Bruhh, love Hugh because I know he's a really great guy, but he should've given Jeremy Jordan a bit more credit for singing the demo... especially since both are from the musical theater world
So who is here because someone shared this link on the Jeremy Jordan’s explanation of his involvement in the greatest showman? Hugh uses the ‘guy on the demo’ but I’m sure he was just telling the story as it was.. he’s a theatre guy, so I’m sure he knows who Jeremy Jordan is ......and if he doesn’t then he’s not a true theatre kid /being disrespectful to a fellow who helped him out in a huge way...
Well I mean he didn’t know who ZENDAYA a was so it’s possible that he didn’t know who Jeremy is. Honestly I’m a huge theatre kid and I know Jeremys name but I can’t picture his face in my mind- I just don’t know him because I’m not interested in his projects so I don’t know, it really depends on who you like and what you like
He met Jeremy Jordan, so he had to of known is name. There is a video where Hugh Jackman had nose surgery right before a get together to sing the song 'From Now On', and JJ was standing in for him. In the end they hugged, so I would be surprised if he didn't know his name.
He didn't JUST do the demo. He literally SANG FOR HIM during the PITCH of the movie!! If he hadn't shown up, SICK AS WELL, this movie wouldn't have gone through.
Really? Cause in all of NYC they couldn't have found a guy to sing the songs? And the writers and composers, Keala, and the Hugh had nothing to do with it?
@@DrPeppering Hugh was sick that day. His doctor told him he needed to be on vocal rest during the pitch timeframe. So they called Jeremy Jordan in to not only sing for Zac Efron's future role, but ALSO for Hugh Jackman. It's there in the official press release. Hugh Jackman says that he didn't sing at all until "From Now On." Jeremy Jordan started singing it, then Hugh took over.
@@DrPeppering Jeremy Jordan had previously recorded the demo tracks and happened to be going because he was originally going to sing for the role of Phillip. When Hugh needed to be on vocal rest it was very short notice to the point where Jeremy was already on the plane ride to New York the day before so there wouldn’t be time to find any guy in New York. This was to even get the movie into production so I doubt they would take the risk to grab anyone. Not to mention, Jeremy’s voice is incredible and is just on another level than most people
@@DrPeppering the issue with that was the fact that the composer also lost his voice so the only one who knew the music and could sing it and was readily available was Jeremy Jordan. Yes they would have probably found someone to sing the songs at the presentation but when you’re trying to get a movie musical green lit, you want to put your best foot forward
JEREMY JORDAN WAS USED! They took all his adlibs and creativity used it for the demo. Had him pay for his own flight out because they “couldn’t afford it” to sing while Hugh Jackman acted and live lipsynced Jeremy’s amazing voice. Jeremy got cut off half way during singing all while everyone but Jeremy seemed to know Hugh had already met with Zach for the role. Dude that is beyond messed up. He is the vocal visionary of all those gorgeous tones/vibrato/belting and he’s been resorted to “the demo singer” like he’s some no name guy and isn’t a Broadway legend. I would hate to work in that industry. I wouldn’t be able to be as strong Jeremy. No hate to any of the cast, the movie is one of my favorites but it’s unfortunate that he wasn’t credited in the slightest. It’s so hard to conjure up the foundation of musicality when it comes to performing songs from the ground up.
“the demo singer” you mean Jeremy Jordan- the lead male in The Last Five Years movie and the original Broadway cast and live recording of Newsies? The guy who saved the freaking movie and he’s just the demo guy
I'm sure he does, he just wanted to let people know that it was the demo. Does that make sense? Like, he wanted us to know that it was a demo rather then some other random dude who had tried out.
@@miralevasseur7420 Yeah, I don't know why he didn't, but a lot of people don't know who Jeremy Jordan is. Really sad, I know. He must know who JJ is, he met him for goodness sake! Probably on way more than one occasion, but maybe he thought that the demo shouldn't be named? I don't know, but I do know that he must have know JJ's name.
@@lydiaharman485 yeah, I get that. I just think he should have at least given him the shred of credit for the movie, and hey, people might look him up after!
I love how everyone's like oh my gosh you know the demo singer is Jeremy Jordan his daughter has good taste I mean hue Jackman is also in the musical theater world
If he was my dad, and I asked him who he was working with, and he said Blab bla bla, Zendaya, Zac Efron, I would’ve asked.. TAKE ME WITH YOU TO THE SET, OH AND ALL OF MY FRIENDS
bwahaha I'm just here for the Jeremy Jordan comments. Raise your hand if you thought the vocals were unbelievably strong from the guys section in the "making of greatest showman" this is me song and was NOT surprised to see Jeremy right in center leading the section!!!
The word "Daya" in itself, is often pronounced as "DYAH". Dia is pronounced as "Deea". Zendaya's name is pronounced as what is actually looks like which is "day - a". So it's not surprising people pronounce it the way he does. English is a tricky son of a bitch.
It’s peoples accents, like kiwis (me), our vowel sounds are different so the way we say A like (eyyy), it goes a (arrrr). I think that’s why people say it differently
To everyone complaining that Hugh Jackman didn’t say Jeremy Jordan was the demo singer: 1) he was explaining how he explained to his daughter that Jordan wasn’t going to sing the songs/that it was just a Demo 2) he was relaying what his daughters POV was In both of these instances it’s unnecessary to say Jeremy Jordan’s name because his daughter probably didn’t even know/remember his name as it was just a conversation said between father and daughter
I came here after read everybody's complaints about Hugh not remembering Jeremy Jordan's name. All I could see is the man just quoted his daughter. People were so angry with JJ's drama that they jumped wrong conclusion.
Honestly other than outright saying it I think this is his him giving credit and acknowledging Jeremy Jordan. He definitely could have skipped that part. “Demo singer” was his daughters words. It would have been nice for him to say Jeremy Jordan but Hugh isn’t taking all the credit here.
Lmao I am so here for all of the raging theater kids in the comments defending our king, the one the only Jeremy Jordan. ( I’m also one of these raging theater kids if you couldn’t tell)
It kinda annoys me Hugh doesn’t even mention Jeremy Jordan, when he was the one who saved the movie and did everything he could to make it work. Glad his daughter prefers Hugh. IN YOH FACE!!!
For all of you wanting Jeremy Jordan singing the songs, here is a video! Go watch it, it's amazing!! Even if you don't know who he is, I suggest that you watch it. He is an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. singer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-08AGzOmCk-s.html
