Honestly coming from a Firefighter Family. I would get with a volunteer department to keep up your certifications since you have worked so hard to get it. ❤
He may have left a job. But he also created one for someone else. That being said, live your dream. If you two can spend more time together and it’s healthy and you can build something together. Go for it. You’re both obviously great people. Wish y’all the best.
As a former volunteer firefighter and EMT, I let everything go and now I have to go back and get my EMT. I would definitely keep up my certifications as a backup plan. I am happy for you both. Congratulations.
I was a full time firefighter and EMT-B, I left after having my kids and became a structural engineer. I have still kept my certifications up to date as my plan B. It’s always good to have a plan B when you have babies to care for. Happy for y’all!

I don't really think you have a grasp on how much money content creators make. Even on a smaller scale that's just on a single platform like youtube. But they have a medium-large following on multiple. Brand deals, ad revenue, they'll be fine. They'll easily make more this year than they would have had he spent the next 10-15 years at the fire department.
I hear what you’re saying, but you don’t realize the money you can make on RU-vid they’re probably gonna make so much more now for their retirement and some . If you have a big enough following, you can make millions on RU-vid easily. Hell if I could do it, I would. I’m a watcher though, not a filmer.
Career Firefighter is many people’s dream job A lot of guys on FDNY will tell you its the best job in the world. Good pay , a lot of time off & great benefits
I would never quit that job like here in NYC work 2 24 hour shifts a week work 20 years & get paid for the rest of your life in retirement. Thats like winning lotto

As a retired firefighter of 33 years I still miss it. I had to retire early was hurt on the job. So you are very lucky I missed out on so many things with my two sons because of the classes and training and stuff. Those times I wished I could have been there. Now my boys are in there 30s I look back at some of the things I missed I now do with my grandson so yea live for Devin and that beautiful little girl you have. And as an old firefighter/paramedic and type ll diabetic I can relate to both of you guys spend time together and love ya both.

This is the SAME thing my fiancé is going through right now! He has a job now with fantastic benefits and retirement but he has prayed and prayed and feels extremely at peace knowing he needs to leave. His passion was lost and he was starting to fall into depression, right when this happens there is an opportunity doing something he LOVES and he’s able to jump right into it and get mentored by a close friend of ours. Knowing where god calls you is so peaceful and a blessing. I know how this feels for him, so I’m so excited for you guys. Amen! Enjoy your lives because life is too short. I think that is a good idea keeping somethings current. Not because of another endeavor may fail, but your skillset might be useful if there is a catastrophe or disaster recovery is needed. You will be needed.

Hi! I know this is a late response, but just know the Lord has me at a similar transition! I have been in Kentucky at school and it blessed my soul because I got saved 3 years ago at school! Since then, I have just wanted to give my all for the Lord! This last semester, I was just burned out and exhausted because I worked a lot and I was stuck with not knowing what was next, but I surrendered my control and God opened doors for an amazing internship in Cleveland Ohio working with those who are homeless and sharing the love of Jesus with them. I praise Him for it! People think I am crazy because I could have stayed in KY my last semester but I just had such great confirmation from God! He is so good! Can't wait to see what The Lord does in both our lives and I can't wait to see who all is reached! Love yall!

My daughter asked me, what lesson have you learned, in my 54yrs on this earth. This is what I said. "People are always in the pursuit of Happiness, happiness is a feeling. Feelings don't last, feelings go as quick as they come, sadness is a feeling also, sadness comes and goes. What we all should be in search of is Contentment, and so when happiness comes we can enjoy it and live in the happiness. Same goes for sadness, when it comes, we can deal with it a wee bit better. I know some people who are volunteers firefighters in Alabama they love it , then when you miss it you will have opportunities to help out and that’s a blessing
You should definitely keep your stuff current.You’ve put so much of yourself into that achievement and it’s always good to have a fallback. I see many creators that quit and are now suffering due to social media presence and pressure and feel like they are stuck. God bless y’all!

Wouldn't let the certifications and learning go completely, and being with family as much as possible is probably best anyone can live for. So happy for y'all and truly wish you amazing blessings. This video actually made me sad. Your job put you in the path of many people that needed you. Not everyone who does that job might pray over the people they are helping. Ministering to the spirit is just as important as the help you gave.

My husband is in full time ministry & I have loved getting to be a part of it as his wife for the last 8 years, but on Monday I am beginning the course of study to also be ordained in our denomination! I’m so grateful that I have been able to stay home with our three children, but I know that call to something higher all too well. Glory to God for the work you are doing & the glory you bring Him!
