I don't own a horse and have never rode one but I'm totally obsessed with them and this looks so much fun but I'm too poor and my family is not too big with animals as I am.
this was what my reality was my entire life, but now as a 17 year old I own my horse. Don't give up hope, you never know how it'll line up. In my case, a family friend had to get rid of her horse in an emergency and I was able to step up and take him free of cost. If a year ago you would have told me that I had a horse I wouldnt have believed it for a second, but alas.
Don't give up! My family hates animals, and are by no means wealthy, but we got a horse when I was 16 and we made do! (Tho I only had it for one year because my health declined and I couldn't ride anymore, it was worth it)
I love this video! The warnings you give to the others behind you displays true sportsmanship! And for some reason I really like that soft and gentle rocking in the background. I don’t know what it is but it’s nice. Because it doesn’t sound like hoofbeats.
those jumps looked like they're such a comfortable hight! And you took it easy and slow! I loved that. If I would ever dare to do hunter then like you guys
I don't have an ex race horse. At all. But she has the QH racing bloodlines. I just half halt like crazy. She's sweet and loveable, but she loves to run. Lots of practice.
Been 5 MONTHS! hope your mount has improved? In a lot of videos (not this one I notice a braking issue - normally I'd change my bit and circle my horse round to connect with its brain again - just remember to hold their head up and steady round no jerking (and for what its worth after working on a hunting/showjumping yard - they had no dressage skills😧) Get some to supple your horse to balance it. - on Outing mornings - get up early and lunge and ride your horse into a lather if its a hot horse - hose and dry ready to go to take the sting out) be safe. I used to grind a hot pony into the ground before i put my child on him 😂 ohh he behaved like a dream - a hot horse is dangerous these videos bring back exhilarating memories may God keep all you wonderful riders safe.
Silver Wolf Sometimes a horse just has an off day. Horses have emotions and such just as we do. If the horse doesn't want to work then they won't work as hard as they usually do. It's not that this horse is a bad horse. That horse maybe just have wanted to test their rider. It's normal. But hey, maybe you didn't know that so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here. But, don't go saying that horse is a bad horse because he "barely went over the jumps" that's just poor judgement of the horse. Did you sit on his back and ride that track? No. So please, think logically before you go and judge a horse based on one video. :)
Just found your video loved your spirt through it and how you were having so much fun with your friends. I do show jumping about 1.40m and I wish I had as much fun doing it as you do. Just being out there with your friends it was really a fun video to watch and oh the best part were your little comments to your horse eli it was really fun to watch.
Thank you! I used to show jump a lot but both my horse and I got bored of it. We got into hunter paces and fox hunting about 7 years ago and have never looked back at the ring!!
What a good horse. I love your relationship with him. You can tell you two have worked really hard together and he trusts you even on those few he took a second look at, as soon as you encouraged him he was like "okay I guess I'm fine, here we go!". This made me smile the entire time. :D
my neighbour (cousin) had 2 horses roope and sami (finnish names) we used to go riding in the woods which was my fav thing to do... But they had to give away the horses and i found out a year later that the old horse roope had died... he was the best horse i ever knew, i miss them so much
I was injured badly beyond being able to ride again. The lead riders voice was really positive and fun, and for a moment I could daydream I was riding along too....smelling all the smells, having a great horse to ride. Bless you guys and continue to succeed. Thanks for the ride !! ❤️
I used to do endurance and cross country, 4 years ago I had to sell my horse and stop riding, sometimes when I get sad I watch your videos beacause they really remind of my team. I can feel the rush just before the jump and the sort of blurry vision you get when at top speed and that really makes me melancholic. Thank you so much for your videos, keep up the good job and have fun
Erin Gallagher good luck with it hun, I’ve been riding since early April this years and it may seem easy to give up at times but no matter what I never do, I encourage everyone to ride horses as it teaches you pain and heartbreak but also make you proud and grateful.
@@orlaithjames6370 I disagree. Sure, riding isn't for everyone, but I've been riding for the majority of my life. To put it in perspective, I started when I was 7. It could've been so easy to just give up when it got hard, but here I am.
@Sofija Radonjic were i am stabling my horse it is only 3000 pounds a year (I'm British) but In a lot of other places it can be up to about 5500 pounds for grazing, stabling and feed and where I am there is a great cross country course with lots of lovely places to hack so for me the money is totally worth it
I like this course a lot. It feels like something I could do with my horse. I don’t like the courses where everyone has to jump the same height a lot because some people aren’t at the same level as others, I really like the options on most of the jumps.
Wow that looked like a blast! I love how u kept in touch with the other riders and kept talking to your horse. I want to start riding more, but I keep thinking about the bad things that have happened to people but watching videos like this makes me feel more confident. Thank and loved the video!
I do have two horses and they aren't jumpers and I don't do much jumping but after watching this I have got more stronger thank you for giving me the confidence to do jumping btw love this vid and how you always make sure your friends are alright and love the team work
LOL! It felt like when I was in summer camp and learning the pole pattern! I actually started using it with younger horses to teach them better bending skills
I wish I could do this with some of my friends, y’all make it seem like so much fun, I also love the fact that y’all check on each other. Hope y’all had fun!
i used to ride and am starting to get back into it... and i think that now, after watching this video, i might want to be a hunter. It look like SOOOOO much fun
LOL. That actually came from years of showing in the hunter ring. He LOVES to jump and if you tried to slow him down he would play tug of war with the reins. I learned that if you dropped the reins and told him he won then he knew it was the end of a course so he would stop. Thankfully it translated to hunter paces when we moved out of the show ring! He's a cool ass horse and I'm sad he's too old to jump now. He's now happily retired :)
Really considerate of you to let it keep it's own pace and keep talking to it and the others. You are the reason I keep my faith in horse riding :) Keep it up and God bless you 😉
These are super interesting to watch because all I do is trail ride and I ride western so this is really neat! I enjoy watching this and I love how you talk to your horse and the other riders and check in with them! You are a very good rider.
This was so thrilling to watch, i really wanna do this some day. I love how you all talked to each other and waited for each other. Ahh my heart is racing just watching I wanna do this so bad.
I miss this riding. I had to stop because I couldn't afford it, but my friends I learned and rode with have continued onward. One even was in a Rolex show! We used to communicate like this. I also rode a palomino that was an ex polo pony on a XC course. His name was Levi, he passed away last year. Gosh I miss it so much.
I so agree with last comment or. I absolutely love nature/natural sounds! 🤗. Gosh if I was 20 years younger I so would do this crud country rides. (I'm old and only meander now with my horses!) But can live vicariously through you 😉
