My B14 HMR 6.5 hates Nosler (Talking 2+ MOA groups), but it loves Hornady Match (.45MOA groups) at 100 yards. I know each rifle loves and hate different types of ammo, but I have never seen such a drastic difference in tightness of groups as I have with this rifle. My advice, make sure you barrel likes whatever box of ammo you plan on hunting with before the big day. At 2+MOA, that could mean the difference between a maiming shot or a kill shot at 300 yards (my max for hunting, maybe not yours).

After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel ru-vid.comUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!

Really enjoy your bolt gun reviews. Relaxed good content. That range is cool you shoot at, similar to the one i have access to over here in Australia. I say bolt guns because we average Joe's don't have access to semi auto rifles. Keep them coming Cheers mate.

I absolutely love the Bergara B-14 Hunter in 30.06 Springfield. Someday I’ll have the Bergara HMR in .300 Winchester Magnum! I think the Mauser M-18 will fill my 6.5 Creedmoor role. I’m hoping Bergara makes a 22LR/MAG bolt action rifle.

Excellent video and looks like a great rifle. I would only have to argue that the Tikka CTR in 6.5 is the best hunting rifle available! It weighs in the 7 pound range with a 20 inch threaded bull barrel, has a 10 round single stack metal detachable magazine, oversized bolt handle and the smoothest most reliable action you can get. Costs around 900. Shoots factory ammo under an inch and my reloads 1/2 inch and under. Punched a 0.3 inch group with it.

Great review ! I am very happy with mine. The stock is real solid and feels great, the trigger was set at 2.5 lbs and is crisp with no creep and mine shoots 1/2 Moa with Hornady 140 grain. Action is very smooth and I say as good as my Tikka. My only issue worth mentioning is with the bolt as there is a detente position that prevents smooth opening of the bolt and am sure was added as a safety feature but I wished that it wasn't there. An amazing value for under 1k.

I got mine Sept 1st on Sept 2nd I was at the CMP Talladega. The last group of the day was a 4.8" group at 600 yds. I had never shot past 300 yards and that was in basic training 1982. The first time I went to the CMP and shot 600 yds was in May 2017. Yes I'm a newb

Great! Decent weight, decent price, very good accuracy. I've been wanting to get a 6.5 CM bolt gun (I made one on the AR10 platform, which does very nicely but weighs a ton). I think this is the rifle for me.

RE: your discussion of the BMP vs. HMR, what's really crazy is that, if you can get one of the Cabela's or SCHEELS's exclusives of the HMR in 6.5 creed, it comes, for the same price as the standard HMR, with a 24" barrel! At the same price! Really makes a case for best value rifle, at any price point, ever.

Im shopping for my first bolt action rifle for hunting and this is looking like just what I'm looking for. I love the ergonomics of PRS rifles but chassis rifles are too fucking heavy and I'm not a fan of tacticool rifles. I like the simple appearance this one has but not at the expense of features. Before finding this, I was pretty well set on a 700 and putting a KRG bravo stock on it as well as a geissele trigger.

I love that rifle. It is everything I need. I have the Ruger RPR but it's a tank to hall around for coyote and such. Also I noticed when you ran the bolt real hard was when you had the brass not eject. For example when you ran the bolt after hitting steel at 550 off the barricade you just worked the. Only real easy b/c you were talking and it seem to work like it should. Anyways great review! I'll be getting with my local dealer soon for this one

Is it just me or does the picture of that reticle in the lower right hand corner look too busy/complicated? Don't any of these scopes use the simple mil-dot anymore? I've been planning on building a nice long range rifle starting with a Bergara B-14 HMR in 308, but looking at some of these scopes leaves me with more questions than answers. If I looked through the eye piece and seen these arrows pointing to this, that and the other I would be lost! Granted, its been a few years since I've purchased a hunting scope, but I'd never imagined they would have got this complicated.

Hey there, big fan of your videos and unbiased reviews. I have the Bergara HMR 6.5 creedmoor as well. Just a few questions. 1. Do you feel like the muzzle brake you have makes the recoil reduce to improve accuracy? 2. After how many shots do you clean your gun? My groups are fairly decent but sometimes do get a little separation in the grouping.
@TWANGnBANG
@TWANGnBANG 5 лет назад
I really shoot suppressed more than with a naked brake, and yes, I shoot tighter groups when using a silencer than when not. It cleans up the air behind the bullet as it leaves the muzzle, and it causes less flinching at the shot. I mainly clean the bolt. Sometimes I run a bore snake down the bore with oil the clean out the big chunks, but I never scrub the bore.

TWANGnBANG how do you take the bolt apart? I watched the video online from Bergara and put the .05 Allen wrench in as said but when I went to unscrew it counter clock wise it made a really loud clicking noise and then got caught on the bolt and wouldn’t unscrew anymore.
@PWPUU

I have had this joker on order for 4 weeks with supposedly another 4-5 weeks until delivery-and I can't find a single place with them in stock. Hopefully Bergara can make them a little faster!
@TWANGnBANG

You can find 308 in stock, but Bergara is definitely having a huge challenge keeping up with the demand for 6.5 CM. It's such a hot cartridge this year with so many fantastic factory loads coming out for it.

I wondered what the weight was. 9,1/2 lbs for a hunting rifle is heavy for mountains. I wondered how a hunting/target rifle would compromise in weight.... It's contradictory, one way or the other I suppose. But this seems more like a target gun. Thanks for your in depth information.
@TWANGnBANG
@TWANGnBANG 7 лет назад
Bergara makes lightweight hunting rifles. They do not claim this is a mountain hunting rifle, but most hunters have an easy walk to their blind or stand.
@JonBurnsArt
@JonBurnsArt 7 лет назад
I should be more specific. I just saw this rifle advertised in a Cabela's mailer. I live in Oregon, btw. But the ad stated, "light weight". So I was surprised to hear you say 9 1/2 lbs. That's all. Not the first misleading ad Cabela's has run.

Where did you get the front rail mount for your bipod?

Does that silencer cover cause accuracy issues if it slips in front due to a "false crown"? Heard of this impacting accuracy so I always leave the front .25 inch bare silencer.

I've never had an issue like that. My Sandman L set up as it is knocks about .2 MOA off my group size.

Nice rifle but it's not offered in left hand. I'll stick with my Nemesis ambidextrous 308.
