Since it is an alliance clonony why would they be attaking it. Who sent the distress call and why. If the humans were resonding a aussistance request from non human group why would they think it was theirs.How can both sides be responding to a request for aid from a colony and neither fleet be attacking the colony. It appears the setup for this story has alot of inconsistencies. Was this written by AI?

All these stories talk about damage ships listing to one side in space. That only happens in the water because they talk on water. That doesn't happen in space.

Well, if you really think about it, virtually all ships would need batteries of thrusters all around the hull to move in a 3D environment. Our current real world spacecraft are the same. Now, damage a few of them while a ship is trying to manoeuvre and the thrust vectors will be thrown off.

Listing means a vessel takes on water and tilts to one side. In space, similar instability can occur in theory when a ship suffers sudden decompression. This ejection of atmosphere from breached compartments changes the mass distribution and momentum. Combined with uneven propulsion from malfunctioning or damaged engines, the ship can tilt and drift off course. Though the term 'listing' originates from naval terminology, it effectively describes the loss of stability and unintended tilt in a spaceship. Despite the differences in environment, the outcome is similar, making 'listing' an apt term in this context.

it's possible from a point of view. watch the old robotech and starblazers cartoons they show ships listing to the side when hit. also are ships flying through space? or a thousand other terms used loosely to explain something. did you know the egyptian pyramids aren't even called that? the greeks came up with that name for a loaf of bread they looked like. so we give things familiar names to explain it.
