SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE CELEB INTERVIEWS! Emmy-Winner Jake Hamilton talks with Hugh Jackman about his new film REMINISCENCE and whether or not the Marvel multiverse could get him back to play Wolverine.
I just stumbled across this channel as a suggested page from RU-vid and I'm so glad I did. I'm a big movie fan (an eclectic fan i love all genres). Jake seems to make his guests feel comfortable and asks really interesting questions. So far I have been impressed as he seems genuine and doesn't seem to cross the line in saying things like 'I'm your biggest fan can we be best friends' etc. When interviewers are ass kissing and all over guests it makes me cringe. GOOD WORK keep it up and keep it real.
I randomly found this and LOVED seeing it. I laughed when he talked about playing wolverine w/ ur Neacies and Nephews!!! It was an amazing thought; especially since his kids don't care much about him in that role. THANK FOR THIS WHOLE THING!!!
Hugh Jackman said he almost cameod in the first Spider-Man film as Wolverine. I think it was supposed to be when Tobey was in line for the wrestling competition.
The workout regimen is very taxing and really takes a toll on him physically and mentally. He's obviously at a point where he feels the money is not worth it.
Perfect movie but he said: I'm done with Wolverine. I heard it so long ago, while 20th century Fox still existed. I'm glad Hugh said so!!! You know, seeing him with Marvel will destroy my momories about the character he played.
Either Disney can pay him whatever he asks for to return, or fans just need to get over it already that he's *not* coming back. Those are pretty much the only options here.
I think Logan was perfect ending for him. I personally am ready for new Wolverine actor. Someone who could be short like he is in comic books and even more hairy.
@@Latitz I mean it comes to the decision that would you rather have a really good actor that is tall? Or would you rather have a really bad actor that is short? Personally I didn't have a problem with Hugh Jackman. In my opinion I don't know why many people were hating on Hugh for being tall lmao.
Jake, you have an enviable rapport with your subjects - it's like they enjoy being interviewed by you as much as you enjoy interviewing them - easily as much as we enjoy watching!
At a certain point I start to feel bad for him on the grounds that he’s going to have people asking him to go back to being wolverine in every interview he does for the rest of his life. He’s a champ for always fielding it earnestly
@@Alex_Logan22 I don’t doubt that or he wouldn’t have played the character for so long. What I mean is, when trying to promote other work, I wonder if he tired of the interview always reverting back to Wolverine or having to constantly restate he’s not returning.
@@unboxreacts7435 you could say the same about Harrison Ford being Indiana Jones or Daniel Ratcliff being Harry Potter but they aren’t asked about their old roles in every interview.
@@JBrotsis1 i feel like with Daniel radcliffe its the same story, I have seen a couple of interviews where they mention Harry potter, besides that, when people see him in a new film the comment section is just full of harry potter references. Imo, he hasnt done any ground breaking movies since harry potter, I did like his akimbo movie, woman in black and the one where he had horns.
Amazing bub. There's a guy who deserves every single bit of success he achieved in the last 2 decades. I'll never forget that day in 2000 watching X-MEN with my dearly missed sis,the moment SENSEI Hugh gleamed onscreen as Wolvie.
If he's done with the role, then as a fan I respect that decision. However, with myself and I assume so many fans still hungry for good X-men stories, the best thing I hold out *some* hope for is maybe some type of cameo or nod. Ideally, I'd love to see a new actor who can take the role over for the future, with just a little scene between the two to complete the "passing the torch," feeling.
I think he should not come back. As much as I'd LOVE to see him and DP on screen together, but he wrapped up his character so well. We should leave him be lol
He’s gonna be in Deadpool 3 playing as his real life self, having meta bickery with Ryan Reynolds constantly begging him to be in his movie. The first Deadpool movie already acknowledged Hugh’s real life self so it wouldn’t really feel out of place lol. This would be a way for them to showcase their characters’ dynamics with each other without Hugh having to go all in as the character, and Ryan/Hugh continuing their ongoing gags they’ve already been doing in real life for years (this interview even fed into it).
Yeah I believe him. Hugh is the type of guy who sticks to his word. If he says he's done with the character, he's done. Only a respectful cameo maybe a possibility.
I think the MAIN thing keeping him from coming back is likely the hellish workout and diet regiment he'd have to go through to get into "Wolverine" shape... He himself has said that it's insane, he'd literally starve/dehydrate himself for hours before a shirtless scene so that he'd be EXTRA cut and his veins would be extra visible and when they'd yell CUT, he'd imminently drink a ton of electrolytes and some fruit to help balance his hydration and energy. So like you said, I think he'd come back for a cameo, maybe even a lengthy one, but nothing shirtless anymore, nothing that requires him to revert back to the insane workout and diet regime... and I totally understand that.
I'm thinking in a Deadpool movie Hugh could cameo playing a fan cosplaying as wolverine with an obvious muscle suit & butter knives duct taped to the back of his hands.
Hugh Jackman is Hugh Jackman. You don't need to know him to know he's being honest. He's always been this way for the past 20+ years of his career. And if he does take up the role again there will have to be a reason beyond himself to do the role. One that requires him and only him to do it. Which would says something about the current Hollywood if they can't find someone out of millions of actors.
Hugh Jackman is my favourite actor. He's the nicest person in the world and I absolutely adore him. I followed every movie he played Wolverine in and I have all the Blu-rays. I watched other films he did because of how much I like him as an actor. But I've never felt his Wolverine was the ideal Wolverine I knew from the comics. I know this is a hot and perennial debate, but I believe it's always been down to people who knew previously knew Wolvie from the comics and those who don't. Jackman was perfect in his version of Wolverine, just not as the one I'm still waiting to see brought to life on the big screen.
For one he's too tall and that's about it. But Richard Armitage could blatantly pull logan off he's already done an audio story as logan so who knows what the future will bring.
He could be throwing us off all he's really is done playing the character it could go either way some actors say this so they don't spoil the surprise but I'm pretty sure if Marvel paid him a crazy amount of money to be in one Marvel movie like a fantastic. 4 movie or a Avengers movie I don't think he would turn that down because I know I wouldn't
That would be great, but he is getting older, and that’s probably one of the reasons he does want to leave Wolverine’s character with Logan. I wish that he would come back, but then again, I cannot say that I blame him.
I love how in character Hugh is all the time when it comes to the Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool/Wolverine rivalry. And as brilliant as he is in the role of Wolverine...it's time for someone else to pick up the claws.
I know the pitch that would draw Hugh in, because it ties into his farewell performance with his character, Logan. What if he's taken from a scene in that movie, into the multiverse - and what happens in the multiverse, cements the ending of Logan even further. In Hugh's farewell performance, he was fighting a cloned version of himself. But what if he actually had to face himself (as old man Logan) in the multiverse, to become the guy who makes the sacrifice we know he makes. So instead of the Logan we saw, die without his contemporaries, because he'd lost all hope to live without them - we rediscover them inside Logan's ego in the multiverse, goading him to be more. He still returns to die as he must, only this time when he does, he's made peace with his friends and himself.
Jake I only just started watching your channel and legit every interview I’m sat there smiling the whole time, it’s never awkward you manage to be so engaged without coming off as fake the interviews feel genuine and fun big props man 🙌🏻
Before attending WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts), he did a year-long acting program called "The Journey" at the Actors Centre in Sydney.
The interesting about Jackman is him being believable as many different characters throughout the movie scenes, but yet, the only person believable as Wolverine. Most people get type cast or trapped in one role but, in this case, that one role is trapped in him..
Hugh Jackman is my idol as a character and it would make my heart explode to see him come back one more time for the character or just to make a cameo, I love that man and hope that maybe we'll get to see him with the claws again.
Hugh isn't wrong. I love his Wolverine as much as the next guy, but he's simply too old to play a character that doesn't age. Logan WAS the perfect ending to such an amazing run, it would almost cheapen the impact of that film if he came back into the character again. If nothing else, let him pass the torch onto another actor like they've done with other characters.
They have de-aging capabilities, so it’s completely possible. My feeling is, they’re really keeping this a secret, we all know they try their best to, or he really is done with it and ready to move on.
I think most of us would LOVE Hugh to come back as Wolverine. I wish they found a way to make him and the X-Men part of Endgame. But if he's done, he's done. We will all remember him to be the first and best live-action Wolverine. Like what Sean Connery is to James Bond or Arnold is to the Terminator. Clint Eastwood is to Harry Callahan and the Man With No Name. But I think Logan was the greatest "Goodbye" to a superhero movie legend imaginable. They couldn't even top as much as they tried with Tony's death.
I think Marvel does things so well on being quiet with roles and movies etc until time. I know if their is a story that can be told to allow Wolverine to be reprised they will have it so I am very hopeful but not fully convinced that Hugh Jackman will be wolverine again however if money is right and story is tight then a deal will be in sight. Fun interview!!
I cried like a baby watching Logan. Wolverine has always been my favorite character and no one could play him better than Hugh Jackman. He's hands down one of my all time favorite actors. They could easily bring wolverine back. I know people would pay good money to see that. Let him live forever lol.

Absolutely, me too. I'm crying like a little kid hes finish. He's awesome but i think they shouldnt be disturbed this character. 😕
I clicked on this video faster than greased lightning. While listening, I was gripping my hands, my body was tense, I was hoping for the answer to be what I (and probably most of us) wanted. As the interview went on, and upon hearing his answer, I loosened my grip, my head dropped, and I was overcome with mixed emotions. I was sad that he won’t be reprising the role. I had to accept the fact that, when the X-Men returns to Marvel, I won’t be seeing that feral, vicious, scruffy-haired, huge, jacked man (Hugh Jackman) that I have come to idolize in my childhood and up to now. I remember the saying “Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened”, and I guess I’ll have to live with that. Thank you, Hugh Jackman for giving us the one and only Wolverine!
I think he's very proud of how he concluded his character that if they were to bring him back his wolverine I don't know how he would close the chapter again as good as he did with logan. So I think that's what makes him not want to go back is that he really did end it on a good quality note
You should show him some pictures of Paul D'Amato and see what he thinks. Paul D'Amato is an actor who was in Slap Shot who John Byrne based his Wolverine's unmasked face on. As Paul D'Amato aged, he also uncannily resembled Old Man Logan from the comics.
Anything’s possible with the right execution, a balance could certainly be achieved if done right. They’re already bringing back Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock despite him having a great end too, it won’t take anything away from Spider-Man 2. With Hugh it’s easier, his character already exists within inconsistent films, meaning multiple worlds.
Honestly I’d be cool with Hugh returning as Wolverine. He might be older now but he’s still got it. Heck since Marvel is doing the Multiverse maybe they could give us a new Wolverine and bring Hugh back and bring back Dafne Keen.
Lol!!!! Hugh pulled up Deadpool. That’s hilarious!!!!!!!!! And him telling Ryan that he isn’t coming back... that just proves that Ryan Reynolds is indeed Deadpool in real life. 😂 In all seriousness though, I think that Hugh is wanting to leave Wolverine/Logan character where he ended. I think it would be great if he came back as Wolverine in the MCU, but if he doesn’t, I cannot say that I blame him. I think where he left Logan was a great ending... although his “adamentium poisoning” and “healing factor failure” was sorta a strange way to end the character. But, then again, they had to close out his life somehow. All in all, every bit of his acting was good and he left it all on that set of Logan.
I disagree. It will be extremely refreshing to have a rebooted Wolverine, with the same actor. It is like having a kit kat. Logan is that kit kat. It is nice. Snaps great. Delicious. Then you get Hugh Jackman, with his experience, and you reboot Wolverine. This is a different Wolverine now. Different backstory, different script and totally different feel of movie. The movies are very comic info heavy unlike the Fox movies. On top of that, you get different directors telling you how to act, like Feige. Suddenly that Kitkat has transformed into a Ferrero Rochse. There is nothing wrong with Kitkat. Kitkat is nice. But now we have a totally different but chocolate sweet. And it has many ingredients. Both brands are strong, but the Ferrero Rochse is somehow superior. That is why Hugh Jackman should come back. Yes, he is a tiny bit burnt out. But now we have many people giving him advice of how to be an MCU form of Wolverine. Hugh knows how to act, and so long as he does not change the script too much, the MCU Wolverine would have a guarantee of being successful. Because Hugh has both acting and the fame. With fame like that, you can be pathetic, and people will still give you an Oscar. We get biased heavily towards famous people.
