You put the chip in with the unit off and then turned on? If so and nothing happend check the SD card on the computer make sure the update file is on the card. If so and nothing happens your unit might already have the newest software installed
Great tutorial. I tried restoring via Bluetooth and it kept failing before the install completes. Going to try it with an SD card instead. Seems to update much faster with the card.
@@andretullier3469 thanks hummingbird sent me the update I think 2.23 or something like that, I talk to them and the email me the updated , I had to small of a SD card ,down load went okay, I won't know until next spring if it's fixed or something else is wrong
I’ll give this a try on my SI 7 Gn 2 the side image is very gridy , barley can se any thing when I’m on the side image screen or the down image screen. Thanks I’ll let you know if it works.
Nope I actually dont know the best way to report a software bug but u can def call humminbird and report it there. Is it the display lighting when powering off and back on?
Nope. Since the last update to 2.280 and Basemap 1.031, my units tells me 'Selected Chart Card not found. Switching to Auto Map Source', directly after start-up. When I go to my chart settings, I can switch it to 'Navionics' and the Navionics chart is shown. But after a reboot it tells me the same, forcing me to change it again. I'm already in contact with HB by mail, but that's a very slow process til now...
Would love to know if you need to do restore factor defaults on a Solix12 before you do the update on it. I can't seem to be able to up load the updates at all. Don't think its the same on a Helix as a Solix, Thanks for the help
I wish I could tell you for sure bud! From what i know it's not mandatory, just a recommendation. I would think they would be the same update pattern as a helix
@@HumminbirdHelp Let me ask you have 2 units on your boat and I am assuming one is Si-D- and the other is just Di. I actually have a mega si and a gen 1 si on the dash just because I upgraded. I use my mega si as full screen side imaging to get the biggest clearest picture of what's going on around me. My second unit I strictly use for gps only just go have more accurate location of which way I'm going. When I had 1 running si and gps split screen I couldnt accurately read from anywhere on the boat

I personally have yet to ever have an issue after updating my humminbird. Think restoring the defaults before u update will keep u from having issues. Thanks for your comment
