The feature comes from a mixture of almost flutter tongue and as if you were to gloss and play the scale without breaking the note. That's the only way I can explain it

The sound you like is a rotary speaker (simulator) Works with any electric guitar. There's a reasonably good one in Guitar Rig.

+Black Rage Hello fellow trombonist! I do use a lot of double tonguing with the plunger stuff, its good to learn without the plunger first, the Arban book (trombone version) has a lot of good exercises to get you going. Starting slow first of course. I think I learned just by figuring out the ta-ka-ta-ka syllables and messing with it on scales etc. Once you can get the ta and the ka to sound roughly the same you can start speeding it up and work on getting it even/in time. Steady stream of air and practice it with a metronome. Hope this helps, jazz
