Hunter Stonington 46" ceiling fan in new bronze. This is another fan that I found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2024, complete aside from the mounting bracket and the downrod/ball that I added because guess what? Per usual with 90% of Hunters I find, it came flush mounted. Unfortunately they'd taped the blades together, so this side is the only presentable finish, but it's probably what I would've chosen to show anyway. Within the scope of Hunter's early 2010s dark ages, this was one of the few models I kind of liked. It's got cool proportions, a pretty classic look, and is small enough in span that it had some fair power behind it. Speed selection was a bit of a miss for medium, but I'll take the nice low. Overall pretty quiet runner, with a decent high speed and matching performance. All I can say is thank goodness we've moved beyond the design period of bronze and tea stained glass being the epitome of luxury styling. It's weird that I don't like bronze since most of them are essentially just brown, but I didn't like it in the period and I still don't really prefer it now. Any time I pick up something bronze, it just feels so dated and drab. Not to mention how fragile most bronze finishes are! Scratch city, no thanks. Not holding that against this fan since I like the model, just had to rant for a minute. 😛
