Nuptial Flight season was unpredictable this year due to the weather but the sun finally came out, so I thought I’d go out on a little ant hunt. What did I find watch and find out 👌🏾

20 queens is what you want dang you must find a lot of queens because it’s rare to find 1

Yh turned out they weren’t Myrmica, so I’ve been trying to find nests so hopefully this year I get them

Yeah you can find tons of queens while it's very hot in the UK, when it was very hot, there was tons of males and females mating eachother.

I did this year and got close to a founding colony but then the queen died 😢 so I’ll try again this year

Did you use lego for your formicarium?

So I have used Lego in the past which worked well for L.niger but they died in hibernation because it dried out to quickly

@@Lifeofkush196 yes, it is very hard to tell, but Ruginodis has a longer node compared to rubra, they also have different antenna

Bro ruginodis isn't found in the uk, only rubra, so it was rubra, and the difference is the antenna on the rubra is straight, where in th ruginodis it is more curved
