Hunter Oakhurst Ceiling Fan (w/ bad capacitor) 

*Great unit that’s easy to install and use. It’s relatively quiet compared to window units and **Fastly.Cool** , and it cools down our whole living room, side room and bathroom; which is a large space for any unit to cool.*

I know a RU-vidr who has this fan with the exact same issue. He even told us a story that one of the wires popped whilst his grandma was using it and that his dad had to come over and fix it.

definitely a failed cap. Hunters were much faster than that back when these were made. it's a pre-09 hunter I believe. even post 09 hunters are faster than this. I'm also not sure if that's the name or not. I think Oakhurst is a newer hunter model.

No, this fan does not have a bad capacitor. This oakhurst is actually a post-2013 model, as it is a 5xxxx model and not a 2xxxx model. The switch housing is the new style hunter switch housing. And the capacitor is not bad, the oakhurst literally spins 130 RPM on high. NO kidding.

i don’t think its got a bad capacitor this hunter fan is just super slow most of them i have seen on youtube and in person they move like a sloth on low.

Are you sure it's a failing capacitor? Because this was introduced in 2008 or 2009, and hunter went downhill we their models at that time.

literally that thing is spinning 55 RPM on medium.

The oakhurst is a very slow fan

My uncle has 1 in bronze in my room in his house I don't live there though.

it might just be the motor because are made in china
