I guess the author wasn't a native English speaker. It's a shame they didn't have a proofreader review it before having it narrated. The misuses of tenses and plurals are only minor, but they're so widespread that they really detract from the story.

Text to speech AI is entirely too common for its overall incompetence. I’ve begun downvoting the channels that use the worst ones, but this one wasn’t as bad as some.
