Yo! Jaster-Sama here, or MrJaster, to watch the entire 2011 Hunter x Hunter series! This episode is literally the best episode I've seen so far for sure! NO LINK! NO LIMITS! LET'S DO THIS!
Hey Jaster, thanks for the reaction! I still believe you should change your thumbnail, it's spoiling pretty much what happens and some reactors out there didn't reach 131 yet!
Jaster -Sama man the years are coming at the end of this arc. it's one of the best endings to an arc ever. And jastor. The manga has even more epicness. catch up and review after you're done
+Sam I'AM Hunter x Hunter's (2011) anime is one of the best anime ever made, but the manga isn't very good. The art is really mediocre and the narration, characters and story pop up a lot more in the anime.
@@MultiAnime4U his last words as the last bear was the son of the first bear he killed, ripped his arm off..." its okay... i get to be like gon now...sayonara, killua"
A character, who fight to protect someone and a character, who fight to revenge. The first is the "villian" and the second is the "protagonist". That's Hunter x Hunter.
Paddy Tanniger The Caddy Manager damn you are right lol, that guy's death and many of the others that were killed by the phantom troupe didn't really affect me ( exept zazan and pike a little bit) ... there were some more though, like the centaur that was killed by kite; still, the great mayority had a touching death that somewhat made you feel bad for them
Finally someone who actually gets this episode. RU-vid is filled with half ass reactions of people who have zero context of the greatness this episode. It was really 10/10
You're right, gon exchange all his nen capability to ''enhance'' his growth as a nen user. ''I don't care if this is the end'', the condition is his life.
You know, i'm actually 22 years old and i watched HxH since 2003, back when the 1999 version passed on TV. I looked the end at that time, when Gon and Killua goes to Gin. We really thought it was Gin at that time. It felt like the end, and not showing him was great. Way after, i saw that 2011 version came out and i immediatly watched it. New infos: Gin was not meet by Gon and Killua. That was Kaito. And then comes the chimera ant's arc. Some says that the narrator destroys the show because he speaks too much. But HxH is not a shonen of battle. It's a shonen about informations, about strategy, about emotions, and thought. Gon is a character maybe a little numb because he's young, but Togashi made him someone that you want to know. Someone you respect, someone for who you have more than empathy. Seeing him like that in episode 116, 130 and 131 is more than the best episodes for many shows that i know, it's the life act of Togashi for Gon. A boy, aged of 13, that is ready to give up on life just to let out all his anger not about Pitou, but about himself, about his lies to Killua when he thought Kito (Kaito) was alive. When he thought that he was strong enough to protect his friends. This manga, this anime, was and will remain by favorite anime of all time. I know this show for so long, it brought emotions for so long, brought tears for so long, and i'm incredibly happy to see people begenning this show, arrive to that point, and coming to the same conclusion. Togashi is really a true genious. He created a masterpiece that changed my life in a way. Jaster-Sama, I don't know you for a long time. Maye some months, not more. I'm very glad to see your reactions about anime, but especially this one and to see that you love this anime and all it offers to us. And i'm glad to see that you take time to speak with us, to laugh with us and even cry with us. Keep it up man, you're a great man watching a great show. Sorry for this very long post, but i just wanted to speak about that.
The best thing in this is that everyone understand that Gon is making some crap and we want him to stop, we want to give him a chance. HxH is just so good because it's really human, with a character that really wanted to be good but was corrupted because of how the world is. But Gon is still someone good, who's just too sad to accept his friend death and the fact that he can't save every of them, even with his best efforts.
that was Gon resolve, for that power he planned to exchange with his life. Kite said some things that Gon literally do, "don't relax- crush the head", "don't sympathize", "strong resolve to defeat a stronger opponent"(not exact word to word but similar). Even in the end it was just Kite he was thinking about, happy he got his arm cut off because he could be the same as Kite and crushing Pitou head later state "kite- I did what you taught me" There is 1 more arc after this Chimera Ant Arc, then the anime stop there. The arc is short, its not as long as Chimera Ant Arc. Hunter x Hunter does go to a lot of hiatuses, it usually last about 1 year and come back with few chapters, lately its been 10ish chapters per year. But right now its came back again! Togashi is in better mood and the leading character in the manga at the moment is Kurapika, its like Yorknew when he was the leading main character. Its only the beginning of the arc and it isn't far from where the anime left off. It goes like this: Chimera Ant->Election Arc->Succession/Black Whale (current arc in the manga). They might animate the Succession Arc once it finishes in a few years, it could be 1 season anime or They wait for several arcs to finish in the manga but that'll be animated in 2030+ lol
I wonder what would have happened if instead of kite, killua died, the person he probably cares for more than anyone imo. even if it was the king that killed him, instead of sacrificing nen, he probably would have sacrificed his life to attain even greater power
Just a little correction, this episode had a mistranslation, Pitou didn't say that Gon's power are equal to the king, what she actually said was "Gon's fangs can now reach the king". She meant that Gon could now become a trouble and/or put up a fight with the king, just like Netero and some other few characters in the show. I doubt anyone in this show is equal to the king when it comes to power though
Actually, she really said Gon's power is equal that of the King. In the manga there are 2 readings for what Pitou said (manga volume 29 page 107), those are: やはりゴンの能力は王にも届き得た!!(translated freely: As I thought, Gon's power reached that of the King!!) やはりこいつの牙は王にも届き得た!! (translated freely: As I thought, this guy's fangs could reach the King!!) But even though she said that, I don't think that's right. Since Gon's power is suicidal and he can't use it for long till he dies.
I have an addiction watching people's reactions to this scene, it's my favorite moment in anything and your reaction was my favorite because it felt genuine and as invested as I and so many others were. What a masterpiece this anime is.
Found this by accident off of another reactors video and you sir have just earned a sub, one of the most genuine and real reactions I've ever seen and exactly how I felt watching that myself the first time. Keep doing what you're doing man and I'll be watching from now on!
Hunter x Hunter episode 131 is my #1 HxH episode & is one of my all time favorite anime episodes EVER. Loved everything about this episode. Everyone has their own #1 HxH episode but for me? THIS, is the best episode IMO.
My favourite anime episode is from seven deadly sins where meliodas has to accepts his feelings towards liz and her death to get his power back because it speaks to me on a personal level
I just love remember seeing Jaster's face in the beginning of this series. Had no idea what the fuck was going on, but tried to still push it out for us. Then the forest part happened with Hisoka, and i knew right then Jaster started liking the series a lot more. What a journey. Now we're on 131, 1 account later. :P
I've watched so many people react to this episode of HxH that I've lost count, but yours is hands down the most memorable one. I'm re-watching your HxH reactions ~ 2 years later and still find myself getting emotional alongside you.
Finally, a reaction where the person doesn't just react to the cool punches and transformations, but instead they see the deeper meaning of friendship that HxH is showing.
pretty much the only true reaction ive seen in this episode, usually its some people with unrealistic expectations or that have 0 idea what they are experiencing and throw all the defense mechanisms at once spoiling the genuine reaction they are supposed to have. Thanks for the great vid.
GOsh I don't know how long I've been waiting for you to get to this episode but as expected, you were completely sucked in. Absolutely loved your reaction. I feel the same awe and sadness everytime I'm watching it. CAn't wait to see your reactions to the latter episodes.
you got my respect man , i've seen so many reactions channels however you are the only one who i can call a true reactor , you dont blindely react and you actually know about the anime like for example when you said that HxH dont do bullshit powerups . i am looking forward to see more of your reactions, good job and keep up the good work , you got a subscriber
i have literally been waiting for this since your very first couple reactions to this show went up and it did not disappoint. this episode is fucking legendary, this reaction is perfect
Am I the only one who, when I first saw Gon's aura being black/reddish again like in ep.116, was actually SCARED for him (and a bit for Pitou) and not HYPED at all...? I'm not blaming people who felt that way don't get me wrong, I just wanna know if I was the only one not being "HELL YEAH!" at that moment... Because it's obvious he shouldn't be able to come up with dark aura all of a sudden and there was a price to pay for that. The show never did that, as you said, asspull powerup.
Benn Limos Same for me, was overwhelmed so didn't think of an explanation on the spot, just thought it looked dangerous and horribly wrong. Pitou confirmed my suspicions and fears.
Nasty Kaito In other anime shows, like Dragon Ball for example, seeing a transformation for the first time is usually a hell yeah moment but here? Damn man, I felt the same way as you. I knew Gon had to pay some kind of price when I first saw him in that adult form & when Pitou explained everything after getting wrecked I was like: "Fuck man. Sigh, she ain't worth it man. You should of just let Killua helped you out instead of going to this extreme."
@@King26J People say Pitou "wasn't worth it" but she was a threat to all of humanity really, no human besides Gon in that moment could have taken her. Besides Netero.
K I know this episode is kinda old by now and someone probably already brought this up but Pitou never actually said his power was equal to the king's, it was a translation error. What Pitou actually says translates to "his fangs could reach the king's throat" basically
After the fight between Gon and the Centipede, Kite teaches to gon to always aim for the head, that's why Gon said after destroying his head that he killed.
The scene where Gon cried at the end felt like I could tell everything that was closed in my heart so far. 毎週ハンターハンター放送されたらiPhoneで欠かさず観てたけど、このシーンは本当に悲しかったな〜。初めてアニメで泣きそうになった。
When it comes to his vow it was partially him giving up his life but more specifically everything important to him. He didn't actually give up his life because to him his life wasn't important at that moment he just gave up everything he is and aspires to be and achieve. He doesn't give up his life and I think that made the vow stronger actually. Dying is easy and he gave up more than that. He didn't choose to just die then and there he chose to give up his nen, his talent, his ability to go out and find his father and meet him on equal grounds or be the hunter he wanted to be and thought his father would respect and desire him to be. He chose to give up his ability to be able to help and support his friends in the future along with ANY self-reliance and independence. He chose a fate that was worse than death to him: to live on unable to even move from a hospital bed much less use Nen and forever know the torment of utter and complete despair and hopelessness until he dies of old age or he is removed from life support...which is a decision he can't even voice. He gave up his grand aspiration for a life of freedom and adventure and making his father proud and instead became a burden with no ability to achieve the things he had held true to in his own naive way his whole young life. He gave up a future of happiness and fulfillment and said with 100% conviction that I will trade all of my happiness for a moment of revenge. Honestly, even if this isn't 100% true to the author's intentions its why I adore this series and the power system set up. The sacrifice you gain for power is both based on how creative you are with your conditions and vows and ALSO how much you mean it personally. You could say you're the bodyguard of X(Meruem for example) and that you can NEVER use Nen as long as you're alive as the condition of activating your nen ability. And depending on how strongly you meant it as well as how restrictive the vow is you might end up with a horrific monster when your nen is used. Its an amazing way to add character depth and development that is directly tied to fighting ability. Gon didn't just go super saiyan he went super saiyan with the limitation of it only being ONCE and then all his power is gone and he is left virtually comatose to get a 50x power boost for a single fight. WAY more impactful then almost any power up.
Man, I understand WHY you can't just do it, but I really wish you could upload like 3 episodes every day so you could appear on Anime Lover's reaction compilations. Seeing you there really brings a smile to my face. But hey, I'm glad (s?)he at least waited for your reaction to episode 131.
This reaction alone just got you a sub. So real and I fully felt everything you did when I first ever watched this them many years ago! Good man, will now be binge watching all your videos. Keep it up man!👍
Gon unconsciously used his nen to become strong enough to mercilessly kill pitou, unfortunately , correct me if I’m wrong but after this he’s unable to use nen and has lost many years of his life span by doing this
