TKA’s Smith Family Conservatory of the Arts, a two-time American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program recently produced "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mr. Nathaniel Adams (Director of Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Director of Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Mr. Douglas Gawriljuk (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Mrs. Heidi Martin (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft & Technical Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Director of Instrumental Arts), Mrs. Stephenie Grasso (Instrumental Arts) Mr. Patrick Clifford (Instrumental Arts Strings), Mr. Austin Parenti (Media Arts Director), Mrs. Mary McCarty (Media Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Mrs. Virginia Nucci (Visual Arts), and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Instrumental Arts Piano).

@@ezelfrancisco1349 in musical theatre when you give a character a certain voice. Like how he gives himself that grungy voice. It has to stay consistent. You can't drop the accent just because of a song. Otherwise it completely ruins the illusion of that character being real

Collin Lewis I agree, but I think the reason his voice in hoarse in dialogue is because that’s what the other characters hear. When he’s in soliloquy, it’s clear because that’s what he hears

Collin Lewis the switch in dialect was intentional. It’s symbolic of his inner beauty despite a coarse voice and strange look to him. Remember, this song is meant to show his deepest feelings.

I've watched a few productions of this on RU-vid, but the actor who plays Quasimodo in this production is the best. The way he walks, talks, everything makes you feel sympathy for him. And then his voice changes to sing songs like this perfectly.

The movies and play is a masterpiece. Heaven's Light is a person wishing to be loved, to be accepted. Meanwhile Hellfire is a person demand love. Both wanted loved. But each went different ways to achieve it.

This guy’s performance does a really good job of balancing the movie version and musical version! His voice has that sweet quality to it that I adore about Movie!Quasi and found myself really missing when I listened to the cast recording (not that that version isn’t also good-just my personal preference). I’m very, very impressed!

Great respect for the actors. I love musicals and have seen quite a few in Germany. But every time I am happy again when a video comes. Especially when there are such wonderful singers as in this piece. Good luck and success to the young artists.

Literally the only thing I have to gripe about it his costume. It just looks too clean and new. Other than dude, BRAVA. This was such a sweet, sentimental version. I loved the switch between Quasi's speaking voice and his inner monologue. Gorgeous.

I love the line change. It always bothered me that the line in the movie didnt rhyme. The original line is "kissed my cheek without a trace of fright" and i always thought, even as a teen, "touched my face without a trace is right there"

beautifully sung. Just too slow. I actually miss the intent of the song because of how long it takes to hear a phrase. Again beautifully sung, awesome voice. But sometimes slower is not better.
