I have a theory: I think the "hatred" Anne got was part of an experiment in swaying public opinion as the power of social media ramped up. I remember reading crap everywhere. For example: there was a report that Anne was throwing her own birthday party for herself and close family/friends. It was posted in an article in an online newspaper. One of the posted comments was "Oh sweetie ... you're throwing a party for yourself because you have no friends ..." When I read that, I was "wait ... did she do something wrong? Did I miss something?" I scoured the internet and I discovered something. There was an increase in hate comments against her, but no specific events, just vague things like "she's awful to the crew; everyone hates her", "she's difficult", "she's a phony" ... etc. And yet when you search the internet etc. all you hear is how she goes out of her way to get to know the crew, what a delightful person she is, and what a talented actress she is. The best I could figure out that it was born from jealousy, and someone decided to put it out in the ether to see how far it would spread, and it indeed spread quite far and for a while. This was one of the sure indications that "cancel culture" worked. Take someone that everyone loves, keep talking crap about her, and she'll be "done." The opposite of this is the "stan" culture that mindlessly and endlessly props someone up for no real reason other than celebrity fanaticism elevated to the Nth degree (usually because of how they look.) And, it too has worked. Thank goodness Anne survived that. I think this is what happens when people play with power with zero fear of consequence. Destroying people apparently is fun ... and addictive. The weaponization of social media ... useful for so many different things ....

it's probably a girl thing, certain women trigger women. Megan markle, gweneth patrol, even sonic the hedgehog has sally acorn. It's the same thing where we hate guys that are fawned over by women that we don't deem worthy. Like where we hate justin bieber because we don't respect him, compared to there was never hate for Johnny Depp, because of his immense talent. Or how Leo was disliked when he was younger but once he proved a dedication to his craft all the male hate was forgotten. For girl's it's like they hate unfair competition. if it feels like they are somehow cheating and not following the rules that everyone else has to and they pretend they don't know they are breaking them, that triggers them hard. Most of the time legitimate, like the girl who flirts with other girls boyfriends, and pretends she doesn't know what she was doing, but it's emotional not logical so certain women, get it to even if they are innocent. Women who seem to play the same game of feigned innocence that women use on women. When women play that game on other women it's kind of like a big fuck you it's like they epitomize the sentence "I don't know why every guy I meet is so obsessed me, it's really just so annoying".

Sometimes when the media doesn't have a story, they create one. I've never really been convinced that people "hated" her. I think the media focused in on a few vocal haters on social media and decided to spin a narrative around it that everyone hated her to get clicks, especially since it offered a contrast with Jennifer Lawrence who was getting insanely popular so quickly.

Cuz people don’t know the truth. Some believe that she was part of her ex-boyfriend’s scams and left him when he went to jail and lost his money but that’s not true. Anne’s father was suspious of her Italian ex boyfriend and hired a private investigator on him and that was when Anne found out that he was a conman. He knew he was going to get caught so he tried leaving to Italy but Anne cooperated with the Feds and convinced Follieri, her ex, to come back to the U.S. Long story short, she ended up breaking up with him and then he went to jail. Some people also hate the fact that she helped locked him up but imo without her, he probably would’ve been a free man and still conning billionaires. He’s free now on 2020 and says he’s changed but idk, I still believe he’s still conning people.

I didn’t know people hated her. How can you hate a person you don’t know? I like her very much as an actress, she seems nice and genuine. My mother had a saying, “I’d like to buy people for what they are worth and sell them for what they think they are worth.” I think of that when I see people being hateful, high on their horse, judgmental, etc...

Anne - a lot of "actors" who constantly snipe at other actors are those who are themselves insecure, marginal talents, who KNOW they are less-talented, or not as physically attractive, or just plain not as nice, as their targets. So they take aim at people such as yourself, knowing that you're vulnerable to that kind of attack. You're a sweetheart, inside and out. Armor up, and know that you have people who DO give a damn about you.

I truly understand Anne Hathaway, self love and not giving a crap of what haters and scrutiny people can slander on us and we believed every words they say we are. It is insidious, and heartbreaking. It takes bravery and all ounce of self confidence strength to make it to another day. Learning to love ourselves and even reparenting our own wounded self makes how Hugh mentioned a life skill that keeps for lifetime. So fight on, no matter what amount of suffering we battled from within and rise above the slandering behaviors of the haters or those that bring us down. Prayer for all those struggling within, self-care and be easy on yourself can be a starting point, and by all means having a therapist to work thru it too can be another step in healing too. If one therapist didn't click with you, keep searching for one that does and even if health insurance is an issue of limited search, don't give up and go for another day, take another grounding step of deep breathing works at the moment.

When a person comments something negative or positive about another, it is their feeling and thoughts at that moment of time. Dont take it personal at all. If it is the truth, accept it and change if it requires you to change, if not just consider it nonsense and go on with your life. What people think of you is not important but what God thinks of you is important.

For someone to go through plastic surgery is a painful process, they would have thought about it for thousand times, and it's something thats gonna make them happy. So calling someone plastic barbie is very rude to people who have actually had plastic surgery

They probably pick on her insecurities. They don't hate her. They just think they can get away with abusing her. Take Julia Roberts, few people would be hating her openly because she looks like she could devour them in one bite. There's a reason why Hathaway was targeted by a conman, they always pick the ones they can manipulate.

Typically they have not mentioned what it is that makes Hugh Jackman a generous and humble person. He is a devout Christian. A brave thing to admit to being in Hollywood.

At first, I seriously thought this video was a "spoof" the way it was being played out, then, when I realized they were being serious & started talking about her & Hugh Jackman, I thought, wait...are Anne & Hugh a couple?! I would've went for that, Hugh Jackman is a very handsome man & Anne so beautiful. I am SO HAPPY that Anne has found happiness, even if it's not with Hugh. It's a lesson in, find yourself & don't ever let others define who you are. There will always be hate in this world, rise above it, don't give it or take it from others, show others & yourself how much class it takes to be a good genuine kind person, even when others are not giving that back to you. YOU define YOU. Everyone else, honestly, they really don't matter in the big picture. Reflect & redefine, the better you are is the better you can become. :)
