Rosenior came in with Hull in the relegation zone, took them to 15th last season, now 7th and a win away from the playoffs. Thats in less than two seasons. Absolutely ridiculous to sack him.
The problem is that in the style of football played by Liam, Acun Ilıcalı wants a football that attacks more, presses and traps the opponent in the future. He wants to build a team that will constantly attack. Hull City's valueWhile it was 105 million Euros, it fell behind Norwich City with 63 million Euros and lost the offseason. And against Playmouth, a team that is at the bottom of the league, more aggressive, more attacking, more goal-seeking. The side should have been Hull City, but this cannot happen with the style of football played by Liam. Unfortunately, Hull also has problems keeping the ball forward and constantly concedes goals easily, and they are not good enough in terms of defence No success achieved
Hull running before it can walk - Rosenior's 7th place finish is the first top ten finish for Hull in the Championship since 2016 and the reward is the sack, absolutely barmy decision
What the hell, Im a Birmingham fan, I feel for the Hull fans at this moment in time, I think Liam played some good football with the players he had, you cant get blood out of a stone, its a bit like Rooney in a way with the owners wanting to play a certain style that cant be achieved without premier league players its bonkers, if Liam wanted to come down to St Andrews I would love to have him.
Hull were _dismal_ last season. Yes, they avoided the drop, but they were playing terrible football. I've watched them time and again this season, and the difference is staggering. Actual, decent to watch football, and managing to get points from tough opponents. This is the toughest Championship for a while, you've had four clubs fighting for the top two spots, and Norwich and West Brom are no cakewalks either. The improvement that Rosenior has brough has been immense, and I genuinely do not understand what possible reason they could have had to get rid.
I'm a Fenerbahce fan supporting Hull City and here to give you some insights about this Acun's decision. Acun is now a board member in Fenerbahce, will play an important role at the club, as well. Acun has always been a direct supporter in Fenerbahce club, both in terms of material and moral. If you inspect Fenerbahce's progress in the last 10 years, you will better understand this pattern. Under Ali Koc's Fenerbahce presidency, Fenerbahce signed big names, had 0 national titles (mostly finishing the league in top 3), changed managers each of every year with decent European success. But Turkey has a different football atmosphere, that's hard to compare these two teams. However, Fenerbahce showed some signs of attactrive football during those years, with great youngsters and established middle age players like Arda Guler, Ferdi Kadioglu, Jayden Oosterwolde, Kim Min Jae, Eljif Elmas, Vedat Muriqi. Check out those guys' career and how much money they have made the club earned. Historically, Fenerbahce's style of play is based on school of Brazil - Jogo Bonito. Acun is just aiming this, while signing promising youngsters. Here I'm not backing or criticizing Acun's decision. He took that risk of being against of Hull supporters. He's that type of guy. We'll see the outcome next year. It's a risky decision but I can clearly understand what he aims for.
Well not quite, Hull's owner hasn't sent them down to league 1 while claiming they are going to dominate English football in a few years with a super duper mega stadium filled with 60 thousand fans lol
Hi Birmingham fan here, if Mowbray decides not to come back ( and I wish him all the best and hope is well soon), I would be all over Rosenior. I’d have him at St Andrews in a heartbeat 👍
No idea what hes like as a manager but at a glance he did take their position up the league, given with a great squad. Anytime you see him speak he is quite insightful too so seemingly does have the makings of a very good coach. Would suspect he’ll be successful elsewhere, seems a bit harsh but suppose if promotion was the ambition or a certain style was wanted thats the owners prerogative
Jermaine Defore. Give him a chance. I bet he could turn it into an attacking style. Liam should of been given another yr but I like this chairman. He makes a decision and gets on with it.
Hes a better owner BUT this is a kop out answer to a terrible decision. Championship can be a scrappy league to get points you aren't always going to get that seat jumping attacking style, it also requires more money to attract these players in (in the championship its hard to do). With what hes said if we did make play-offs is he still getting sacked if he doesn't like his style of play?
Word on the street is that he's thinking of replacing our coach, even though he hasn't even bought the club yet, and the coach he wants to replace hasn't lost a single game since he selected the team. The fans sent him a big "no" even before he came to Maribor.👀👀👀👀👀👀
I've seen a bit of Hull this year They were very good in attack but their weakness was in their defence was league one .I remember when they played Leicester They were better then Leicester but they kept leaving Vardy unmarked in the area No surprise Vardy scored two goals It was the same at Leeds Hull played well and put us under pressure but gave us too much space to exploit It's still a crazy decision.I don't know why people play out from the back Very few teams have the players to do it and generally causes team more problems Play top your players strengths
what the hell kind of answer is that, his football style wasnt what he wanted... i mean attacking and offensive football vs ITFC was some of the best i have seen this season. Totally crazy
Interesting decision, but perhaps better to part ways while both manager and club are in relatively positive positions. If you and your partner have different sets of values, then it's probably better to end things early than to get married and inevitably run into more serious problems further down the line. That being said, the owner might be targeting the unachievable, but it's his club and his decision if he wants to pursue that goal - just hope the fans don't end up suffering from the owner becoming reckless in his pursuit of that aim!
Granted that English isn’t the main language, but most of that was nonsensical contradictory waffle. Another example of an owner who is very successful and wealthy from other businesses, but mostly clueless about this sport.
I'm from Turkey. i trust Acun ilicali. he doesn't like to lose and is always hungry for success. Next year he will show his competitive spirit with a better squad and understanding of the game. everyone will see that he will not give up.
@@lukehutchings746 sorry bro my English is bad. i mean, he really wants to get promoted to the English league. probably hull city will buy a lot of quality players in the transfer season. the coach was not at pl level. it will bring someone better
I have to say that this guy shouldn't own a football club. I can't understand why he did this. I wonder what the next manager will be like. He talks great about Liam but then says Liam wasn't good enough. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
So gutted. This owner is an idiot. Liam has more than proven himself to all us Hull fans and we are so pleased with the progress. And after this interview I have little understanding what Acun actually feels and wants overall. I can appreciate our possession play isn't exciting but it got us nearly damn there. And the players trusted Liam.
Owners a prick end of. Liam is a legend, what he did for Derby we don't forget. Wish he'd comeback to us st some capacity. He's amazing at recruitment and player management. This guy sounds like he owns car washes unreal
Glad we didnt get on the play offs or promotion this year. Kompany showed what happens when you get promoted sooner than you had planned. Maybe im happy in the miserable division
I live in Hull but i don't support them, that being said, it was nice to have city buzzing & be proud, with positive progress in the Championship. This decision, though, seems very short-sighted.
Should of sacked him before the Plymouth match save him setting up to lose to make his old gaffer Rooney feel better for getting sacked for his cracking spell managing BCFC
An idiotic decision to top all idiotic decisions. The most promising young manager in the football league, I would go as far as saying a possible future England manager, tossed aside by an egotistical foreign chairman as though he were a failure when he has actually over-achieved. Lets see what backlash this causes against the chairman next season.
Bla bla bla Acun Ilıcalı wants success. There is no time to wait for the young coach to become experienced. Acun Ilıcalı wants a more experienced attacking coach. After all, a lot of money is spent And the team cannot afford to fail. How can Hull City, worth 105 million Euros, stay out of the 7th Play Off, behind Norwich, worth 63 million Euros? Also, against a last place team like Playmouth in the last match. He may be out of the play offs by playing ineffective football against and losing. We have seen that Liam was ineffective in many of his matches. If there is any success, it is due to the quality of the players.
@@Hibrahim1 I’m pretty sure you have little understanding of the league we play in. The teams that finished above us are financially much better off than us. To grind out a place that high in the table with a bunch of loaners and also-rans is an immense achievement. The ‘three year plan’ devised by the chairman and the manager was almost achieved in two years! Why give him a contract extension and shortly after sack him? Right now, the chairman’s credibility in Hull is wavering. Rosenior will be snapped up quickly by a better club than us and all for what? We are left with half the squad we need, no manager, no back room staff and what kind of idiot would want to work for a club that sacked the manager after such a strong season? Acun looks pathetic and has made a very unnecessary and divisive decision.
Agree mate was gutted as a Derby fan when he was suddenly replaced, though fortunately it turned out well (eventually!). Rosenior's a smart, dignified bloke with good leadership skills.. as far as his career in management goes I too believe that his best is yet to come
@@mrdeafa25 I agree, he liked his style of football when he extended that contract but changed his mind after a few short months even though they achieved so much
I have to admit, I was rollicking this owner before I heard and too time to understand what he wanted and meant. It's always good to listen to both sides of the story, the owner jusy wants to have a team of flair players that excites him and he doesn't want to onky win matches. Well, good luck to him.
@LeafyPeach I know. Im not saying it was the right decision to sack liam or get walter, im saying i can see why they sacked liam, it wouldn't have been my choice but it wasnt going great under liam if you went every week youd realise he was wasteful and boring . Walter is worse
@@jamesallen8917 bruh it was the best hull did in quite a long time, they were on the rise. This decision doesn't seem like a smart one at all sporting wise. Unless the manager loses the trust of the dressing room they should always be given time to continue ascending.
@LeafyPeach i was there every week mate, the football was dire , we had assembled a great squad and we snatched draws from winning positions too often. I would have kept rosy yes but i can understand the decision
Hull were punching above their weight with Rosenior, pathetic decision. Watch them slide down now with this ridiculous owner who sounds like a complete plank. Hope they go down next season.
