I am a Hungarian. This gov has 2/3 in the country. The only gov in europe supported by votes by this ratio. Borders closed for illegal ones. Of course. Bring your passport. And then you can cross us. BBC is trying to downplay the importance of the borders. Long live Hungary 🇭🇺. Peace for all.
Respect. In my opinion Hungary is better than other EU countries. Although I haven't seen all of them, I think Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Cyprus, Poland, Czech is rather representative example. Hungary is better than all of them. Keep going on.
@@sergeiepatov7683 These countries you mention above are awesome. I wouldn't say we are better or anybody else is better. Just let our gov govern the country according to voters wish. Peace for all
Of course, the real dictator of the USER (Union of Soviet European Republics) is that fine lefty liberal billionaire JP Juncker , who has never been voted into power , except by a fully loaded EU Commission (er...Politburo) . He is the Fuhrer (guide)
@Hakim Habib I am not a conspiacy theorist at all , just a pragmatic , centrist historian who respects truthful reporting and looking at both sides of any story. Orban: 14 years in power, 16 years in opposition. EU commission leaders chosen internally.
Hungary and Poland the best countries in EU. We admire your policies and your politicians who work and act for their people's rights. Greetings from Greece.
@sushgram But in exchange economically stronger and independent country, free of debt and banks. In normal situations it would be possible to apply more liberal methods, but this is not, it's situation where the west is pushing its agenda on the small country in order to make it their slave.
Hungary 🇭🇺 don't forget your history like France, Belgium 🇧🇪 Britain Germany 🇩🇪 and The Netherlands 🇳🇱 did look what they got for being politically correct, not to mention Sweden 🇸🇪.

Very good hard questions. Asked hard questions when interviewing the university rector and also when interviewing the secretary of state. Pressuring both sides for the truth, very good, doing the opposition to power that the media is supposed to do.
If anyone is a 'threat to democracy' in the West today, it is those leaders of the countries who claim to be 'democratic'. Nearing my old age, I have spent my life in 'democracies' and I can say this - the usage of those who claim to be 'democratic' to undermine countries, both in the cultural, economic, and sovereign sense, is a cancerous thing that has created a reaction that will not go away.
@@beasheerhan4482 Democracies, many times, do very bad things indeed. Do you believe they do it *because* they are democtatic? What would be the better alternative to democracy, then?
@@tiagow95 Very good point, Dear Tiago. The reality is that there is neither a better nor a worse alternative to 'Democracy', for there is no enlightened system to suit all peoples. Moreover, no matter how good a system is, if the men who lead that system are corrupt or treacherous, the system fails. The same for a people, because, if their politicians are good, and the system is good, but, the people under it are lazy and lawless, that situation does not work, either. So, as you know, the whole human situation is very complex and often extremely frustrating, if not disastrous. One thing is for sure, however - I do not believe any country has the right to lecture other countries about who they ought be! Be well!
Your argument doesn't support dialogue but hypocrisy. This video is an attack against democracy, because the majority of European citizens, never supported mass uncontrolled migration. Why leaders of Africa, Muslim countries, Israel, etc were never forced to reply to these kind of questions? Could you mention some Muslim countries which promoted human rights? If the governments of these millions migrants can't provide them human rights why you think that Europeans could?
7.09 Anoyher messy trick: the country of 10 million can not manage 3-4 million migrants. And 7.20 They can help them by bringing food, clothes. From both side of the borderline.
What would a reporter do if thousands of foreigners were brought there by plain and parachuted into his country who couldn’t, and do not want tell where they came from, and also because they didn’t have any ID documents.
there comes an image from the Kadar period of communism mostly prefered.. why because everybody had what they needed compared to the circumstances of other communist countries. there was stability in hungary until 89. long story short between 90-2010 the country could not get use to that old fashioned democracy us uk represent. People especially with a 'getting old society' did not see enough good until Viktor Orban came. And he could manage to give somewhat that image back in my opinion. and the country is more stable than it was before.
If liberals acted like liberals and not like a thought police, Orban would have no problem with them. If they didn’t want to say who should think what and would rather think, they, the liberals themselves, would do better.
Marta, what's the population of Hungary? Its abt 10 million pplz, Mark. What are the major unfrastructure projekts goung onn in Hungary over the past decade & more? Hungary has been a EU partner for over 2 decades now, & Mr V Orban since 2010 has been in power, over his tenure, all the traits of crony capitalism, authoritarian rule, kleptocracy, are witnessed in Hungary. The major infra projekts in Hungary are the rail road projects, highways, mega construction activities, etc etc... And football stadium? Ooohh yeeah a giant football stadium has come up recently, a pet project of Mr V Orban. How are these projejts beibg funded? Largely funded by the EU, who has been pourung funds into central & eastern European countries to pull them up, at par with the western european countries. That's very well, yet where & how will Hungary fund the man power, the bonded labor, the slaves, free & 'cheap labor to be yoked to these mega construction projekts, infra projejts, all benefitting Mr V Orban, his pals, son in law, relatives...? That's the chief issue we' re confronting in Hungary. In the pretext of labor supply to the massive projejts all round in East & Central Europe, all kinds of hordes of illegal immigrants are pouring into Hungary, from, Ukraine, Romania,... and largely from the South, ie Croatia, Serbia? Yes, the Islamic immigrants, incl infiltrators in the garb of illegal migrants... Hiw could any number of illegal migrants ever be a threat to any country, i do not get this, Marta, exolain please... On the surface, what u say is very true. How could the most vulnerable, heloless pplz, barely managing their survival be a threat to anybody, unless? unless, they're forcibly duped into bonded labour, cheated of their dues, rightful daily wages for their work rendered over gruelling long hours... & 'left to fend for themselves once the projects are completed, unless they're absorbed into other projekts by crony contractors of the V Orban govt. Soooh the HR issue that u rightfully rail & rant abt isca global issue? What would be the %age of these bonded labour immigrants? Around 10% of Hungarian population... Sooh the real issue is the raging unresolved conflucts, wars, battles? True. the ongoing war in Ukraine since 2014 if not since 2008... and above all, the conflict of the century in Europe post 1945.... the implosion of Yugislavia, the unresolved Serbia, Bosnia, Kosovo issue... Sooh what's the point if blaming any singke individual, however mighty he or she may be? say like Mr George Sorros even if he's stirring the conflict pot, piuring milliions of his speculatuve riches into his once upin a time home country? BBC - Stephen Sgakuri would never raise the pertunent, relevant issues... but BBC, dies not even allow us to answer, & speak freely & edits out large portions of our respinses, what can we do?
Liberalism when it is taken to extremes or its final destination leads to bad things. Unbridled immigration from very dissimilar groups leads to fragmentation and a poor society in almost every way. Too much diversity does lead to a rich culture but to no culture except anarchy!!
Hungary should forfeit the EU funding - they are either #1 or #2 recipient of EU funds - if they refuse to abide by EU law and the EU should start ejection proceedings.
Orban is funny in a way when he builds walls around Hungary to keep out immigrants... As if anyone in their right mind would WANT to go to Hungary anyway. Much better to go to WINNER countries like Germany and such.
That's alright. We are all agree that all the cannibals must to go to the "WINNER" countries. The one which one's Führerin call them. But why do you want to force tenthousands of them on us 5 years ago?! Keep all those "beautiful" people! We are "culturally enriched" more than enough!
Even Ms Merkel has said the mass migration is a problem ... 4 years after the 2015/2016 migrant crisis ... which basically means she agrees with Mr Orban 4 years too late .... Ms Merkel's decision to welcome the migrants led directly to Brexit ... this again is something she acknowledged when she counseled the other EU leaders not to rush to judgement over Poland / Hungary rule of law issues ....
You got it wrong again, like you did it so many times before. Hungary is protecting the schengen border against illegal imigration. If you have a passport, or can otherwise identify yoursef, you can pass no problem. This is the actucal schengen law. Hungary is getting bad rep for obeying the law.
not really - it makes you think 🤔 if a radical nationalism is ok - I heard both sides and I totally understand Hungary doesn’t want to be ruined by refugees Is it still ok like this?
Hungary has been through a lot over the years and deserve to run their Country the way they want FOR HUNGARIANS..They only have 10 million people and dont need an influx of people that will change the Country..If anyone doesn't like the way Hungary is doing things they should shut their mouths and go to France.

16.30 There is a Reformed church principle. Put yourself in order first, then your family, then take care of the community. Felcsút is not an example of an oligarch investing there, but a promise of what Hungary will look like one day.
Exactly. EU can deliver no help to countries, just criticism. Mr. Orban is applying very similar/identical measures as neighboring- or Western European countries to face the very serious situation and he is blamed for abusing democracy. Nobody has been arrested in the last 10 years abd nobody will be arrested for simply criticising the government. Hungary is a liberal democracy, but the problem with Mr. Orban is that he has not joined the illuminati nor is he a Rotschild like Macron.

I am confused, where is the threat to democracy? The most valid critique seems to be potential wasteful spending on a train line, while all the other issues are merely political disagreements about migration, etc. I was expecting statements about him banning voting, etc.
we are an independent and free nation. hungarian. and no need to tell us, how to live, what polititions to vote. after Trianon, you can be shut up to 100 years. and one more thing, hungarians never colonized the half of the globe, so not a british has a right to critisese us. sorry.
Firstly, criticism is part of freedom of speech. BBC is allowed to criticize Hungary as much as they want. Secondly, you don't live in a free society any more do you? I don't care if Hungary doesn't want immigrants. But Viktor Orban just gained emergency powers that give him rule by decree. There will be no more elections and the parliament is suspended. A law is passed that could be interpreted in so many ways that literally saying anything could be a crime. Europe's first official unchecked dictator is in Hungary.
Let's see how well this comment ages. Soon you won't even be able to comment your thought on the internet. You do realise you are using free speech right now. Let's see for how long.
Let me tell you guys. Afterwards CEU stayed in Budapest…. How? Certain NGOs are making politics. Why? How? So the gov want to know where their money is from. That's all. We voters have right to know what NGOs are doing in the country.
The shame is that we can all see that the muslim part of African / Middle east immigration from the last decades is a disaster, but most of our politics refuse to acknowledge that, and because of that, more and more people are against all forms of immigration despite the fact that things are ok as far as muslim Africa / Middle east is not concerned. it's not just an islam problem because the assimilation of the muslims from asia (indonesia for ex) work good. It's not a problem of race because the same problems come with either black or non-black muslims. I would rather have 3 uyghurs comming in my country instead of each 2 muslims from Africa / middle east.
Hello from Romania. I agree with Hungary protection of its culture and borders, all countries should do that, especially against illegal immigrantion, also I appreciate hungarians stance agaist the west leftism wich pretty much destroys the western culture and identity... good job standing against that to the hungarian people! Hovewer I see that Viktor Orban intervenes to much in romanian affairs, he is sponsoring a hungarian parralelism in vulnerable magyar minority's in Romania. This people become more and more isolated, fearful and hateful of Romania, romanians and any foreigner for that matter. Now i agree that romanian government was weak on trying to integrated this people, all they did is to offer them all kinds of benefits (full magyar teaching schools up to high school in almost every large city of Transilvania, theaters exclusively magyar, magyar cultures days and so on) that actually resulted in segregation instead of integration and cooperation, they should instead offer them more economic opportunities and easier ways to learn romanian. Now Orban came every year in Romania, in unofficial visits and all he did is sustaining hungarian parallelism: hungarian sponsored media for the minority that only talks about Budapest on nothing about the country you actually live in, sponsoring szekely farms in Szekely land which again, leads to more segregation, because those farmers only sell in Hungary. I'm not against Hungary helping its citizens, on the contrary, we do help our fellow moldovans too, but what we witnessed is they produce an isolated minority which was already kind of isolated due to the language barrier... Now some of you will point out that romanians, are evil and are oppressing the hungarian minority... Well i can say that some stupid people exist here (they are a few and just loud, not violent) that hate hungarians, most of us DON'T. I have magyar friends in Cluj and Oradea, many years i had a magyar girlfriend, but man you cannot discuss with Szekely people, even young ones... first of all they don't know romanian or english, they are quite scared or hateful of romanians or foreigners in general. I tried to approach some years ago, I even had some acquaintances from the area, and all they shouted was that they don't wanna learn romanian, because they don't wanna be assimilated and it's funny cause they wanna live in Cluj where more than 80% of the population is romanian. There was this case in a village in Szekely land, Ditrău village in romanian, you may know, where all the village gathered with the mayor and priest agaist two Srilankan legal migrants that worked at a bakery... they were so vindictive and aggressive against TWO legal migrants with a finite working contract of 5 years i believe. Please understand that romanians don't want illegal migrants too, but these guys came for work at they bakery because the patron didn't find people willing to work elsewhere in Szekely land, and they came LEGALLY. A lot of racism unraveled from the szekely community towards them, I never saw that before in Romania, all this people consume hungarian sponsored media offered by Orban government. To make matters worse Viktor just posted the greater hungary globe which added fuel to the fire even though most romanins didn't take Iohannis (which was pure dumb populism) statement seriously and all the media basically criticized Iohannis, but i worry some romanians and most hungarians from Szekely land become more and more hatefull, and inevitably this leads to friction, and bad political decisions based on populism and so on. I fear that some day we reach a critical point and I don't want that... What do you guys think?
Entire sections have been edited out of this show - why. They include Shackur bemoaning Hungary's acceptance of aid from China and Russia and Mr. Kovacs pointing out that no aid could be found from #EU and most certainly nothing has come from the UK. The woman Marta Pardavi is more than aware of the laws of the land and yet SHE takes a very nice salary from Civil Society and other malevolent to Hungary donors in order to flaunt the laws of the land. The "immigrants" who weren't fed knew full well they would not be allowed into Hungary under any circumstances so why did they risk the well-being of their children as well as themselves? Keir Starmer (leader of the labour party) has made a cool £10 million from cases like this - only in the UK the taxpayer has to fund it. It's sick
