I was in NYC yesterday and they have freight elevators everywhere. When I walked past one, I saw it closing. It was HUGE.

On the first elevator, which is a large passenger elevator, the floor indicator is mounted above the car doors, even if it's 9-feet tall. Would that be considered ADA compliant, even though it's high?

2:53 does the strap on the inside of the freight elevator door means that you can use it by hand

Lucas2021 The strap is mainly there for back-up in case either the door motor malfunctions and/or if the doors needed to be manually operated in the event of the elevator getting stuck.
