Had swords as a kid, but WOW, black and red 7 sword is a BEAUTY. My in-laws have an empty tank in Luzon. When I return, I think I will set it up for them and have to have you sell and ship me 6 or more. Their grand children will love them.

Very common fish in Mexico to start an aquarium, i had a blue variation of this fish don't know how rare that is.... And yes I'm aware that there is a green one, but no the ones i had where blue sky, or blue Celeste.

Mr.Dexter thanks for yet another informative video. These sword tails used to be a favourite of mine as a kid.We used to have a particular strain which was pure deep bright red with red clored eyes. We used to call them "Red Mollies" I have'nt seen any pure red mollies since a very long time....not sure if we can still find those types these days. Thanks once again for cheering me up and taking me back to those wonderful childhood days.

Love the show Dexter one thing about Lyre Tail Swords though. In my experience the males with the long lyre tail and extended gonopodiums aren't able to successfully reproduce so if you cull too much and take out all the males with out that gene you might not have any more fry ,"mine weren't able to anyway." The normal finned ones however can reproduce like any other sword and do pass on the gene. Not sure if you've experienced this or not but I have with pretty much all of them that have the extra long gonopodiums.

I have never seen such beautiful Swordtails! I have had red with black tails and fins and the plain orange and the green ones.I have never seen a Butterfly Swordtail (or the half red and half white Kohako ones) in Australia. Perhaps I have missed something, I must check :)

Be careful of the PH, I have lost several fish because of a large PH change when the rain ran into my tanks which are normally very hard water.. PH matters!

U should separate the different colour morphs, so u will have different coloured sword tails for ur shop. Black tail, orange body and the full orange sword tail fish!!

They are not rare sword tail, I had them in the early 1990. Sword should be counted on the tail not on the dorsal fin, both male & female have the same unique tail & dorsal fin pattern. Only male swords become bigger. You will find them in various colors & you will also find them in red & black eyes color.
