It's a commercial staged to look like an interview. A lot of reality tv shows are the same thing. Storage wars is a good example of it. Sophisticated commercial to sell the junk that someone left behind, and get you to clean the unit out for them, it's actually pretty brilliant.

Drinking too much and doing drugs is a choice, nobody twisted his arm nor held a gun to his head. I lived with both of those types of creatures from chilhood until I was 48 yrs old. I have zero tolerance for those two poor choices, tired of giving them excuses.
I so completely agree with you but from a totally different perspective. I was the one who made terrible choices with drugs and alcohol. All that is behind me now but know this, you are right, people make excuses for addicts and they even label it a "sickness". It's not a sickness. I decided to make awful choices. That was and is on me. Personally, I don't believe in "AA". I don't consider myself a permanent addict or alcoholic. Instead, I decided to permanently make responsible decisions. It's not an illness, it's a choice.

I know what it’s like to be on that end (mind u not so in the lime light) but I know how sad it is and how devastating and maddening and betraying the news of his choice to move on like that and the class and dignity and love u continue to show says so much about u! I’m sorry for ur fight and I lost my ex so I get that u just wish he was a better version of himself so u can be mad because now u just feel sorry for him. Just wanted to say u handled that interview with such class and u kept it about u and the addiction and didn’t use ur healing to cause pain and detriment to others cause this was ur story!
