Am I the only one who's watching these dramas for the first time?

Nobody bothered to ask khirad what she wanted. Wow! Desi manipulation at it's best.

Ashar father became extremely emotional in his sister's love that in anger he gave warning of giving "talaq" to his wife that's wrong, now Ashar's mother hate will increase more towards Khirad💔🥺🥺

Two mistakes made by the Dad. First he neglected his sister when he should have taken care of her. Second he emotionally blackmailed his son to help him get rid of his guilt of irresponsibility.

As hard as it is to watch Ashar's father essentially emotionally blackmail him into marrying Khirad, at least his father bothered to ask him. No one asked Khirad a thing and then psychotic Sarah comes and gets in her face, making all of kind of rude assumptions and derogatory statements about Khirad, a person she had just met and didn't know. Khirad should've slapped her and been like clearly you have feelings for him, take this up with him and his family, but don't bring this noise to me.

Emotional blackmailing is the best trait of desi parents

Is drama me sache khare aur pakeeza rishte dikhaye gye hain jo aik dosre ka adab aur maan rakhne k lye qurbani dia karte the. Jab koi shakhs qurbani deta he to Allah us k badle usay dunya aur akhirat me bohat kuch ata kar deta he. Dosro ki khushi k lye apni khushi ki qurbani dena aik azeem jazba he.

This is such a wonderful drama but with no English titles I don't understand a word.Saw it on Netflix years ago and fell in love with it.

I'm watching this drama for the first time and so far, Ashar's father is the most toxic person on this show. All the points raised by Ashar's mother - and even Sarah, to some extent - are accurate. He's just destroying his son's life for purely selfish reasons. He never even discussed it with his wife! And when she rightfully raised concerns, he was a typical desi man and threatened to divorce her. And while the remarks made about Khirad are derogatory, I don't blame everyone for being concerned - after all, Ashar and Khirad are from two vastly different backgrounds in all aspects - socially, educationally, economically - and they've hardly interacted. They don't appear compatible at all. The second most toxic person so far is Sarah. She can't handle rejection and she's making Ashar's horrible situation all about herself. HE'S the one being forced into marriage and she's acting like the victim by lashing out. How is she any different from typical desi man who can't stand it when a woman says no?

Ashar is such an insensitive person! He handled Sarah so badly and later Khirad too!

Families always expects sacrifices and YES Unexpected ones are hard

Why was Khirads' mother so worried about her daughter? She was old enough to make her way in this world and take care of herself. It's not as if she was a 10 year old child. And why do the parents have to pick the partner? Where does love come into the picture? If it ever does

Truly an evergreen, forever memorable drama. The memories I have with Humsafar omg, *nostalgia.* Btw Farida Aunty is that toxic jealous alag thalag and aloof bhabhi/mami LOL. But Khirad’s mamun is strong he’s a good brother and mamun he stands up for his sister and niece.

What is so unique about this Drama,may be acting....it is all about emotional blackmail of a father of his son, It is disempowering with no inspiration. Education is the key for empowerment to make right choices. Compromise package here all in all.

Why parents emotionally black mail their children in case of marriage. This is the reason of toxic relationship between husband and wife. It happened in my family, one girl was forced by her parents to marry my cousin. They were never happy and the end of relationship was divorce.

I don’t understand what Ashar’s problem was with marrying Khirad. He had to marry someone. Was he going to marry Sara even though he didn’t love her? He said that he wasn’t sure that he and Khirad could be happy married but would he of been happy with Sara even though he had no feelings for her? What was the point of him bringing it up to his mother? What was she going to do about it? He made a big deal out of marrying Khirad for no reason at all.
