To be fair to Hugh, Wolverine: Origins bears that out. He really was raised by wolves off and on during his teenage years. He was dealing badly with a lot of things at the time.

Makes me think of a lost potential for a scene in one of the x-men movies or cartoons of wolverine screaming bloody murder from the other room freaking out a new recruit who thinks they are under attack, just to be reassured by someone near by "Don't worry man it's fine, Wolverine just nicked his balls again."

People were angry with Hugh Jackman's casting initially because wolverines are supposed to be small and angry. That's the whole shtick with the character. Hugh isn't small.

Remember watching Real Steel with the director talking about the movie over the audio (forgive me, I completely forget what you actually call it) and he mentioned that in the scene where Atom was looking at himself in the mirror Atom was meant to move, proving that Atom is sentient but he didn't go through with it. Or atleast that's what I remember

Honestly the bit about him not having his wishes to have the set closed just set a dangerous precedent that continually gets reinforced in today's society, one that means that men don't deserve to have their wishes respected in regard to their bodies. If you reversed the genders and did that shit to an actress you'd lose your job the second the story came out. Men deserve to have the same respect in regard to their bodies as women, period. I don't care if it's a prank, he asked for the set to be limited to only the necessary crew, and they went against that in a way that if it were to an actress would end very differently. Sexism against men is wrong, as is sexism against women. It's not reverse sexism either, it's sexism, plain and simple. Men don't deserve to be objectified as equally as women don't. Why are these such hard concepts? Holy shit.

I always thought it made a lot of sense that Wolverine/Jackman wasn’t ripped in the first X-men movie as at that time period he was pretty much washed up and just fighting in bar fights, drinking, living a pretty lowkey life. So I always saw it as a convenient accident that his body was more on the regular side.

Hugh Jackman plays a reluctant father figure to the kid who is a likable character. The shadow function of the older robot has less lag than the joystick control does, but lacks the preprogrammed one button push advantage.

Fun fact about the first xmen movie, they shot the canada scenes after most of the movie (for whatever reason i dont remember) and you can see a noticable diffrence in hughs muscle mass and general physique

I actually really enjoyed Real Steel. It was an underrated film. The story was essentially Rocky-Sock'em Robots, but it was entertaining seeing the fights and the interactions between Hugh and his "son" were pretty well done. Definitely a recommend from me, a random RU-vid commentator and possible full-/part-time RU-vidr who just wants to talk about movies.

The robot's shadow function could be used to store sequences of movements to be used in fights. So it was learning the moves, it just wasn't sentient.
