Should be pointed out that Almunia was the starting keepe for watford and was injured in the warm up. Bond was then injured and Jack Bonham was just on the bench for the experience, was 18, and had NEVER played a game for the senior team before this game. You really can't blame him for the loss in any way. On the bright side... we went on to see the best, the absolute best, play-off game win ever against leiscester and it was worth losing this game just for that last two minues alone.
It shouldn't have gone to the final day but Hull completely collapsed after beating Ipswich they were 6 points clear of Watford with 4 to play but defeats to Wolves and Barnsley plus dropping points against the bottom club Bristol City meant it did go to the final day and they eventually stumbled over the line
As a neutral I thought three things: 1) I feel very sorry for Jack Bonham 2) Troy Deeney is a bellend (but a good player) 3) Ahmed Elmohamady is just a bellend
Hull got lucky. this is what pisses me off most about Hull. Stupidity. Invading the pitch like no other fan base has ever done. Invading the pitch for winnning a penalty that only may score a goal that only may win promotion. How daft can you get? Dumb. This just added unknown confusion and disrupted any momentum they had. They must hav been so pissed to see the fans do this. Pissed because its the very very last thing they wanted the fans to do. And this is coming from a Hull fan. We were very, very lucky, and the neutral must always wish in that situation at that moment, that we miss the penalty and concede a goal to send it out of our hands. We were saved by Jack Bonham's incompetency! It's hard for humility (being humble) not to be king in nearly every situation, and hull city fans show no humility. C***s
