the ARs would also allow you to fiddle around more with dmg and magazine capacity, like a 100dmg AR with 60 mag capacity but it has a 5-round burst, great for mediums and up but crap for fodder. It's ok to specialize so long as it fulfills it's role well and feels distinct.

I figured out a tech with the r-36 eruptor where if you dive and shoot close to the ground it can give you extra space with no damage, but if you aim closer to your feet you get completely ragdolled and take damage, but it is countered with a stim before hand. Spread the word as no one listened to me.

i know the AH is a small team but they need to tone down warbond release so they dont get overwhelmed with all the weapons that they need to balance...im worry that they will give us 100 weapons and only 10 that is viable and they have to trouble themselves to balance out the rest 90 weapons on top of everything else that need fixings i think DRG is the only live service game that we don't find too much problem while playing as they take time to branch out their stuffs instead of "keep pumping out useless guns we called contents"

It's a monetary issue, teams requite a lot of funding to operate. After years in development you need to recoup your losses. Don't forget the production studio SONY in this case, is also getting a major (like 40% or more) cut of the sales. So while the devs are trying to balance everything out, they also need to feed their families like the rest of us. DLC is essentially the best way to do that and keep people interested at the same time.

Who cares if something is OP in some 4 person co-op PvE game where "progress" outside of player specific ship upgrades are shared among the entire playerbase. FFS, you don't even need to log on and contribute, yet when you do log on you'll get the same rewards as some guy who played 18 hours and killed 30 thousands odd bots, who also gets the same as everyone else. Who cares if 13 year old Jimmy wants to rock "Meta" gear and post moronic 30 second clips on RU-vid/Reddit/X to try and earn fake internet points to show how cool he is on the morning schoolbus. I just want to be able to play the game and have *fun*. I know, totally alien concept. There are so many weapons in this game myself and many others would love to use more, but you honestly can't and expect to play at the higher levels required for the 'end-game' ship upgrades. I mean Arrowhead even hide from the players many of the weapon statistics that most would consider crucial in favor of "light armor pen" and some meaningless no frame of reference numbers. The list of guns that went from useable to 'why is this even a choice now' just in the few months since release is staggering. From a gun that wouldn't even destroy bug eggs, to a crossbow explosion that was "slightly" reduced to the point it might as well not even explode, to a rifle that in its non-nerfed state still required skillful shot placement and wasn't a braindead "point and click" yet was removed of its only gimmick, left with half its magazine and almost no ammo, and a reload long enough you can make a pot of coffee, to a railgun that was nerfed, then basically buffed very nearly back to its original state, and the list goes on. Add in publisher stupidity, networking bugs causing just trying to get a group together becoming a chore, and top it off with utterly destroying solo/duo play. As a cherry on top add in just plain old burnout of fighting the same enemies on the same maps doing the same missions and every time some fun gets discoverd, it quickly gets removed. I'd love to be able to just willy-nilly decide I want to try some single mouse-click head removal play and use a DMR, or maybe tonight I feel like using that AR that is so satisfying to use, or maybe try that weird gimmicky new Warbond weapon and know that no matter what I chose, it's going to at bare minimum be viable to play on anything aside from the tutorial. The reality is you can't.

@Stylosa, I don't think new mechs are coming anytime soon mainly because of how they're implemented currently. Let me explain it like this, how many turrets can you bring to a mission and how many can you deploy at once? With that answer in mind, imagine having 3-4 exo-suit stratagems on deck and you basically run through all 8 of them through out the mission. You run one either dry or until it nearly blows up (or does) and then you call in another, rinse and repeat. With enough smarts (not really skill just more self restraint and know how of when to progress and when to hold back) someone could realistically just be playing MechWarrior: HellDivers 2 edition. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but then the exo-suits would need rebalancing to make them not so OP so that such a tactic (having 4 exo-suits deployed on the mission ALL the time for the entire mission) isn't broken, which either results in the exo-suits not being worth the stratagem slot for how fast they die OR enemies end up getting buffed to the point you will need an exo-suit to take on a scavenger and not burn through all of your ammo. Don't get me wrong on that either. It would be so much fun and chaos to have like the flame suit, AC suit, and then like an artillery big-ol' cannon suit, but that's a lot of changing the game from Helldivers to Titanfall. Some kind of new "vehicle/exo-suit" designated stratagem slot will need to be created to limit how many we can take. Otherwise, we're going to just have a "Mech Meta" that will get nerfed to the ground. I can't take credit for this POV as I read an article pointing this out and I think it's pretty valid. I mean you can run an all eagle build, an all turret build, and an all orbital build. There'd be nothing stopping you from doing an all mech build if they added more without any kind of restraints.

I love how honest and transparent twinbeard has been because sometimes people get so focussed on what they want that they dont stop to think about everything going on many times updates are already in the pipeline weeks before they drop some fixes even months look at the spear theyve already said is fixed on their end but theyre still working on releasing that fix in a future update that right there tells u thats many things have been in the works a lot longer than we realize and they will need a little time to fix the balance issue and update every week is very impressive as far as work load goes and i personally cant wait to see what this game does later down the line with a bigger staff bigger budget and a community that speaks their mind and is listened to. This game in 6 months is going to be crazy i guarantee it.

Well they have given out some pretty big buffs before. Example: Flamethrower: 50% more dps to the spray; plus a number of buffs to fire DoT. Incendiary breaker: 33% more damage; plus a number of buffs to fire DoT. Arc Blitzer: 50% faster rate of fire Jar Dominator: a lot more stagger plus 50% more damage (since been reduced to just 37.5% more damage)

My take for weapon balance is to have each weapon have a purpose. Burst Damage (High Damage, RPM, and recoil. Average reload and Mags size/count) Sustained Damage (High mag size. Average damage, RPM, recoil, reload, mag count) Consistent Damage (Fast reload and high mag count. Average damage, RPM, recoil, mag size) Things like that... 😢

I always figured for balance to really be useful it's gotta be a rock paper scissors kind of thing. An HMG should take out hulks, but get swamped by little dudes easily. For the most part that seems to work as is. TIP: Aim for the legs, not the eye. Makes life a lot easier.

When they nerf a weapon they might as well just remove it from the game altogether. Currently they remove FUN and we have to stop playing entirely before they bring it back. Oh amd they made the game more difficult + made the game more difficult if someone leaves i.e. kicked because the game has issues. So essentially, they are punishing players with harder difficulty, not fixing players involuntarily leaving due to game issues which also makes it more difficult because its programmed that way, then they take away decent weapons and spend all this time pushing new weapons & armor that tliterally NO ONE wants to use...

That is the typical way Helldiver devs operate, they nerf things out of usability then make insignificant "buffs" to make it seem as though things are even with buffs and nerfs, when in reality the game just gets NERF NERF NERFED EVERY SINGLE PATCH.

On the test server: one thing I’ve seen on other platforms is opening a beta for a limited amount of time when there’s a big update ready to go so that the crew isn’t totally overrun by having to maintain two servers at once. Idk if this is something for AH to look into since they seem to like the trickle method of adding content to the game but still putting it out there

What are you people talking about? Mech is fantastic. It's an "Oh shit, I'm in danger" button for any bug mission out there, which allows you to counter whatever you facing on your own. Minigun shreds anything smaller then a charger, and you have enough rockets to take down ~5 chargers or 2-3 titans. What other single stratagem can do that? Moreover you're nearly completly immune when you're inside of it. the only thing that can stop you are chargers, which can be stunned with rockets or a huge amount of bile, which you generally can sidestep. Rockets ARE aligned correctly, you just need to use "Switch camera side" button for them to become a priority gun. Now, there's a problem that you can't use that without aiming first, and in terms of a Mech that means you need to constantly fire minigun. THIS needs to be fixed, I agree. Or, you know, just compensate a your rockets by aiming a little bit to the right.

I think the problem is, it's useless against bots. Which is true of every flame strat as well. Soooo the only things not good vs bugs is smoke and ballistic shield, but there are more than a few strats which are pointless vs bots. IIRC it's like 7 strats are totally pointless vs bots, but only about 2 vs bugs. Ultimately this will probably change if we get a different mech specialized for fighting bots, which would be nice. Think that's an autocannon mech that's in the works?

@@8-7-styx94 there aren't a lot of strategems or weapons that are universally good,and most top tier ones are only that in their specific niche. Nobody complains that dominator or counter sniper do not have enough bullets or firerate to deal with hoards of bugs, neither anybody complains that incendiary S&P lack damage for bots. Hell, 500 kg is next to useless on bots, and mandatory on bugs. So miss me with that "useless VS bots" argument.

I think AH could take a page from Destiny on making weapons and giving them their own feel, sound, and look. There's 10 auto rifles and 10 smgs, but everyone has their favorite, and they all feel good to shoot.

If the devs are irritated that people use only the best support weapons. They should make the support stratagem choose 3 different weapons and you can call one of the 3 in. That way different weapons could be used for different circumstances.

You don't need to add a test server, if you want to add new guns to the game, sprinkle them in as lootables throughout the mission, do it for like six plus. Randomly give players additional stratagems see what they do with them. Whenever this occurs, record the match.

The reason why Helldivers 2 is doing so well is because: 1) The game is fun to play 2) It only costs $40 where its pretty normal now to see games go for $70 3) It treats the players fairly in terms of monetization - no FOMO, can earn currency in game, etc 4) The game is fun to play! It being released on PC and PS5 at the same time helps, but I would not say that is what is making the game successful.

Imagine if we got a custom character selection… I really think they are missing out on this because it would add that extra layer of “I” am doing my part for democracy rather than feeling like one of the heard. And with this I would love to see more freedom in wardrobe, this whole clinging to generic stuff for the sake of some kind of realism just isn’t working like they think it is

The fact that the devs continue to back and forth nerf buff nerf buff is the primary reason I am no longer playing. Arrowhead you incompetent fools it’s PVE. Leave it alone you are killing your game.

It's not our fault that developers complain about being under too much pressure trying to fix the disastrous updates they've made. From day one, we asked them to stop releasing updates and focus on fixing the errors. We care more about the quality of the game than the quantity. They've done the opposite because of the opinion of a minority, and now it's blowing up in their face.

12M x $40 = Arrowhead has made at least half a billion dollars on HD2. Hopefully a lot of that is reinvested into the game and it only gets better.

The constant swarming of patrols, weapons degradation and OP bots is killing the fun of this game. Sony is going to screw the gamers over profit and will screw this game in drama. Quit the lip service a bring back the FUN!!!!!!

Add a Mech with a personal shield generator like the Stratagem for Divers. Has a certain health pool and will recharge out of combat. Will work nicely for Bot missions.

Weapon nerfs for games like helldivers should come from the enemies growing resistances to the guns. It makes no sense lore wise for guns to get weaker with no change to the ebemies. They could’ve added in lore, extra armor for bugs that allow them to resist shrapnel or explosions more. Or chargers now take two quasar shots instead of one to the face. Instead they just changed things like cool down or damage on guns like any PVP game would. This game has more and they try to make updates lore based but the nerfs somehow get excuses to not follow the same form

First off they need to improve all weapons being worked on not make them worse. Secondly, I’m worried about another patch when we all know and have seen it will just break the game further.

Im 100% okay if they need time to catch up. they have already released a good game and for only 40 bucks it is well worth it. its such a relief to have a team that actually interacts with the community and any one throwing hate towards them is dumb as hell tbh lol. in my book arrow head did their job anything else is just icing on top.

I loved the mech against bugs, but it feels like they changed the way the rockets work. You have to aim next to what ever u want to hit, so it just feels bad to use them now :/

Stylosa my guy. They are already maintaining two versions of the game. That's what the current patch, and the coming patch ARE. Having a test realm can only decrease the work they have UNLESS THEY ARE NOT DOING IT.

Sounds like they needed to cook the game a few more months. Shocked pikachu face. I wish they had honestly. Considering how the game blew up had the waited a bit longer and it was more polished... One wonders how much they are squashing bugs as opposed to creating content and making fun stuff.

Let's see how they dig up the balance. It seems to me there are only two options. The first is that the developers will listen to the community and greatly enhance all weapons, which will lead to a total simplification of the game (fun). The second option is that they will simply change the meta.

burnout is real ... branches in flight while stuff in master queued up for delivery ... rinse repeat ... a PTR could help to tighten that loop but it's just another env to maintain never mind the infra / onboarding yadda yadda
