It’s mainly used to bring out the flavors of the fruits he added and flavor the drink some more. Albeit they’re most likely masked by the taste of Hawaiian Punch, pineapple juice, and alcohol

This is a very old recipe modified over the years for fun I assume, very good drink not as intimidating as it looks. Can't even taste the liquor if it's made right.
While in the USAF back in the 70s our Everclear parties began on Friday night and with a new trash can. Cover charge was fruit while the Everclear was arranged. Being stationed outside of Rapid City, SD we usually had the party in the badlands or in the Black hills. This was necessary because after a couple of times putting the word out we learned no one's house/apt had enough room. Like I said the party started Friday night but for those of us that had to report in on Monday, Sunday was time to go back. Of course there was usually leftover joy juice that there were some slow to go well into the week. Also someone always seemed to be coming back off leave and show up with a pocket full of hometown flavor to share.
@@xD-zw6jn yes but you’re not meant to drink vodka by the cup. It’s more reserved for shots. When people see punch they fill up a cup, which ends up being a lot of alcohol in this case
So I wanted to try this since I haven’t seen anyone who did try it. Obviously I ain’t making five gallons of this, but I did the math to get roughly the same proportions of stuff to get around an 8oz serving (omitted the fruit though, just didn’t have any). I had two, 8 oz glasses spaced over two hours and it tasted great, I thought the alcohol would be overwhelming but everything balanced out. That being said it killed me...
I had a jungle juice version of this at a frat party in queens once. We had red solo cups and scooped out the drink from the bathtub. I am not exaggerating at all- from the first sip I legit had hiccups for three full days and three full nights. It was terrifying hahah.
