@@ThunderBoltProductions3 actually, if the theories about Katniss' grandmother being either Lucy or Maude Ivory are true, then Katniss' parents' parents might be alive.
"I think I'll speak for everyone that we won't be watching this movie" Fastforward and the movie was a HIT to the hunger games fans. First of all its a PREQUEL and Lucy is NOTHING like Katniss at all 😂
They def mirror each other, hence why Snow was so pressed by Katniss appearing 64years later in the same District he became mentor. They both made a memorable seen at their reapings
This guy doesnt care how the movie is, he made a propaganda video, since The Snow White feminist actress is here & Hunger Games is a popular franchise so his short will get lots of views & cmmnts
@@Shtickyaight Lucy is a 'performer' because she is part of a 'Gypsy-inspirated' nomad folk that mostly works with dancing, singing and doing artistic stuff. Katniss is a huntress and a fairly skilled fighter
Actually, more like 64 years. Snow was 18 during the 10th Hunger Games, in his 80s by the Katniss Games. Only Mags of the Victors in Catching Fire would have been alive back then. Coin from District 13 wasn't even born yet either.
@mysticalmargaret6105 katniss participated in the 74th hunger games. 64 years after the 10th hunger games. I don't think I saw a baby katniss at the 74th hunger games
@@thereligiousgirlgotmecryin8874 And where exactly did I say that a baby Katniss was at the 74th Hunger Games?? 🤔 In my post I clearly point out that she wasn't even born yet during the TENTH Hunger Games! 🙄
@mysticalmargaret6105 op said the movie took place 48 years before katniss was born. Then you replied 64 years??? 64 years after the 10th hunger games was the 74th. You high or something? Take ur meds
Katniss is cold and antisocial. Lucy is a good kind social butterfly who loves to entertain people. She's honestly way more comparable to Peta, I would say katniss and snow are more of a fair comparison
@@TimeWarp777 I do agree with Lucy and Peeta being alike but Katniss is not a cold person at all, snow doesn’t care about anyone but himself Katniss will drop everything to save the people she actually loves
Surprisingly the movie was pretty good. Unfortunately it came out at the same time as Godzilla minus one.. and the new Godzilla is a masterpiece of a movie.
Nothing is an overstatement. They still share their looks, songs, and even did the same gesture (im pretty sure only in the movies, though, but they did the same exact bow). they even have a blonde lover (this one is funny)!
Then why was she bowing down like katniss? No duh it's a prequel but that still doesn't mean that movie isn't trying to copy the previous source material for a quick buck. Fantastic beasts did it and that was a prequel. You can't get mad at ppl for not liking how Lucy is doing a katniss pose knowing most ppl haven't read the book. They should've had her do something unique to her character
Exactly, he saw Katniss as Lucy Gray and Peeta as himself which was why he was so obsessed with proving that Katniss was faking it when she acted like she was in love with Peeta because he grew to believe that Lucy Gray was acting like she was in love with him when the tenth Hunger Games was going on. It is also probably why Lucy Gray has long dark hair and young President Snow was blonde so parallels between them could be drawn. The major difference is that President Snow let his paranoia destroy the romance forming between him and Lucy Gray while Katniss and Peeta’s romance grew stronger even though Katniss at first questioned how genuine Peeta’s feelings were and Katniss had to act in order to survive.
In the Hunger Games, his line "It's the things we love most, that destroy us." That quote made the movie more powerful when he spoke to katniss while she's in district 13. Come at me!
A lot of stuff I noticed whilst reading the book (ain’t finished yet so please feel free to add more) 1. Snow hates mockingjays and says they should all be dead, he even says that they should be used for shooting practice 2. Lucy says that all they need is a mockingjay to sing (and I thought ‘the mockingjay has sung) 3. Snow hates the person who came up with the Hunger Games!! Like do I need to say any more?? 4. He destroyed the ‘Hob’ because that’s where he saw Lucy perform and it probably angered him that Katniss (the girl he hated) used the place Lucy (the girl he loved) perform 5. Lucy wrote the song that people sing in the rebellion, aka the hanging tree. 6. Lucy sang the song to Maude Ivory to comfort her that Katniss sang to Prim to comfort her on the reaping day!! As I said I may be adding more since I haven’t finished 😊
Man the entire movie theatre was packed for me and at the end everyone was cheering clapping and hollering man when we walked out they had security on us because the thought a fight went out
Everyone isnt happy, somebody like it somebody not. I hate it, its almost full of politics (skin color, gender, money,...), but thats just my opinion. We need to listen to others.
@@kubajr6753what in the actual ever living christ loving fuck does skin color or gender have to do with it?? Were you mad the main character for the original series was a female or is it okay because she's a white female opposed to Lucy Gray, who isn't even the main character 💀
Theres a scary amount of people that do this. Theyll see two hate comments, and come to the conclusion that everyone hates it. Gotta get attention somehow 🤷
At this point just stop making movies for people, because no matter what we do it’s never good enough. Everyone hated the little mermaid live action. Everyone hated Rachel Zegler as Snow White and now it’s the hunger games. This movie was one of the best movies I have ever seen, and the people who are saying it’s bad, most likely, haven’t watched or read any of the hunger games. So I give up at this point all I’m here to say is that this movie was one of the best 8 or 9 out of 10
Not really considering this movie is a prequel and completely ruin katniss character and makes it seem like katniss copied this random bitch who no one even talked about in the og movies, its another way of saying were doing something like rings of power and people are gonna allow it to happen without so much as a fight 😭 hollywood and there woke shit never fails to disappoint me.
The Film will not be good, Yes the Book is amazing, But this Movie won't compare to the other Movies, Different climate in the film industry, This new movie will feel like a netflix show while the other 4 movies will feel like they were made by steven spielberg.
@@RandomVidsforthought The only Rebuttal you have is "bad take"? Even if my take is wrong and completely made up, then you have inherently lost the argument due to your lackluster side of the debate. “I think I’ll speak for EVERYONE that we won’t be watching this movie” What they don’t realize is that Lucy participated in the 10th annual hunger games and Katniss participated in the 74th annual hunger games. Plus, in the 4th movie they literally ended the hunger games.
Correction (this is not supposed to be in some mean, angry, or accusatory way btw cause I know that it is that way with a lot of commenters) both the 74th and some (if you count the fact that it ended early as dropping out) of the 75th Hunger Games
@@hannahdoesacting5820 sorry, what I meant to say is, after coin, and snow died they discontinued the hunger games, or we’re talking about the same exact thing but we worded it differently.
@@lover.1679 yeah what I was just saying was that you said the katniss participated in the 74th Annual Hunger Games but she also participated in the 75th (though not fairly)
After finishing watching the movie at the theatre all the people are so wrong. They judge based off of looks and acts. When in reality the story shows that Lucy was the one who made the song that she kit sang. And kit acts like Lucy, not Lucy acts like kit. And after watching it, it made me realize that breaking someone’s trust can cause them to be the opposite of what they originally believed in. I side with snow for the pain he went through.. 😢
@@wendigo374Not true. People just are insecure when their favourite shows/film get rebooted. They become overly dramatic and start trashing any chances of prequels or reboots because they don't want it to impact their already existing views of the shows/movies. I remember when Star Trek rebooted an alternate universe version of the original story back in 2009 and people were not happy, but there are many still here today, including me, who enjoyed it. The same goes for literally anything with a reboot, prequel, or sequel. There will always be people who will hate. It's just like that.
This is a movie about the Book “Ballad of Songbirds and snakes” although we all love Katniss this is a completely different story. Lucy came before Katniss so she isn’t coping her. And it might be the opposite the only reason why the mockingjay is so significant President Snow is because of Lucy Grey. Remember this is A PREQUEL . Please stop being so negative towards all “New” things This is a great Movie and if you read the book you will get more insight on the Hunger Games timeline.
They literally are nothing alike(actor forced to fight, fighter forced to act), and it’s a prequel. Like 60 years before katniss was even born. The movie is actually really good, and Snow’s acting was really good to
@oliviaaruil I’d love to see you try. The drama has nothing to do with TBOSAS, and she was a perfect actress for Lucy Gray, in my opinion. I would pay good money to see you do it, though.
I think these people have never heard the name “Lucy Gray”, because if they even knew a small part of her character, they would know she’s the complete opposite to Katniss.
People have no idea of the context of the movie and how it will play out. It’s hilarious that they would be comparing Lucy and Katniss. This movie will give so much more parallel and context to the original series and will deepen snow’s character.
Honestly, it just sounds like this guy isn't happy and went "If I'm not happy, then no one is happy". 💀 This movie looks great and hopefully will include all of my favorite songs. Hanging Tree already sounds amazing!
You are inventing the info man just for the clickbaiting. People and fans from all over the world are incredibly proud and exited for this prequel, also the critics have been so damn good and as well, the trailer is pretty well made. So please, stop your strategy just to get attention and money, it sucks
Why is it disrespectful to Katniss for there to be another female Main character. What logic is that?? Was it disrespectful to the character of Black Widow when they introduced Scarlet Witch to the MCU?? No??
But it isn’t a sequel…it’s a prequel. Lucy isn’t trying to be Katniss she literally existed before Katniss. I don’t care what others say I’m hyped as hell for this movie.
Btw Its not about the actor in the new movie the movie is about what happens before kattness was even alive so Lucy grey was the original one and lateness was trying to be her
i mean, you can’t blame them for not wanting to read the books, but it clearly states that this took place in the tenth annual hunger games. and that this is a prequel. they shouldn’t be getting mad

I highly recommend the book it was so good that I read it back to back three times and low-key felt so empty after finishing it bc it was so damn good that I was sad it was over. Lucy gray came first technically. And y’all probably didn’t read the book which is embarrassing because you can’t say anything. The person who wrote ballad of songbirds and snakes IS THE SAME PERSON who wrote the hunger games sooooo connect the dots
I've actually read the books and in the middle of the ballad for song birds and snakes and excited for this movie. People that are hating are the ones who haven't read the books. Like they are going back in time not forward
Lucy is pretty much the opposite of katniss in the book, charismatic, high self esteem, manipulates coriolanus pretending to be in love, ditches the covey
also, she was genuinely in love with coriolanus snow. she wasn’t manipulating him. she left coriolanus because before they ran away into the woods, coriolanus made the mistake of saying “killing *three* people is enough for a lifetime”. she only knew two people coriolanus killed: a tribute in the arena and mayfair, so she asked him who the third person he killed was. of course, he couldn’t admit to betraying sejanus, so he lied and said he killed his old self. further into the woods, coriolanus found the weapons used to kill mayfair. this meant that, with the weapons in his hands, he could destroy the evidence and go back to his life without running away. when lucy gray saw his face of relief, she realized the third person he had killed was sejanus. and, that he didn’t want to run away for her, but to leave his crimes behind him. she felt unsafe, knowing that he ratted out and killed his own best friend, who, like coriolanus said, was like a brother to him. she realized who coriolanus truly was: a manipulator, a snake, and someone who would defend and protect the capitol at any means. that’s why she decided to run away from coriolanus. she thought he would find a way to kill her.
Sorry, did we read the same book? She genuinely loved Snow. She only left the Covey since she knew that the mayor was out to kill her, she truly loved them. I feel like you’re trying to paint her as the villain.
I’ve read the book, and I’ve watched the movie. And all I have to say is that the connection between the two is almost the same. The movie followed along with the book and so many aspects that it was just amazing. I loved this movie. Suzanne Collins is amazing.
