Thanks Joe. I'm embarrassed to post some of these unproductive outings! Next week, I have a favorite story to post that's out of my normal lane. It's about a WW2 recovery to the elderly son of a pretty significant pilot. We stumbled upon the Colonel's footlocker. Packed with stuff . . . in a dumpster. Far removed from the civil war, but a cool story. CBS News covered it.

Thank you so much, Dish! There are a lot of guys, my age and younger who've done far better than me, but I've had a blast. I started hunting when I was big enough to lug a big old modified GI mine detector (probably around 10 years old). I'm 64 now. I quit hunting in early adulthood to do life, raise daughters, have a career, etc. When my youngest daughter graduated high school, I bought a Tesoro Tejon and jumped back in full force. I have NO IDEA how much time I've spent swinging a coil, all I can tell you is that I try to go (now) one day a week. So that would average out to be about 400 hours a year. Now that I think about it, I should be rich by now (and I ain't!)!

Oh, now you've done it, Wsu. I could talk for hours. Smaller one is Clarabelle. She was whelped near Memphis, and I still can't believe I drove that far to get a DOG. Big Bruiser is Lucy (AKC : "Lucy Don't Sass Me"). She is from one of our litters. Great bloodlines, but hard-headed and independent. Both are VERY territorial Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. If you make it past my cameras and video surveillance, they sleep just outside the barred and double dead-bolted relic room door. Not saying my collection is totally secure, but if you get in, I'll have an ample blood-trail to follow during recovery operations!

Hey Vickie, are you sure you're talking about this video? I can't find that? When did I do that? I have relocated one of my two barn cats in other vids, but not this one, I don't think. And yes, others have scolded me. They say, "Cats are super popular on the internet! Leave them alone!" Let me reassure you, my two are pretty pampered. They're good girls, and I appreciate them!
