Not going to lie, I've constantly underestimated the little F'ers. I constantly focus on the big dudes until it's too late, and then I have to switch to close range fly swatting. They are incredibly dangerous and underestimated. I daresay more dangerous than even the Stalker because they can SWARM you. This video captures this SO well

Don't forget that they lunge in nearly undodge-able fashion and two-shot you with a combo swing they do not need to have.

We've come full circle back to where it all started.

The Heroes from StarCrafts just respawned to Helldivers!!! The Legends are back for more action!

There are two main threats when fighting bugs: Chargers and Hunters. Hunters are just as dangerous as chargers, but for different reasons. Chargers easily break entrenchments, scattering the group to make it harder for the team to effectively do battle. This is the 'beginning of the end' in most wipes, and it's safe to say that once a group of chargers enter the field, whatever you thought you were doing is no longer the case. But Chargers are ultimately a red herring. They are a catastrophe for your strategy, soak up everyone's ordinance, and will waste your time. But they aren't a proper threat to individual divers that have game sense and know how to move well. Hunters, on the other hand, are the things that actually kill you after Chargers have ruined everything else. In an 'ideal' scenario, no amount of Hunters can get close to a bunkered group of divers. But once you're all scattered to the wind, no amount of movement and game sense will save you; they can EASILY pick you off. Protip: when a fight breaks out, kill the HUNTERS first. You might think you can weather the swarm, but 9 times out of 10 you're getting pushed out by charger/titan spam, which means you will end up kiting. Hunters are peak during this phase of a battle. They're the only bugs that can consistently outmaneuver a sprinting diver in the largest variety of terrain. Everything else can be outrun (most bugs), outmaneuvered (Commanders, Chargers, and Titans), or easily lost around obstacles (Chargers and Titans). Hunters can navigate ALL of this and - true to the name - hunt you down. Chargers will fuck over your intentions and send everyone running. But Hunters are what's going to take you out in the end. If there aren't any Hunters, theoretically you should never die because you can just kite the swarm forever.

Hunters are easily my favorite enemy in the game, because they show how well designed the enemies in this game are. It's truly something to appreciate imo. An enemy thats tried to flank! yes please!

You can spin around and shoot the hunters without right-click aiming at them to catch them by surprise. >:3 Of course, that's for later when the newbness has turned into terrifying experience.

It's missing a time when a stratagem beacon lands on a hunter, and it jumps at helldivers with it stuck to it's body. Or when they jump high enough that even jetpack isn't a viable escape.

Hunters are the most fun to shoot, especially when they are jumping at you. I have less issues with hunters than most other bugs, unless I jump and don't realize that I'll be surrounded after said jump...

Picking up a rotten weapon only to be immediately disgusted and need to throw it away is so accurate. So many times I'm running over a pile of gear trying to grab samples or a desperately needed expendable, only to emerge with a liberator concussive.

The fact we're getting a new lease on the vibe and characters from starcrafts is mindbogglingly awesome. It's so fun to see Marine-esque antics again.

Had a mission that start pretty much exactly like this. We dropped next to a point of interest, and immediately the bots saw us and started calling in dropships. We stood our ground and started calling in our weapons and support. I think we ended up using pretty much all our stratagems (I fired two full boxes of my stalwart, and ended up using using a supply pack charge). After it was done someone typed in chat “All this for one POI?”

You forgot the part where your teammates load a bunch of Smoke and Static shells when theres mini nukes on the ground

Fun fact: using a flamethrower against hunters makes them even more dangerous: they can now set you on fire

my main issue with Hunters is the absurd amount that spawn, get into your blind spot and then tongue and both stagger and slow you! Oh and good luck diving out of the punch when you are surrounded by 10-15+
