In the book, she just braided it every now and again to keep it out of her face and to maintain some level of decency. In the book she actually mentioned how messy she looked.
This is the most accurate version of the braid that I've seen so far! Katniss's hair was twisted into the braid even in the last movie, and this is the only tutorial I've seen to incorporate that! Love it! (:

The women who does katniss's hair in the movies uses top shell clams on the top part of her hair for 10mins so when they film it picks up texture in her hair.

You mention that you have fine hair in your videos, but in this one I notice that your hair looks really full. Do you use a specific product to make it thicker? I'm always on the lookout, as someone with formerly thick hair. :(
the stylist that did jennifer lawrence's hair for HG was featured in a cutegirlshairstyles video last year and she showed exactly how she styled her hair, and yes, it was twists.
You were on the right track about the back of her head. They definitely weren't little braids. But they weren't twists either. The hairstylist from the Hunger Games said that she used heath clams on Jennifer Laurence's hair, and because she has dark hair, using the clams really shows the curls. You can watch it on Cute Girl's Hairstyles' channel. But you were headed in the right track! :)
Do love this braid have done since the first trailer for the first movie it's been one of my go to braids ever since its very useful on long hair if you are going to be using a bag that you have to take on and off throughout the day. Just wondering why it would take so long to add to the list¿

A little bit of constructive criticism... I love the braid you did. It's the best that I've seen. But it got a little confusing when you were explaining the twists and stuff. But I think if you were to zoom in a little more on your hands and hair, it would have been a little better. But like I said, I love the braid! I'm going to wear it tomorrow to school bc it's spirit week for me and the topic is fandom. Thank you by the way! :)
Jellybeans sorry the reply is late...as long as you twist ur hair with ur hands u will still get the texture. using a curler is just a little extra step but I don't feel its necessary.
