Hugh is a friend of mine going back 43 years and if people in the "comments section" think that they could do better when they are in their 70's, then fucking go right ahead...The guy's a LEGEND..
Someone standing close in on the stage filming on a mobile is never going to get a decent sound balance, even more so in a smaller venue, it's great to see him still going.
you're right. i wish i was like him at 73... great voice and great rhythm guitarist. class act. and in my humble opinion he outclasses the present 'stranglers'. if you're a friend of his bring my regards thanks Federico
I absolutely ❤ Hugh I am very fortunate to get a ticket to see him for the very first time whilst he's on tour in Australia in August 2024. Very few artists come to Western Australia, they mostly go to Melbourne and Sydney so I am beside myself with joy. ❤❤❤❤❤
Brings a tear to my cynical old Scottish eye … he was magnificent in the Stranglers and magnificent on his own here too … keep on keeping on Hugh 👍🏴
Always loved hugh.great front man.so glad i saw the stranglers live with hugh.My favorite band ever.got all there vinyl.keep playing hugh.fucking legend.
@SynthMusicFan 501 Performing more and more "JJ songs" seems the latest in a series of moves to lay claim to the Stranglers' musical legacy. Notice how he uses The Stranglers' font for his own name too.
Sounds like he's murdering classic Stranglers songs in his dotage, give up ffs. "If you wanna hear Stranglers songs, go & see The Stranglers". Never a truer word said; this is woeful
Hugh is the Roger Waters of Punk. He walked away, which was his right, but he thinks the rest of the band should have done the same. This is supposed to be a lame joke but The Stranglers won' t die
Sorry, The Stranglers are better without him. Yes he was good at one time but this is just awful. Now go and listen to the up to date Stranglers and then comment.
It was sometime after Hugh Cornwell left The Stranglers and started to do solo concerts, fans of The Stranglers yelled out for him to sing their songs, that Hugh became pissed at them and yelled back "If you want to hear Strangler songs then go see them!" Now days he is singing Stranglers songs with a not so good bassist like J.J. Burnel and a not so good drummer like Jet Black. Not even having a keyboard and synth musician like Dave Greenfield.
@@hank21s I really like Hugh Cornwell's first solo album, 1979 'Nosferatu'. That is an excellent album. He should have stayed in that kind of genre in his creative genius way of writing and composing music, also adding some music progressiveness.
