You hop on a boat and slowly row away from shore, you get a feel of how windy it is out at sea, how strong the tides are. Eventually you lose sight of the shore and find the perfect spot to fish. You take out your fishing rod, open the box where you store your bait and put it on the rod. You stand up, take a deep breathe and as you raise your rod say "this is it". Finally with your bait now in water you wait, eventually you'll be successful and catch that fish.

Wall of text incoming The fast movement comes from bunnyhopping. Mind you that is very hard, if not impossible to do on a console, but very easy on PC. It is done by jumping continuously whilst holding two directional keys at the same time (left and forward, or right and forward). Some camera movement also makes it easier to gain speed, but youll just have to watch the video and try for yourself. The reason this is harder on console, is that simply holding the analog stick diagonally isnt going to achieve the same effect, and jumping, moving diagonally and adjusting the camera at the same time on a controller is difficult. You will certainly move a bit faster than you would normally, but nothing compared to what you get on a PC. As for the jumping further part, some of it is achieved by the momentum we get from bunnyhopping, as explained above. For stand-still jumps, or slow-moving jumps; strafe-jumping is what works. An example of this is at 1:32 where i jump once just to set myself up, and then strafe-jump to get onto the train. This jump is possible without the initial jump to set myself up, but it is faster that way, so why not. Strafe-jumping is achieved by holding two directional keys (as done in the bunnyhopping explanation), and jumping while jolting the camera in the direction of the jump. This should more or less be possible on console aswell, but i have not done all that much testing on console yet.

Speedrunning isn't for everyone. I too enjoyed playing the game just for fun to its completion. Then i stuck with speedrunning for the remainder of my playtime.
