The fact that Belos is one of Disney's only villains with an attempted genocide under his belt is pretty impressive

The reason for the Philip is Belos reveal in episode 16 is for Luz, not the viewers. It was so she can find out that she accidentally aided Belos in the past which lead to him getting the Collector. We already knew who Belos actually was, but she didn’t. So that was the point of that scene in the episode.

When belos says “save humanity from evil” I think it’s cuz he’s British and from the 1600s so he’s probably an old school Christian and sees witchcraft as evil

Philip/Belos was from colonial Connecticut in the mid 1600s. Around that time, Connecticut went full crazy Puritan with everyone wanting to root out and k1ll witches, often involving witch trials (which ended up inspiring a town in Massachusetts called Salem to hold their own much more infamous witch trials). You can probably piece together the rest and to figure out Philip/Belos's ultimate goal

Now for episode 17, yes, that is most likely King's father, and there is something dark about the Titan Trappers, since you can see how big a Titan can get, their costumes are most likely made from Titan children.

Best fact: Dana Terrace, the creator, voiced Severine. She also is the voice for Tinella Nosa. The nose girl who you see all the time. I love her characters are always ones that are either talking about mental health or wanting to cause a riot to sieze the means. Iconic.

The "Put him out of his misery" thing is probably my favorite joke of the series.

Just to clear some stuff up; the collector was teased in the ep when Lilith and Luz went through those time portals and met Phillip. Grimwalkers are basically clones made from palistrom wood and other things like bones (meaning the person hunter is a clone of is unfortunately dead), so hunter is essentially a clone of Phillips (belos’) older brother, also Phillip and his brother were both witch hunters (from the 1600s). If u look back at episode 16 while they are in belos’ mind, the paintings in the background tell the story of how Phillips brother died and it clears up so much and gives u A LOT of info so I really suggest going back to get the full story, it’s definitely not hard to understand even if they are only just paintings but it’s easy to piece everything together !!

Just think: Hooty eating that letter a month earlier might have accidentally saved King's life from the Titan Trappers (or, if he still managed to escape, then from the Emperor's Coven's attack on the Owl House, since he'd have made it back to the Boiling Isles by then).

in episodes we've heard on and on that Gus moved up grades because of being high in his smarts and being a prodigy, and as you would of thought that much pressure in a preteen is too heavy for him to handle so glad my man Gus had a episode to himself

Yeah. Luz caused Philip to meet The Collector and become Emperor Belos by going back in time. Which means if she never went back in time, Belos wouldn't have all the power he has now. But here's the thing. When Luz came to the Demon Realm, Belos had already been Emperor for 50 years... Meaning the effect happened before the cause. Belos had already been effected by Luz's actions before she ever went back in time to do them, and before she came to this world, and before she was even born. This means those events were already predetermined, and Luz was destined to go back in time to make this happen. If she never went back in time, or if she died before her and Lilith found the time portals, it would have created a paradox. But a lot of what Luz did was also a reaction to Belos, meaning even those actions were predetermined. This means every action, every word, and every decision made by every character, is already destined to happen before they say/do/think them. I don't think the writers meant to make it this way, but they basically wrote free will out of the show. Most people don't think about it this deeply though. But if you actually do think about it, it's objectively undeniable and was proven within the show itself.

28:23 so about this topic here: Yes, King's dad is the Boiling isles, as it was stated earlier in the episode that the last Titan is "the lost son of the Boiling Isles" which we now know is king. As for where magic comes from, it depends on how it's casted. Witches and Bipedal demons evolved to have Bile sacs which generate magic, so while living on the Titan caused this evolution, they don't get their powers directly from the Titan. Palismen can also generate magic though I'm unsure how their magic works exactly (could be that palistrum wood pulls some of the titan's magic somehow), and finally, Glyph magic pulls directly from the Titan itself, or rather "commands" it using the symbols as words. This is why in Season 1 when Luz and Lilith fought, Luz's Fire glyph didn't work while Lilith was able to cast just fine.

One thing I never really considered was that Eda needed to use both fingers probably to bring both Luz and Hunter both home. One finger per person to bring them back but that's probably me justifying a writing choice to close out the glove
