The Humminbird Helix Key, Button Function is revisited in this video to complement my earlier RU-vid video. My previous video was only 34 seconds and I felt I needed to redo it to help new users completely understand the view key and how it works. The views x-press menu is a far more efficient way to find the desired view than clicking through each possible view. As always, I try to add advanced tips for experienced anglers. New Humminbird Helix users will find this video helpful in navigating the view key using the views x-press menu.

I accidentally caught you on my smart TV and you are really helping to clear things up as I bought a new Helix 8 last fall and am trying to figure this out. My old unit was 12 year old Lowrance so it is completely different.

Hi Steve, As Brad says, Thanks for not skipping the details on the simple things. Most videos that I've watched others talk like the experts they are and leave most of us well behind. I have a question, at 2:20 on the video there is an Icon of a cassette tape in the top left. Do I need to use this for recording to share my video chart recordings of my lakes to Humminbird on line?

You can record information from your screens so that you can play them back. I personally have not shared information from continuous recordings. Screenshots are easily transferable to a sd card and you can make a duplicate copy to share with your friends. It’s worth a try for sure. I believe that recordings are not as easily shareable. If you try, I would love to know if you can. Maybe I will play with it when I have a recording. We can all learn together.

Question....When you press and hold the View key to access either the Sonar box or the Chart box, will any of the views the owner has previously chosen to be "hidden....not visible" show up?

Hi David, I would expect those views to not show up when you hold the view key but I haven’t tested that out. Just make sure that the views you want are visible and not hidden. The common choices are visible because they are popular.
