You need two play styles, you can play more rush where you go straight for them or passive where you stand back and block more . Most players will be weaker to one of them.

don't be hating on passive play, it's way better to let people dash at you and get comboed then hope that your dash lands and that you get the combo

If you can properly land combos with him and don’t spam the moves (side dash and front dash instead) then your good with genos. As long as you don’t spam with the character.
