Hey Flinter! Nice bucks! Just food for thought on number of 5 stars at a time. I had two elk herd on Nez Pearce Valley that were in Haliwitch at the same pond that combined had 4 5 stars, 3 4 stars, 2 3 stars, and 2 1 stars. So it’s definitely possible to have a bunch of 5 stars of the same species at once. Because I actually killed two other 5 star elk north just after that as well.

Question, how do i know whether or not to shoot a 4 star? Because the few times i have, their fitness is above 90% and i dont know if they wouldve made it to 5 stars

I’m not flantro but my advice would be to never shoot 4 stars there’s no real point because even if they die they still have great genetics so if they die it does no real harm to the herd

Anything 90% or up will make 5 star and some animals can even become 5 at 85% or more genetics. I say just never shoot 4 stars, there is no reason to when you can just wait and maybe get a 5 star
