man, the algorithm is pretty crazy, I'm from Brazil and I came across your video out of nowhere, anyway, I liked the arc's mvp format, I've never seen anything like that here, in fact, not a video focused on that. Nice
Knov does not deserve LVP, he did the groundwork for the entire raid. If he hadn't undertaken the most dangerous job of the entire mission all of the other hunters wouldn't have stood a chance, they'd have been picked off before they could enter the palace.
Knov only broke down because he couldn’t coat himself in protective aura, if he did he would’ve been caught, not only that he still completed his mission in making entry points. He was sent on a suicide mission and lived not to mention he’s recovering (slowly)
The real mvp was Komugi: - Kept Meruem occupied until the assault - Humbled him on multiple occasions and made him more human, to the point that he was willing to negotiate with Netero - During the assault managed to separate 2/3 of the royal guards from Meruem - Never did anything morally dubious
Knov's stealth mission is massively underrated. This dude had to sneak through the castle on its own with nothing but his own set of skills. He also faced Pouf's En WHILE IN ZETSU. Gon and Killua nearly lost it when they faced Hisoka's nen back in the colosseum arc, and they at least had the natural aura every human has. Knov was really an absolute bad ass to stay in zetsu and end the mission sucessfully even though everything mentioned.
Unpopular opinion, but Chimera ant arc's MVP is Knov. Without Knov's portals they won't be able to get inside the Palace. Knov also saves Shoot who is heavily injured. If only Knov didn't have a mental breakdown, he can probably take out Youpi with the help of Meleoron's ability.
He was activly reducing his aura not to be detected. The nen the quimera ants and specialy the Royal guards had hit him while he was basicly defenceless
@@brunopc101 If you think about it, any of the royal guards could simply detonate bomb mid-air feeling it come from miles away, set it off to somewhere else (Which would cause irreversible damage) and even if they didnt its not guaranteed that the radiation would enter their body enough to slowly kill them from radiation. If netero didnt use it as a last resource, Meruem would have antecipated something like it and escaped from the radius. Then he would adapt to radiation or just eat enough nen to heal. They had one chance to use it, and had to use it sacrificing the strongest men they could find
@YouBetIStare my point us that they could have made it other way. Like - the bomb was small enough to fit in netero heart. What if knov planted a bigger one just below meruem room. The plan was made the way we saw because netero wanted to fight.
@@brunopc101 Again, there were millions and hundreds of humans going to the capital where meruem was together with hostages. Netero had no other choice tbh, although any hunter could have done the same, they really didnt expect meruem to be so strong they just had a theory Chimera ants were from the dark continent
Everybody contributed to the mission greatly: 1. Knov was the cornerstone of the Hunter team in transportation and infiltration - he was the scout, the advance unit, the reconnaissance; it's completely understandable why he pissed his pants in Pouf's presence - what he went through was the equivalent of walking butt-naked through an extremely harsh blizzard at night 2. Morel had to deal with Pouf on his own because of Know backing out; his Deep Purple also proved to arguably be the most important and versatile ability in the Hunter team, allowing him to both keep the enemy trapped in one location - while also protecting civilians from harm at the same time (plus, there's the fact that he assisted heavily in taking out the "fodder" Officer Ants, even though they're all actually extremely formidable opponents) 3. Shoot kept Youpi busy for several minutes, buying time for everybody else to scatter and go on their ways to complete their missions - this is really his one big accomplishment in the arc, but this one accomplishment alone is up there with Netero 1v1-ing Meruem in terms of impressiveness 4. Knuckle had to keep Youpi busy by himself as well, after Shoot collapsed from cumulative damage and exhaustion from his 1v1 with Youpi - this is also extremely impressive 5. Gon not only kept Pitou busy by himself - who is argued to be the strongest of the Three Royal Guards - but he also killed her by himself (albeit, at the cost of his life); as far as the original mission goes, Gon is probably the only one who didn't deviate from his task at all and went above and beyond to complete it 6. Killua left Gon alone with Pitou at Gon's own request, so it's not like Killua abandoned his mission out of laziness or cowardice - he did it out of consideration for Gon; still, the fact that he went around saving his other teammates and helping them out of dangerous situations is plenty to applaud him 7. And, of course, Netero had the biggest role in the mission - killing the King at all costs, all by himself The turned Chimera Ants also did their parts very well All in all - it's tough to argue who contributed the most in this mission; everybody broke their limits to overcome otherwise insurmountable obstacles I'd disagree with you on your take of Morel being the overall MVP - but I can agree that his ability was the most versatile and useful in the mission
knov was literally the best support you can ask for in that arc, without knov they wouldnt be able to rest, train, strategise oh and yes.. INVADE THE PALACE??? he was literally going in solo too, no wonder why he was terrified shitless he was literally INSIDE the dragon's lair.
I don't know about the Knov stuff you laid down. He, on the other hand, laid down he foundation for the entire palace invasion, achieving that through infiltration that he did completely on his own inside enemy territory. Just the idea that Pitou could have activated En and captured him makes what he did all the more commendable. Plus, he took care of Shoot and Morel after their injuries and subsequent retreat for medical intervention. Otherwise, great video! Morel is so cool
I felt bad placing him last, the reasoning for it was he's the only person who didn't see any combat against the RG. If he did, honestly he'd be top 3!
I needed to see this video, Morel is honestly my favourite character in HxH, great design and ability, has some of my favourite fights, unique personality and he did SO much in this arc, being basically the leader of the team. Even Pouf had to lose time in order to take out Morels pipe.
I wouldn't call Knov LVP. He is more like recon, vice-captain, perimeter defense and assist. He is not any star player in the game, but no matter how traumatized he was during the main fight, the plan wouldn't turn-out that way without him. Gon gave one of the most amazing slam dunk in the game but Killua would be my Rookie of the Year. In terms of overall points, rebounds, assists, defense, steals, 3 pointers, and free throws, he is just as amazing as how you put Morel to be, but for a rookie level
on the contrary, as said in the video gon did his fair share, along with taking pitou out of the fight permanently, and pitou’s influence could have been significant if left unchecked
I think when u can delay and keep a royal guard out of commission then leave with them somewhere secluded and kill them it’s different, nobody else would’ve been able to kill pitou, it would’ve been a terrible loss if pitou came back early
Morel worked for two and despite the hate they could not have done shit without Knov teleportation abilities. Once they got done with their tasks Knov saved them all. He ended up being useful despite no longer being able to fight which is commandable.
I was just thinking about Morel...his ability is so useful for facing alotvof opponents. Perfect for the situation they were in without risking others lives. I hope we see him again
Hide and seek is so fucking op, You could get out of any situation ever with that, Just stock a room in there with water, a bed, food and you could escape any situation
And 'scream' is a instant kill, since it teleports an part of your body instantly. Even meruem could be in serious danger since his portal is not limited to another nen users, but only his conditions. too bad he's frail and noticed how much his potential needed to be unlocked
To be honest, Netero could just appear in the king's presence alone walking through the front door and demand a duel, the king would obviously accept under the condition that netero tell him his name, meruem would make sure no one interefere and then he would end up killing meruem and the roryal guard anyway using the miniature rose. no one needed to be involved
The only problem I see with what you stated is that Netero never intended to use the fact that he knew Muruem's name until during their fight. He held the kings name hostage so that the King would have no choice but to fight him for the name.
@@Diosuperior sorry I didn't quite get it, are you saying that if it was not by their team finging out the name of the king this could not happen? I agree. that was the most valuable information they had to be honest
@honkler1443 yeah, what I meant was Muruem at first had NO desire at all to fight Netero. It wasn’t until Netero later reveals that he knows The kings name that Muruem agrees to start fighting him back. So if Netero is in character you’re scenario, he wouldn’t be able to get past the Royal Guards based off just his fighting merit. And even if he uses the fact that he knows the kings name, they wouldn’t let his past anyways!
Netero isn't the strongest hunter, it's pretty explicit he said he's not even sure if he's in the top 5 anymore. potentially he's being somewhat humble but as we know strength isn't everythiung in a nen battle as Morel says when they first introduce him.
I get that morel was really useful and he deserves the 2nd place. But not putting Netero in first place? Nah. NONE of the team managed to kill any of the bodyguards and especially not the king. I understand that he couldn't have done it alone but still it was Netero who caused all 4 top ants to be put down for good.
Gon did kill a royal guard, and also was technically the only one who killed an chimera ant of this level as the other royal guards and meruem died of the bomb’s poison and not rlly netero, as netero just got no diffed by meruem
whole tuing only turned out the way it did because if neteros purposeful neglect so that he could have some fun and have a last hurrah , chimera ants could have been delt with much swifter and with less damage
But without Knov they wouldn't have been able to invade the palace to begin with. Sure Shoot and Knuckle stalled a bit but if not for Knov nothing would have happened
Palm Siberia and Knov are the two characters made me concerned about their fate in this arc. The breakdown of the two especially Knov hit me after the Kite tragedy.
Never before have I realized I've always been waiting for a video until it appear right before me. As if a long craving has been satiated. We are all playing morel in nen impact
@6.17 - completely wrong on this. The point of the line about Isaac Netero's being "like a child throwing a temper tantrum" has literally nothing to do with the nuclear bomb trick at the end - its entirely focused on illustrating the monumental difference between their power levels. The quote that best illustrates the importance of the bomb is when Meruem refers to himself as "the instinctive hope...the resulting boon of the total support of his species", essentially referring to himself as the gathered hope, power, and ambition of his entire species. To which Netero replies "don't underestimate the human race...our infinite potential". Ultimately, Meruem represented the greatest hope and power of his species endless focus towards evolution, while Netero represented humanities ultimate focus on malevolence and destruction. Even though Meruem 'won' against Netoro, he lost against humanities limitless will to destroy all that oppose them.
yeah me thinks so too, while Netero first stage was literally an representation of Humanity best positive things - Gratefulness and Love, after using all of his love (Which i believe led him to a soon-dead state) he just had all the negative things the humanity had infinite potential for - Death and destruction. If love couldnt scratch him slightly then the only thing that could would be the total opposite, the end of culture and knowledge, the worst thing human ever created that the whole world agreed was too much. An whole nuclear bomb. and i say culture and knowledge because Netero powers are filled with culture and knowledge humanity gathered and created together, Buddha, goddess, fashion and etc... truly an beautiful power
Don’t disagree with your ranking, but you definitely downplay the lower placements lol. Only able to distract the royal guard for a few minutes, but those minutes were all they needed, and those guards had orders of magnitude more aura then Shoot and Knuckle. Huge W
I agree that Morel is verry valuable member of extermination team but lets be honest the real MVP of this arc was Netero he not only kills Meruem but allso kills 2 ROYAL GUARDS with poison from the bomb
It’s also such a cop out to only take the siege section of the arc and apply it to everyone’s accomplishments and then use Morel’s previous actions prior to the siege as a justification for MVP. Not saying you’re wrong, but you’re not judging the characters to the same standard whatsoever otherwise knov would not have been the least valuable.
I've been saying this for years. It's good to know soeone else shares my opinion. Morel is hands down my favorite character in HxH as well. He's just a chill guy who gets shit done.
You don't understand the power system. His hatsu is busted because of his weak nature, he hides away from the problems that's why his nen ability is hiding based.
Knov might have been able to trap the king but then he could never use his ability again for risk of releasing him. And he would have to trick the king into entering. But I feel like that ending wouldn’t hit the same
I remember morel was recommended for a promotion, but he was the only one I believe. I get there are requirements for a promotion but, yeah, these guys deserved to be the exceptions. They did absolute work against the chimera ants.
@@Wolfaydragoon Yeah, every single member deserves it. I just remember somewhere in the manga where one of the Zodiacs say Morel is like 75% of they're power lvl.
I think Killua was the MVP. He literally helped everyone except Netero and Morel. Saved Knuckles and others, killed dozens of ants, and even recruited 2 ants to their side. He even saved Morel from Gon lol. He was the Queen of the chessboard
@@pboisron Wrong, each had their own mission. Killua played support for all other missions. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.
@detectivemarkseven use your own statement. Each person had their own mission. Their mission were to occupy the ants so that Netero could fight the king 1v1. It would've been terrible to fight the king and his guards. It's like chess. You may occupy queens, bishops, rooks, knights, and pawns, but the goal was to get the king. Therefore, everyone else played support for Netero. If you don't understand that, then you didn't really watch the arc
0:39 I guess I wouldn’t straight call him MVP, but man, even if everything went exactly the same, how were they going to win without netero? Literally, the only way I could think is, getting gon to fight as an adult, or just hoping that he kind of gave up and died like he did (but that was only because he had cancer….. from netero) sooooooo…..
While I don't agree overall with your take as Morel being the MVP (personally believing Netero deserves it due to actually (indirectly) killing Meruem with the poison). This was a great video in terms of the writing and editing, if you didn't mention the 100 sub appreciation I would have genuinely thought you would have had a couple million subscribers. I'm looking forward to seeing more excellent analyses from you. Keep up the great work!!!!!!
Morel is MVP of the arc due to holding the whole operation together, not because he killed the villain or whatever. You're summing it up based on raw results, ignoring what happened along the way and how we got there. That's like skipping a sports match and judging it based on the end result.
Morel was also the guy not needed to get healed up or Retreat hastely. Which should he was more or less confident what he can do and only be as aggressive as needed.
To those that say it's knov don't realize that he was the mvp BEFORE the arcs true beginning but after the entry Morel did everything he could to deal with the situation with creativity and tricks rather than being direct like Killiua or Gon or even Shoot
I'm just here waiting for they to bring back Morel in the dark continent arc (someone in the hxh association, maybe cow, mentioned they contacted morel and know, but knov only agreed to go to the"fake dark continent"
I agree with your ranking, but I would just swipe netero and morau. Yes morau is underrated, but netero killed the king AND two royal guards by himself. Like, the king. The only king. He can’t be less than 1st.
It’s Komugi, without her Meruem one shots Netero in the palace, all the civilians die, and he lives long enough and powerful enough to kill the majority of humanity
@@IvanIvanovich-qh9xt I’m saying rose explodes in the palace (gon, Killua, Zeno and everyone on the elimination team, and the citizens nearby die in the blast), and the poison still took time after detonation to kill meruem, with how powerful he was a meruem who wanted to take revenge and destroy as much as possible had enough time while he was dying to kill millions. This is also assuming Pitou can’t somehow heal the king since they wouldn’t be killed by gon and that the royal guards couldn’t protect the king in any way
@@fragiletrash3989 but the bomb would go off in the palace, killing the entire extermination team (including gon and killua), all of the civilians, and meruem still survives the bomb and lives long enough to destroy half the continent-and since gon doesn’t kill pitou their healing could play a factor
@@Tomiwa101 Probably she would also feel Pitou aura and warn both of them, Kaito didnt want to warn them cuz he knew they both would go on to fight too... but a 4v1 would be a ez gg if you remember that Pitou was just a newborn without any specific skill
6:27 The king died to poison not radiation. It doesn’t make sense, but that’s what they said in the anime. Let me know if there is different dubbing you guys saw. Radiation poison? That’s just radiation. They said explicitly poison, no?
@kazedasugoi because it's kinda ambiguous in the show. And it makes sense for it to be a nuclear bomb thematically. But it is supposed to be some poison that can easily infect others from person to person
It is a nuclear bomb, it set a limit to the anime and to foil with real life disasters involving nuclear bombs. The whole fight is foreshadowed by netero himself, saying they were somewhere were bombs were constantly tested. The poison is radiation since meruem was born with perfect genetics only the deformation of genetics itself would have killed him, if not the bomb itself. (Just compare how it is in a "secluded" island where no recordings there are allowed, A bomb was dropped and there is a mafia going on with the pretense of being a safe place to live. It is a foil to somewhere irl, i just cant name it.)
Dude, there's no Knov, there's no invasion, period. The reason why he crumbled from their sinister aura is because he went in solo with no En to protect himself from their aura. They explain all that.
he got coward bcuz he never faced such a bizarre aura, its like seeing a gun irl for the first time when you're a child. much probable he will reappear more prepared (Hopefully). Even kaito was 'anxious' due to a newborn Pitou aura. Gon and knuckles just are that brave Shoot and killua are trained assassins, even if they're scared they want to protect their teammates
I think you underrate Killua and Netero, and overrate Morel: Netero for obvious reasons, he sacrificed the most and accomplished the overall goal of killing the king and the most royal guards. Killua didn't achieve his initial goal, but when the situation changed he was flexible and accomplished far more. He converted Palm and Ikalgo, and in some form saved Gon, Knuckle, and Komugi (which may have kept the king from killing everyone while he was still alive) and he also caused his fair share of chaos in the selection process, saving citizens and killing ants (in fact he was first to). Morel was a great leader, and maybe underrated, but overall he only managed to stall Youpi and Pouf for a few minutes along with a few other things you mentioned.
@@potofseed I don't see myself that way at all lol, but sometimes it really is that simple. I rate Killua higher than others and he barely killed anyone (who were super powerful in that arc), just was the best support player being exactly where he's needed
I’m watching this right now for the first time so I don’t want to get spoiled yet but man Morels smoky jail can stop anything apparently 💀💀💀 I don’t get why pouf didn’t just attack him and the smoky jail would be gone? Bro had to sneak away 😂😂
@@yogybogy3556 bcuz Pouf is a manipulator that requires air inhaling conditions, and Morels is a manipulator that requires air exhaling conditions. They simply wouldnt be able to kill themselves if Pouf was the weakest he wouldnt be a royal guard, he simply decided to be an supportive action while he was immortal depending on one single cell to reproduce again
you got yourself a new subscriber, amazing video and quality, i didn't even notice you had 800 subs until you mentioned that your at 100, honestly thought you had way more, hope your channel does well !
Morel also has an existential crisis due to the guards making him question his whole philosophy on nen combat and despite that he never wavers like Knov did.
Cuz the Royal guards and King are too strong in their base levels not even counting Hatsus, one must use alternative tactics to beat them instead of the normal shonen solution of “power up and hit rly hard”
@@aceclover758 More accurately Morel could overcome Cheetu and Leo through outsmarting them, But no matter how good his plan was he could only hope to distract a royal guard.
Knov wavers cause he experiences Royal guard ren without any ten protection. Similar to the hostility killua and gon feel from Hisokas ren in heavens arena before they learned about nen.
@@brandon.d I guess what Know experienced must have been that hostility Gon and Killua felt but exponentially stronger, like being on the top of a mountain naked for the same time he was exposed. You would never be the same (if you even survive). He could have easily be killed by the En alone if he wasn't such an experienced hunter, I believe. Maybe I'm stretching.
I think it doesn’t make sense not to put Zeno when he’s the reason Neferupito was kept at bay for so long because of the dragon dive hurting Komugi. Also while I appreciate Morau and understand his place, Knov deserves to be higher bc his Nen ability was just too crucial in the whole thing to put him at the bottom bc he didn’t participate in the invasion.
i have a good video idea for you, there is a lot of similarities i found between jjk and hxh abilities, you can make a video about that. (for example sukuna's fire arrow hand signs and pokkle's hand signs look very much alike, cheeto's domain expansion like ability...)
This is why I will forever think the royal gaurds are overrated asf largely because of the anime. Netero knew the rest of the hunter would could take care of the royal gaurds or else he would of tried to fight all of them at once and take them out at the same time, he knew if need be the zodiacs could deal with the royal gaurds so the safest bet was to seperate them from the king since taking out the king was the most important part. Knuckle, shoot, a little bit of killua where stalling youpi for fucking ever , you have 2 apprentinces and a child stalling the "almighty royal gaurds", Morel is such a boss that he made Pouf weaken himself to escape the smoke, and I see people talking about "netero didnt want the zodiacs to help cause they would make the ants stronger" as if hunters weaker than the zodiacs didnt survive against the ants when they clearly did. Netero knew he didnt need the zodiacs so he just got hunters with useful abilities to form the extermination team, I think the reason people overrate the royal gaurds is purely because of the anime when they were anywhere near as impressive in the manga and I think people take neteros words about pitou being stronger than him to heart when in the same sentence netero claims hes equal to morel and knov, from that point neteros power scaling needs to be called into question. Also people simingly forget that Knov and Morel werent neteros first choices to come even outside the zodiacs, If i remmeber correctly netero said that "i barely managed to get these 2" implying that he went for others but was denied and knov and morel where the highest he could get
@@nevinahluwalia6663 prove me wrong then. Pitou lost , Youpi was going to lose because morel was willing to sacrifice his life if knuckle had more heart and Pouf basically lost as soon as his fight started by being trapped in Morels smoke, They would of gotten obliterated by the zodiacs
@@godusopp2752 Literally even the phantom troupes - any of them - could have defeated ANY of the royal guards. Uvogin would just obliterate Youpi and tank every and any explosion from youpi. Shizuku would just vacuum pitou whole existence, since her nen has no limit - the vacuum wouldn't stop regardless of pitou speed or size. Feitan could easily kill pitou as an whole taken enough damage since Pitou has no self-preservation thoughts, she would attack and notice something's wrong too late. Alternatively, Illumi and shalnarks could easily control Youpi Machi and bonolenov could render all of them useless since they're beasts and dont have much nen knowledge, Machi would render them helpless and bonolenov just needing Jupiter attack to obliterate ANY of them except Meruem and pitou (That defended a netero attack, albeit only using it to push her away, pitou wouldnt die with a single jupiter attack me believes.) Nobunaga and franklin are much more complicated cases since we didnt see them do anything extraordinary. Chrollo is obviously overkill. Honestly the royal guards were interesting characters, but i dont see how they survived so many attacks except pitou that had less individuality and ego (Which made them stronger and not fear death, while all others serve the king in a delusional manner or simply dont care about the king.) Hell, any other character except the one's we got in the arc could have done a little better. We got: Gon who's just a child. Killua who's an assassin that is yet to reach full potential. Knov who's just a manipulator. The portal dude. Palm who powers are entirely supportive throughout the arc. The only characters who really tried to do any harm were Kaito, that could easily win any other royal guard except Pitou since she's a far better manipulator than kaito is as a conjurer and Netero, who had to tank the king that literally was fed off nen and every other genetics, the perfect being created who doesnt compare to any character in the current arc so far. Meruem without nen could see the future and yet netero tanked him hard. The arc was so fun to watch but the glazing in the royal guards was so unnecessary , just say Pitou is the strongest and leave the others as some kind of fillers
