@@younous34 Ironically I don't remember that line even though that was one of the most iconic scenes in the entire HxH series in my opinion, thanks for the reference anyway.
I love this theme so much. Although I love the 2011 soundtrack, I think this theme fits Kurapika much more. Kusari Yarou illustrates Kurapika's anger and rage --- it goes well for fighting and when he's angry; but this theme illustrates exactly the feeling that Kurapika felt after killing Uvogin --- there is no fulfilment in murder. It has that wonderful sense of loneliness, but a softness that captures Kurapkia's appreciation of his friends and belief in justice.
Kusari no yarou is actually Kurapika’s second theme in the new version, his main theme is Hiiro no hitomi I believe which illustrates his sorrow and nostalgia really well in my opinion, in a similar way to konpaku no elegie
I love both of kurapika’s themes as well! I feel that the 2011 represent the “cool side” of him, while this one represents the “angered” him (or like, his emotions deep down? Not sure how to explain). My explanation is bad but I tried my best lol. Anyways, both are amazing.
"I promise I'll catch the Phantom Troupe with my own Hands. I will reclaim all the eyes that they were stolen from my clan people. So for now...Please rest in peace." - kurapika
Kurapika is indeed the best character in Hunter X Hunter in my opinion. His backstory, personality, character development, characterization, morals everything is perfect. He is the most well written character in the show in my opinion. Along with my other favorites Meruem, Chrollo, Hisoka, Killua, Netero, Zeno, Leorio, Feitan, Gon.
I can tell that there is gonna be a very dark, grim, cold, and heart wrenching path that lies ahead of kurapika’s journey. He might not have a happy ending.
@@dex6872 yup, togashi has said that kurapika and the phantom troupe will all die in an interview and people took it as a joke. But i can see it happening in alot of ways. How im guessing kurapika is gonna die is probably by tserriednich, i think tserriednich is too strong and is far stronger than any villain we have ever seen (not stronger than meruem yet but will surpass him) also i think hisoka will kill all of the phantom troupe while kurapika will also kill a few of them and have hisoka will have a rematch with chrollo and then eventually also kill him. But this is all theories because this is the pretty obvious route and togashi could shock us. This show is just so good and i can keep blabbing about but thats enough lol
@@byrite8112 Dude it's literally the event just after the anime, Gon goes to school after he comes back home from the hospital and Killua starts a journey with his brother Alluka, it's like saying "Gon is the protagonist", it's not a spoiler.
kurapika's a badass in both the 1999 and 2011 version but i honestly like the 1999 version a little more. but seriously it's so hard to decide once you've seen both versions
Kurapika did what Sasuke couldn't, he put his friends above his desire for vengeance. He never let his quest for vengeance destroy his connections with people. He was able to pursue both vengeance and friendship.
I love the 1999 soundtracks and visuals. Such a shame it got cancelled. 2011 is great, but it doesn’t give the same vibe. Especially in the York New arc.
Konpaku no elegy means his everlasting sadness and loneliness. Kusari yarou means his immense rage when he's fighting for revenge. I personally prefer konpaku
I'm pretty sure I've already written a comment in this video, but I didn't find anything so I'll write a new one. This OST brings all nostalgic feelings. I love it, and I feel like watching the 1999 version right now!
tbh,I like the 2011 anime more but kurapicas design in the 1999 anime was much better especially this soundtrack is doing such a good job at reflecting kurapikas awkward position and his feelings
I didn't catch a few words "My path, illuminated by the moon and stars. I honor my ancestors for bringing me to this place and defend my brethren with my dying breath. I will step forward to carry the burden of their sorrows, and humbly share in their joy. On my word, indeed their name will live on. For my scarlet eyes and my… are one with theirs. Take up the mantle and accept any wrongdoing... To preserve the Kurta people forever. On the scarlet eyes, I swear this."
I didn't understand what the relationship between them so that they were adversaries, but both went through a similar past because Sasuke's personality is mainly quoted from Kurabica, and this is a statement from the line to the red eyes that was quoted from Kurabika… I expect these things enough to clarify how successful and integrated Kurapika is.
@@user-dy2wp8lc6c 1999 filler enhanced the story on a number of occasions. 2011 didn't flesh out the characters nearly as much. The difference in quality between the two versions of the Yorknew arc is astounding. What was deep, nuanced, and heartfelt in 1999 was edgy, cringe, and one dimensional in 2011. Goes to show how important directors are.
@@sprawlz6466 when was 2011 edgy, cringe, and one-dimensional? I do agree that 1999 has better direction in certain areas, but that seems like hyperbole to me
Man this bring so much feels, remembering how i was waiting the anime to aired after school though my mom told me not to watch anime much ( and i have to make an agreement with my mom to helped her cook to watch this anime lol ). My biggest disappointment with the 2011 was how... shallow kurapika character is. Kurapika is my favorite character in HxH, a composed smart character who become 180 different when it come to Ryodan. The 2011 ver look somehow... composed when he met Ryodan, i found it strange beacuse even the word spider will make him hot blooded. What makes Kurapika to what he become now was his hatred and ambition to take revenge to the spider, which i think the 2011 ver lacking. And is it only me who hate his 2011 ver scarlet eyes :O ? This music really bring the feeling of Kurapika lonely journey, which full of sadness T^T
I don't know about all that, but Kurapika's Scarlet Eyes look bad in the 2011 version. In the manga and 1999, his Scarlet Eyes look like a horror movie scene!
I grow up watching the old version i loved it everything about was awesome i was genuinely scared by it all the characters were great and creepy unique truly the old version was the best in my opinion
I can feel Kurapika's pain and grief with this theme his tragedy was so painful I hope that iN an upcoming comeback he will finally get the justice and happiness he deserves
+Izmar XLord impossible....i do prefer the 80's and 90's animation....a good example of abomination is Hokuto no Ken...the old ones styles are great all ....but the new ovas are horribles!! It's like before the efforts to draw with details were greater...i'm no expert i don't know how to explain it...the other thing that dislike me are the bright of the skins (like oily skin)
+Izmar XLord OF COURSE NOT, I haven't even watched 2011 series it SUCKS, they seem YOUNGER and the graphic is bad and the most important thing is the OST, the 2011 OST is BAD and can't be compared to this one. I think this one has one of the best OSTS in the anime world.
I actually envision this soundtrack also in the flash back of the phantom troupe especially in chps 395 and 396, Togashi still delivering some of the best character driven stories even now
