Hullabaloo March 1966 with the Mamas and Papas California Dreamin and Dionne Warwick. 

Hullabaloo must have had a franchise of music based clubs as there was one in my little town. There was no alcohol of course but stuff like black lights and black light posters on the walls were the motif. The Peppermint Rainbow opened the club who had a hit at the time. It is now a Baptist church.

The whole show blows up to stellar level as announcer intros beautiful, voluptuous Dionne Warwick.

Sad that the colour videotapes were wiped. Only three programmes survive in colour

The dancers would be in their late 70s to early 80s today. I wonder if they ever watch these videos and remember their gyrating.

Bathtubs and plumbing pipes......ridiculous. We knew the embarrassingly bad sets and situations great performers were forced to be in was completely unforgivable and so bad. Very few TV shows then respected the artists. It changed radically in a few years, but it was tortuous for them and us at the time.
