I've played Quarry on PS4 and wanted to get a PC copy, so, I'm glad I'd waited this long and got the choice as soon as I saw the headline title. Add to the that the fact that it's Deluxe edition and a 4-dollar discount coupon humble offered me, I'm super happy this month! For 6,20 euros it's a steal.
Hey, great review and thanks for the callout! I appreciate it. And wait... you didn't like BPM? Did you play more since that Choice's review that changed your mind? I remember you saying BPM was great back then. Hadn't thought about the micromanaging in Lords of Villeins. That really would get out of hand with bigger settlements. And things really did take forever. I thought about this after I made the review, but the fact that I had everything on times 4 speed doesn't really seem great. Also, I thought the rhyming was horrible too in A Juggler's Tale...and then there were times when the narrator didn't rhyme and it was weird? Or when they tried to have the words rhyme but they didn't. Wasn't sure what was up with that or if the writer just decided to phone it in because they couldn't figure out how to make it work. I plan on continuing the Quarry as well (with my wife), but I'm kind of a scaredy cat when it comes to horror too lol. Although, I think the difference here is that I like the horror genre and will actively try to consume it whereas sounds like you try to stay away? Anyway, good luck with your playthrough, man!
Games like Juggler's Tale need to learn that we don't want or need a nonstop narrator. Also interesting to note that Mr. Prepper has This War of Mine style gameplay. Anyway, half half month for me, I'm really not that interested in those film style games, so it ended up with 2 wishlist, 2 skip, and the rest average. Hellsinger is going to be such a blast, I love it.
Thank you Kingling for your good work. Your Review help me to decide wich games I install and wich i leave out. For me its an good Month. Those supermassive games itch an evil spot in me where I enjoy making the deadliest decision possible.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I went renegade in Mass Effect because "Han Solo" and loved it, and then I found out like only 8 percent of people play renegades in that game, and that's even a "mild" version of evil, but it's where these games are more interesting.
Well, I love SuperMassive-games, but I usually don't buy them for full price. So with House Of Ashes and The Quarry still on my wishlist, this month was a clear win for me with these two games already. But than we also got - suprisingly - Spirit Of The Island - again one of my wishlist titles. Sooo, unlike last month - I think if you have played The Forgotten City already as a mod, the game becomes stale quite fast... and I have played way too much of the Borderlands-games to care about Tiny Tinas's Wonderlands or anything that is even remotely similar to that franchise - I'm really happy this month. Don't care about Metal: Hellsinger or the other smaller titles (these are usually the ones that save bundles for me if I don't care about the headliners) this month, though.
This month definitely feels like it has a lot of filler. Hellsinger's been on gamepass since release so I'm not hugely interested by its inclusion. The Quarry and House of Ashes seem to be the main draw. Rebel Inc seems decent. Everything else just seems a bit non-descript. I'm fine with unknown indie games, I think it's nice to always have some. But I don't want ones that feel slightly asset-flippy, or like bland clones of existing games... and some of the stuff this month seems that way to me.
Thanks for watching it all. Yeah if you aren't impressed by the half way point don't know if the second half well help that month, this was really front loaded.
House of Ashes and the Quarry were both awesome with The Quarry being superior. Great bundle had I not already watched those games via LP. Not sure how many people feel the same way...but I largely enjoy watching an LP of those games more than actually playing them solo. So I'm skipping the month...but I still think its a good month.
That's probably why they added in Movie mode to these games because they are good in the LP format. Still if you've seen them, I'm sure you're making the right choice.
Maybe next year, they have a solid game in signalis, but I think since that was a coupon in the Awesome Games, it might be a while until it reaches Humble. RE7 or 8 would be sweet as well, but I wouldn't hold my breath for those two. (Except while playing them.)
Good idea hyping up your retro game review. People like me watching just your humble monthly reviews might be interested in what else you're planning for us. Not too pushy either about it!
