I wish engineers would have made it luxury with car like doors. Because hummer has no enough space for luxury seats all the space is consumed by center bump.
Gotta keep in mind this is from back in the 80s and 90s. Fuel efficiency wasnt a big selling point of american designs at the time, especially with that much torque (as i recall one of the engines looked at was a gasoline design with single digit mileage). Add to that the cost and reliability concerns of outfitting an entire military and all in all the 6.2 was a rather efficient engine averaging 14mpg (with a spread from 4-24mpg, oh the joys of analogue designs).
