Damn I miss this band so much. We all grew up in Myrtle and their hometown shows were absolutely insane. I’ll never forget the peanut warehouse show. Best times of my life
"Weathered Town" song commentary by vocalist Chadwick Johnson: "This is one of the earliest songs written for the record, but I could never really find vocals to fit the mood I got from the song until a couple weeks before we left for the studio. Lyrically, it’s pretty personal. It deals with escaping things at home that bring me down, all while trying to salvage relationships that have some time and memories attached to them. The break in the middle of the song deals with living an alternative lifestyle that not a lot of people can understand. Giving up on formal education and career choices, jumping in a van and driving around the country, living on what money we can scramble together. The title of the track came to me in the van, thinking about the loss and heartache our hometown group of friends has dealt with the past couple of years."
Lyrics: Looking in the rear-view mirror at everything that I’m leaving behind. I know this is right, I know it’s my time. Now is my time to escape this weathered town and what this place is all about. I’ve gotta get out of here, but the memories I’ll take with me. Everywhere I go, to everyone I know. These memories will stay with me. To escape this weathered town and what this place is all about. These memories will stay with me... will stay... will stay with me. And I don’t know... I don’t know if you’ll ever understand. You can say that it’s not worth it. And you can say... you can say it’s a wasted life. But the memories, I’ll take with me. These memories, they’ll stay with me. The memories, I’ll take with me. These memories, they’ll stay with me. Holding onto the past each day leaves me empty, wanting everything to be the way it was. There are better days to come, I just have to... I have to let go... (let go, let go) of the things that I have done and the ones who have moved on. I’ve gotta get out of here, but the memories I’ll take with me. Everywhere I go, to everyone I know. These memories will stay with me. I’ll escape this weathered town and what this place is all about. The memories, they’ll stay with me... they’ll stay... they’ll stay... they’ll stay... with me.
Drummer definitely never learned single pedal before he learned double pedal. You can really hear it at certain points, but I applaud the effort he puts into it. Most would cheat and continue using double bass or maybe his right leg is just tired... who knows. I love them
***** i hear you man. i live where counterparts started as a band and have liked them since 2009, literally ive watched every album after prophets come out and they all say "prophets is better." etc etc. i love every album.
Grotsnik1992 Thats live sound mate. It doesnt have the same depth as the tracks do.. Plus if it was remixed and all that the vocals would be 10x better.
Chris Hailey That doesn't mean someone didn't mix it afterwords. It's still the live tracks, someone just probably mixed them after for youtube, you guys are both half right. Remixing doesn't= Retracked.
Threw it up in the ceiling and it got stuck. lmao CHAAAD. LOVED hot they slowed down. I died a little. BAA BAA. BA DA DA DA DA DA DA. DAAA DA DAA.!!! CHEATING ON THE SUN
Seriously, who the fuck comes to these videos and dislikes them? There's not one video on youtube without a dislike bar. God damn. Do people just click through the suggestion videos and dislike them? Fucking A, how does one dislike Hundredth?
Man, i find it weird how on almost every video I watch people complain about others who don't like it. As if the whole world is meant to have the same opinion or something.
Sketchy Luke Out of all things, a Hundredth video though? How the hell does someone even come across this video if they don't even know who they are or at least the tags that are put in the video? It's stupid.
I got here by clicking on a link that showed up in the youtube sidebar. Clicking on videos from bands I've never heard of is how I find new music to listen to. I mean, it's cool and all if you like this band but it's not my cup of tea.
