Old Ezra cask strength is the other PA state store pick. Both are Lux Row Bardstown 120 proof, dumped 2018, I think they're $50 or $55 too. I'm going to a barrel craft spirits event next week, there's a whistlepig n waffles this week but I'm not gonna be able to get there on time.

I missed the buffalo trace & Nelson Bros events, I'm sure btac was packed. My go to shop in NJ has a separate space next door for events, there's a whole wall of Scotch boxes & a bunch of barrels set up as tasting stations

I almost feel bad for preferring the Wee Beastie to Lagavulin 16 and some other peated choices. I like the youthfulness of the Wee Beastie. Laphroaig 10 use to by my go-to for Scotch until I had the Ardbeg.

Don't disagree with you on the Rare Breed Rye, there are better Rye options at that price point, including JD Single Barrel. But Rare Breed bourbon is very good. Curiously, I never really see you spot any Four Roses Barrel Strength bottles that have the stated recipes and age. Those pop up pretty frequently in my area. Just found an 11-year 3-month OBSF yesterday. Those are pretty fun to hunt and try for all of the recipes.

Willet pot still isn’t terrible is it a bottle I’d go out and get no. But I have a friend that gets it regularly and I’ve had it a couple of times and it’s drinkable. I can suggest you try the old Overholt 114 rye it’s a hitter for cheap. And you always talk about what your dad drank do you drink it to??

I do keep a bottle of Kentucky Tavern and I take a wee sip when I think about him which is often. But definitely on his birthday
